I don't know Samodurova well. Is she known to implode? She only needs a 3rd place to get to the final anyway, that could help her with the pressure against Alena and Rika.

Sofia won her assignment and Alena is likely to win hers, so they're going to place two first place skaters in the last GP to increase the chances for more Russian ladies in the final. 15 points is better than 13, so Guliakova was on a thin rope the moment Sofia won last week. I did expect them to replace Vasilieva first, before knowing what Alena's result will be, but I guess with her margin on the SP, they're confident she'll win and give her Italy too. Too much depth in Russian ladies. Second place isn't good enough. Italy is going to be such a bloodbath. And Eusoon might not make it, depending on whether she manages to get on the podium via her FS.
