I loved it when he used to be so unconcerned about making mistakes (in English, skating, jumping, whatever).............there was a real openness and naturalness about his personality that was so endearing.......I hope after the Olympic season is over he can relax a bit more as he is a joy when he is relaxed and happy eg. I think his asthma is very well controlled now (but I do think he struggled in the past) - I agree about the intimacy of seeing his warm breath in the cold air as he skated - it enhanced his physicality somehow and made him feel more real - don't know if that makes sense LOL! Thanks Fay, wonderful translation. I couldn't pick a favourite quote - each one of them seems to reflect some of my own feelings about, and experience of, watching Yuzuru perform. Commentators recognise how special he is, and commentaries on Yuzu's performances are peppered with many gushing comments on his wonderfulness, but it does not take a figure skating expert to see this; it was so very obvious the first time I saw him skate that he had a magic about him that was unique. Our Russian friends show us we have more in common than that which divides us! Yuzuru works his magic on us all.(Re post from kamotejojo) Well when I watched the WTT livestream I thought immediately he was asking Pooh whether he thought he should comply with the audience's demand for an encore.........thank goodness Pooh said yes - we got that wonderful short LGC with kisses to the audience, and an "arigatou" to Prince's spirit- 1,987 replies
