    It feels like an unpopular opinion, but I am so happy at the prospect of seeing Yuzuru skate. I also think the situation in Japan is somewhat different to elsewhere in that although the rates of infection are going up, they are still comparatively very low when compared to eg. Europe and the Americas. The Japanese government and people seem to take the virus seriously and I think Covid-secure measures will be planned and implemented at the All Japan Championships. I know Yuzuru will be desperate to compete, but I trust whatever decision he makes, I really do. Looking on Twitter, it’s like you can’t mention any excitement at all at the prospect of seeing Yuzuru skate - I find it impossible NOT to be excited about it, I have butterflies just thinking about it and typing this! Some seem to be applying what has happened in Russia to every other country. I do take the pandemic seriously - but some governments have not and this sets the scene for the country and their skating federations. I have some trust that in Japan things will be made as safe as possible for the athletes, and everyone. Am I the only one to feel like this I wonder? It’s hard to speak an opinion that some will say does not prioritise health, but I think risk can be assessed and appropriate measures put in place to mitigate risk. Maybe it’s not a good idea to post this given the strength of feeling against any competitions from some, but I’ll be brave as I do think other views should be aired too, and also trust my fellow Fanyus to be civil in any disagreement! 🙏🏽🤔 Although I fully acknowledge the validity of worrying about Yuzuru’s (and all the athletes/coaches) health, I just want to be able to express delight at the prospect of watching Yuzuru skate and compete for the first time this season!!! I am pretty sure ALL of us will be cheering him on if he does compete. (If he decides not to, I support him fully with that decision too, of course!)

    Excerpt from the website: Stockholm 2021 – ett annorlunda VM - #skatesweden Facts World Cup 2021 The World Championships will be held 24 -28 March 2021 in Globen. It is one of the world's largest winter sports events and is followed by about 300 million television viewers around the world. In Sweden we will be able to see the competitions in Viasats channels, TV10 and Viaplay. The world championships include world number one olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu and reigning world champion Nathan Chen, women's champion Alexandra Trusova, reigning world champion Wenjing Sui/Cong Han in pairs and Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron in ice dancing. The World Championships are organized by the Swedish Figure Skating Federation in cooperation with the International Skating Union (ISU). The Swedish Government has decided that from 20 November participants in international sporting events will be allowed to enter Sweden. I love how they have named Yuzuru as the headline act! (as they should!) The site also explains about the bubble concept for skaters/coaches etc, and the fact they are not planning an audience (which was news to me!) but looking at digital solutions like streaming instead.     Great pic in the Japan Times about Yuzuru (maybe) competing at JNats (I wish they stated ALL the reasons why he withdrew from GP series, not only because he has asthma....) Yuzuru Hanyu set to compete at national championships | The Japan Times Just a thought - do you think Yuzu (and others) might be able to access the vaccine before the competition?     The #YuzuSkatingParty yesterday included a video of that fabulous broadcast with Eng subs (thank you!!) of Yuzuru in his blue shirt and white pants 💖💖💖 - Sarah Alainn and Yuzuru spoke of their very last live performance together of the Final Time Traveller (in FaOI2014 I assume) being absolutely wonderful - if that is the Toyama one then I have seen it (I dont think it was tho as Yuzu makes a mistake in that one and he would NEVER say that was wonderful lol - although of course it IS wonderful!) - if we know of or have access to that performance that they spoke of I would LOVE to see this included in the birthday videos of Yuzuru’s EXs 🙏🏽😊💕🎉

    Dear Yuzuru, I hope you have a lovely time on your special day, and wish you health and much happiness in your 27th year, and always of course! I have missed you and your beautiful skating so much, but hopefully things will start to improve in 2021, and I look forward to seeing you skate with a joyful heart! From Pammi (England )

    Thanks so much for the videos and translations - it was so much fun watching them. I loved seeing how Yuzuru presented differently with the different interviewers and interview formats. The one with Dai and Tatsuki is interesting as I felt the interviewers focus more on Daisuke than Yuzuru despite Yuzu's gold medal, but that's not surprising as Dai had a successful career and was well loved - it made me think of what interviews after Beijing may look like - maybe again the focus of Japanese media will be on the "old" and very beloved campaigner (ie Yuzuru) regardless of the result....he'll win Gold anyway so we will never know!! THANK YOU again all who are involved in the YuzuSkatingParty events

    I needed the tissues too!! Just so good, and the skating is so recognisably and distinctively Hanyuish and great stamina too I noticed, I kept thinking he was tiring but then along came yet another lovely 2A!!

    Yuzuru would think it's the height of impoliteness to call a woman a name like that I imagine! (Jeff we are looking at YOUUUU!! ) (on the plus side, the music was genius, fabulous, as was the choreo Jeff !! )
