  1. Predicting the ladies is going to be quite hard, actually. Aside from Zhenya obviously for gold, I've no idea how to deal with the mix of Wakaba, Carolina, Elena and Mirai with a 3A. Carolina, especially, as seen in Finlandia Trophy, can garner quite high PCS to compensate for lower tech, which can lead to a podium finish.
  2. I loved that. Sorry, Russian boys!
  3. I would also like to mention that Nathan's personal best score for his SP is around 103 and Shoma's is 104ish, with similar layouts (only difference is if jumps are in first or second half). No matter how good their SPs are this season, there's a lot of ground in GOE and PCS to make up to a clean Yuzu at 112 and change. And that was with a 4S.
  4. It's part of his pattern. He needs a Canadian silver to get him going and he wasn't doing Skate Canada this year!
  5. Well, yeah. It's Olympic season. Expect it. The PCS are less scrunched up in the FS, though. An average of 9 PCS is 45 PCS in the SP but 90 in the FS. Clean Yuzu should have about 10+ PCS over anyone getting 44-45 and 90-91 in SP and FS respectively. Edit: Whether you think the difference should be higher, well, it's Olympic season, inflation is expected for all.
  6. And it not giving any ranking points, being a fluff competition and only letting you skate the FS.
  7. That's... not a very good perspective to have this season, to be honest. You should worry about Yuzu winning, not someone else breaking a record here or there. Because if Yuzu wins, it means he'll break them right back. So it doesn't matter as long as Yuzu achieves what he wants to achieve in February. (and along the way too! he already started at ACI! ish)
  8. Oh yeah, the combined score may be hard to beat by someone not Yuzu for a while. Individual scores are more likely.
  9. I'm gonna do same tables to relax everyone: SKATER LAYOUT MAX TES POSSIBLE PCS TOTAL MAX SCORE HANYU 4Lo / 3A 4T3T 66.61 48-49 114.61-115.61 CHEN 3A / 4F3T 4Lz 70.92 43-46 113.92-116.92 UNO 4F / 4T3T 3A 66.91 45-47 111.91-113.90 Yuzu is far more likely of hitting the max TES than any of the other guys. And as you can see, even if Yuzu is surpassed in the SP... it's by like 1-2 points, if clean(ish). SP is not where people need to worry about Yuzu. Just hope he doesn't pop anything in his FS! Edit: or in his SP again....
  10. Here's some positivism for this thread. Look at that 3A!
  11. From her fanfest at GS, they say she's taking her cast off this Friday, so she has time for recovery before JGPF.
  12. I think people should really expect WRs to be broken this season by anyone. Quite a few have a BV much higher than Yuzu's back in 2015 and PCS will just keep on getting inflated for everyone. It doesn't mean Yuzu can't break them right back. But to be worried about WR at this point is just setting yourself for needless anxiety. As long as Yuzu can land more or less well his stuff, he'll be fine and break WRs too. And hopefully he'll peak at the Olympics. Here's willing!
  13. The SP is not where one needs to worry anyway. Even if Nathan gets a higher score than Yuzu, it'd only by a couple points, if both clean.
  14. Eteri Tutberidze mentions Yuzu in a recent interview: Original source of the interview here.

  17. I love them. And Tarakanova too!
  18. Cuties!!
  19. Unfortunately true but it's still a while since JGPF, she has time to recover and she's hopeful. Doesn't look like a fracture. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Edit: Apparently it is a bone fracture.
  20. Right now yes, but Zhou will upgrade to 5-6 quads and I'm sure Shoma will eventually upgrade more as well.
  21. How many of them can compete in Seniors? I'm kind of rooting for Kailani to get a spot so she can try and get some GP points for Team Australia.
  22. She and Zhenya were really feeling it.
  23. Team USA is REALLY working that Olympics season.
  24. I did the scenarios and yes, he is! By virtue of having a first place, he'd win the tiebreaker with anyone with 24 points. SCENARIO 1 SCENARIO 2 SCENARIO 3 SCENARIO 4 Alexey EROKHOV (1+1) 30 Alexey EROKHOV (1+1) 30 Alexey EROKHOV (1+1) 30 Alexey EROKHOV (1+1) 30 Alexei KRASNOZHON (1+1) 30 Alexei KRASNOZHON (1+1) 30 Alexei KRASNOZHON (1+1) 30 Alexei KRASNOZHON (1+1) 30 Camden PULKINEN (1+2) 28 Camden PULKINEN (1+2) 28 Camden PULKINEN (1+2) 28 Camden PULKINEN (1+2) 28 Andrew TORGASHEV (2+1) 28 Andrew TORGASHEV (2+1) 28 Egor or Tomoki (3+1) 26 Egor or Tomoki (3+1) 26 Mitsuki SUMOTO (1+4) 24 Mitsuki SUMOTO (1+4) 24 Andrew TORGASHEV (2+2) 26 Mitsuki SUMOTO (1+4) 24 Egor MURASHOV (3+2) 24 Tomoki HIWATASHI (3+2) 24 Mitsuki SUMOTO (1+4) 24 Egor or Tomoki (3+2) 24 Makar IGNATOV (2+3) 24 Makar IGNATOV (2+3) 24 Makar IGNATOV (2+3) 24 Andrew TORGASHEV (2+3) 24 Tomoki HIWATASHI (3+3) 22 Egor MURASHOV (3+3) 22 Egor or Tomoki (3+3) 22 Makar IGNATOV (2+3) 24 Red - Out Blue - Tiebreaker necessary for last place in JGPF The only wrench to this would be if Russia sent Egor RUKHIN to Italy with Egor MURASHOV, both with 11 points but even then... Edit: Corrected some math because I obviously can't do simple sums... and this changes the chances of some 24 pointers.
