  1. I think they tried to get him to have a single room but I don't think the request was actually granted? Are you sure he ended up staying separately?

  3. Japan's chances to win are 0 given the poor Pairs and Ice Dance fields. And highly unlikely to medal. The Team podium will be Canada, Russia and USA, in whichever order (likely Canada in first). So for Team Japan, competing in the Team Event will be merely for nationalistic pride. Edit: Sorry, replied late and without noticing we should probably be talking about that at the Nebelhorn thread.
  4. Kana and Chris are. If they get an individual Ice Dance spot for Japan, they have 3 disciplines for the Olympics, which is the minimum for Team Event qualification. They then can invite a Pair Team for the Team Event only.
  5. It's my fav from him too.
  6. So I was checking this site for best elements and found out Yuzu is the first man to get full GOE on a sit spin (CSSp4). The only other spins that have gotten max GOE are Camel spins (CCSp4) by Jason Brown (a lot of them, actually, he's awesome) and a few combination spins.
  7. Happy birthday, Mao!
  8. Pity Yuzu's lows have to be as extra as he is.
  9. I think with Chopin, it's just so ingrained in his muscle memory, even with the 4S at the beginning (especially because of it), that it was just smooth sailing with that, regardless of lack of practice. This is where having done it for two seasons and in shows helped him a lot. I hope it continues to be equally comfortable for him in future competitions. Edit: I'm ignoring his obviously terrible SP runthrough in practice.
  10. OMG, he's the cutest, especially 1 and 3. I want to pinch his cheeks.
  11. http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20170925/fgr17092505030003-n3.html Yuzu was off ice for a week before ACI and was considering withdrawing. So likely Thursday was his first practice in a while.

  22. I guess if he effs up his practice today again we can be reassured he'll nail it later.
  23. Whoa, Shoma looks so mature here. I think he lost the last shreds of baby fat from his face. He ain't no kid anymore. More photos from the Chukyo university event where Shoma participated.
  24. He reached n.º 1 too at some point after his SP! Rippon! Not tano! He does not have helicopter arms!
