When I first started to learn how to recognize jumps, I thought the toe jumps literally mean the toe pick is the source of the jumping force. After seeing some subtle toe jumps, then it registered in my mind that those are toe-assisted jumps. I'm no expert, but is it better technique to not rely on the toe pick as strongly? Come to think of it, the less reliant on the toe pick the jump is, I think it's less likely to flutz or lip the jump because then you have less chances to change edges at the last minute? For people who know figure skating, do you agree with the bv of the various jumps? We can pretty much agree that the axel is the most difficult while the toe loop is the easiest. But how is the difficulty of the loop compared with the flip and lutz?

I think the crazy part is he's not even going into the spread eagle with high speed! I don't know how many students will fail if a physics teacher sets a mechanics exam based on all of Yuzu's maneuvers.

I know...I can't understand those crazy fangirls. No matter how much I love a celebrity, I would never think of dating them even if our ages are suitable because ultimately I only know the person as a character on screen, not the person in his entirety. I guess it's both a blessing and a curse that Yuzu has attractive looks. Not sure how realistic it is, but I don't mind Yuzu just marry and never reveal who his wife is. Given how good the rest of his family members are with ninja skills, I would hope they can impart some of this wisdom to his future wife and kids. I would hate for Yuzu's loved ones to be harassed by crazy fans or the media. As fans, there is not much we can do but to avoid supporting any tabloid so that we don't encourage the market for 'juicy' news.

I agree....while I am a fangirl and Yuzu is kinda like an idol to me, I don't want him to be treated like a celebrity. I'm ok with hearing nothing about Yuzu, especially if the tabloid doesn't have his permission. If I miss Yuzu, I'll just rewatch his programs. While I disagree with the treatment some celebrities get, at least they knew what they were getting into when they chose their careers. Yuzu is first and foremost a figure skater, and I'm sad that this is the price he has to pay for his brilliance. Well said....I really wish they stop speculating or probing his private life. I feel sad that Yuzu can't move around as freely in Japan because he loves Japan so much. I think most of his fans are rationale, but there are always people who don't respect boundaries and are reasons while tabloids are still making money. =( As for the girlfriend thing, that was so random. I think that incident really affected how Yuzu view the media. Yuzu once mentioned that he wanted to get married between 25-27 years old, so I'm worried that these annoying pap are making it hard for him. The media is the part of the reason why many celebrities remain single because they can't find someone or their relationships didn't last. I don't want that to happen to Yuzu. On a side note, it took me a while to realize that Friday is the name of the tabloid. I was initially confused because I couldn't understand where everyone is bashing fridays since it's one day before the weekends.

Tbh, I don't know what he can do to avoid being spotted. I'm pretty sure fans can spot him even if he's wearing a mask. He probably needs to cover his entire face, hair and neck to avoid being recognized. And since he's usually with his mum, his mum needs to disguise herself too cos I think many people recognize her as well.

Before this, I was still a little worried that he might r**** after PC 2018, but now this seems unlikely!!! =D I know this is a little greedy and I'm getting ahead of myself, but can Yuzu be the first men in history to win 3 consecutive OGM? I can't foresee the future, but I believe Yuzu will have the title of GOAT in figure skating for all eternity. <3

Boyang can give Yuzu fashion and style lessons while Yuzu can teach Boyang something about costumes. Well, no human beings can escape the laws of Physics.....but Yuzu is a space kitty from Planet Hanyu, so it doesn't always apply to him. =P

This is so adorable!!!!! I'm imagining bb Yuzu with his mushroom head and rosy cheeks pretending to be clueless on ice. Sometimes Yuzu is so extra and likes to show off, but there are also times like this when he's so humble. He's like a prince pretending to be a commoner when he goes into town. =P

@Hydroblade Can we collect these limericks and give Yuzu a book of limericks from Planet Hanyu for ACI?

Until you're sick of it...which is probably never We're all cursed by the evil lord Zuzu. I agree, it's such a fine line to draw. I can't stop myself from gushing over Yuzu, so I try to make my obsession a little more useful. Whenever I'm facing setbacks at work, I try to remind myself what Yuzu had to go through to come to where he is today and whatever obstacles I'm facing were nothing compared to his. @PPOS Thanks for starting this limerick trend! There are so many talented fanyus on this planet. I'll try to come up with one too but no inspiration yet. =P

Show him SparkleSalad's avatar to prove him wrong =P No one is saying Nathan can't do quads, but if he can skate as well as Yuzu does, we'll care. The first time I saw Yuzu skate wasn't even in HD so I could barely see his face. Yuzu is cute, but cuteness alone wouldn't have captured the hearts of so many fanyus. =P

I consider reading this forum as reading as well.... And I know, I'll want to catch all the live streams of Yuzu's competitions, so hopefully my work doesn't suffer...

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes I wish that people who can't understand our love for Yuzu would just watch a few of Yuzu's performances. Even if they don't become fans, it's not too difficult to see how he has inspired so many. Me too...=P But if I have a boyfriend, I'm going to convert him to a fanyu so that we can go to competitions together.

It may help if you have a TV. =P My housemate and I recently got a TV so I decided to watch Yuzu skate on a much bigger screen than my laptop. It was so mesmerizing! My friend knows nothing about figure skating, but she was really impressed! I've also showed her other skaters' programs like Evgenia's Sailormoon and Boyang's spiderman, and she said they are good skaters, but none of them look nearly as effortless as Yuzu. And that it's like Yuzu is floating! She's also impressed with his hand movements during his spins and she said he's a really good dancer. It doesn't take a trained eye to recognize Yuzu's awesome. And I'm sorry that both of you lost a friend because of this. I've been talking about Yuzu a lot lately, but I've learnt to stop when I know my friends are not taking an interest. That's why I need this planet! So that I can gush about Yuzu's awesomeness without alienating anyone.

These songs are wonderful! I love how they breathe life into the vocaloid songs that they cover. If Yuzu ever does an ex on one of their songs (one can always dream right?), I think it's ok to use the CD version. It'll be too confusing for us if we need to look at both the band (so many of them) and Yuzu at the same time. Alternatively, we can just keep rewatching it until we've captured all the details. =P

Agree! I hope he stays this way always. On a side note, I just converted my housemate to a Yuzu fan. She's not as crazy as me, but who knows about the future?

Maybe Patrick is gunning for a team gold medal? That's more likely to be his first OGM. And I agree about Shoma. It seems a little hasty to be adding 4Lz when his edges are not fixed yet. I want to know Boyang's FS as well...why so secretive?

These are 2 of my favorite songs: I really like how they incorporate traditional musical instruments with pop music. These songs are a little too fast paced, but perhaps with some creative music editing and slowing of the tempo, it might work =P. On a side note, Yuzu doing an ex to One Rock will be cool too since he likes them so much. =P

Aww...what a bummer. =P I hope it has the same calming effect on Patrick though. =P Same...but to be fair, I've only really connected emotionally with Yuzu's skating. I enjoy watching others skate as well, but not at the same level. And yes, he needs a costume fitting for his beautiful programmes. If that's what he wears, I'm not sure if I'll even call it a costume. Although there's always people r*****ng and juniors joining the ranks of seniors, it's still sad to see people go...I've not paid any attention to the junior skaters so it'll be strange when there are less and less familiar faces in the arena. =(
