  1. There was something I saw on twitter during practice either yesterday or the day before when he seemed to do a bit of LGC and the fans filming noticed - did anyone see it? Of course it could just be Yuzu trolling, but sometimes he does give us clues eg. njinsky/origin during FaOI2018...
  2. I'd edited my last post after reading your last one @KatjaThera - totally agree re the confidence aspect of this decision!
  3. I think that is one of the factors at the crux of this - he maybe finds SEIMEI to be the less taxing stamina-wise of the 2 programmes (I mean SEIMEI vs Origin). 5 quads is hard for him, he made that clear at GPF - "why does Nathan have to make it even harder?" he said at post FS interview! Nathan has the advantage of youth in this sport that so favours the young! BUT I also think Yuzu'd love to win Worlds with SEIMEI, his dearest programme that is most him, most Japanese, part of his very soul - it didn't win in 2016, he wants to give it another chance. COME ON JUDGES DO THE RIGHT THING!! Edit: just read posts above about TV broadcast and him saying he lost his confidence Yuzu is the GOAT and SEIMEI and Chopin are his masterpeices, he knows he can win with these!! WE know he will win! Gambatte Yuzuru !!
  4. Are we going to change our PH banner as it seems Yuzu has indeed changed his programmes for the rest of the season? I think it's a really exciting time being a Yuzuru fan! I have said before he is amazingly resilient and has always adapted to changes, without complaint or excuses. That's what he is doing now! I know we will all fully support him and cheer him on at 4CC and Worlds and we will be again privileged to see him skate these 2 great programmes, so dear to him and to us. Yuzuru is an expert in his sport and an expert about himself and his capabilities, and I for one believe in his ability to make good choices for his career that have the best chance of success - we know he is in it to win it, and he will make decisions accordingly, whilst bringing his unique and amazing style and skill that we all appreciate so much. I cant wait to see him at 4CC, even more now (if that's possible!) after the news of this change. GO YUZU!!!!
  5. Just watched CoR17 SEIMEI and Yuzu had a 5 quad layout : 4Lz 4Lo 4S 4T, 4T3T,3A2T 3A so he practised that from Summer 17 to his injury Nov 17 - all in the bank waiting to be resurrected!
  6. Didn’t Yuzu initially have a 5 quad layout for SEIMEI at Olys? iirc In early Oly season there was a documentary with Yuzuru talking about SEIMEI layout - he had it written down (in his lovely neat handwriting!) and there was 4loop and 4lutz included - if so, he will have been practising this in Summer 2017 (all training remains in the bank says Brian!), and the only alteration needed is reducing the time by 20 seconds (i know this in itself is tough!) but he may have already have muscle memory of the upgraded programme? if anyone knows the documentary I am referring to it would be great to have a link to check it out! i am off to watch CoR2017 SEIMEI for clues!!
  7. Yuzuru is all seeing and all knowing! He watches us. He told us so at CWW!
  8. He does it himself I thought? Edit - ah I see a post above refers to Yano
  9. Yuzu never won Worlds with SEIMEI or Chopin ... and he’s never won 4CC with any programme and never performed these 2 programmes at 4CC at all ... he won GPF though with them .... so if he manages Gold at 4CC and Worlds in 2020, his two very favourite programmes will have won all 4 major competitions - Olys, Worlds, 4CC and GPF! (Javi, come back and skate them both at next season's Euros and they could do the grandest grand slam lol!! or even better, ISU let Yuzu himself compete at Euros as a special guest, as he is so very special to us all in the FS community!! OK....I know that's not gonna really happen! )
  10. Yuzuru is always full of surprises! I'm not even going to guess if this is real or a typo! We only have 2 days to wait for the "confession" and if it is going to be Chopin and Seimei I'm a bit peeved that ISU have taken away the surprise that he obviously wanted to give us all - he LOVES to surprise us after all ! It gives him great pleasure to hear/see/read our views (eg. CWW - all 3 days with his Zig, Etude and R&J costumes - he could hardly contain his delight at our responses when the lights came on!!). Anyway, whatever you think is best Yuzuru, I am totally up for it and ready to support you wholeheartedly, as always!
  11. Haha that IS what he said following his 4A practice at GPF ie. no one there to tell him not to do it!! but ..... that precious precious right ankle might be the new Ghislain!?! the thing that stops him from wilding post retirement? (Mind you, Yuzuru is such a show off, if quints become a thing in competition, I can’t really imagine him NOT showing everyone that he can do those as well as anyone else lol!) It’s fun musing about what he’ll be like over the next few years
  12. When he did PW at Skate Canada I wondered straight away whether this season he would be going through older beloved and venue/people-relevant programmes for his EXs as another step towards the full circle of his competitive career - and he HAS been doing that this season, and it’s been such fun guessing what he’s going to show us at the next event! (He started this at CWW with his step sequences from 9 competitive programmes). Is this all part of his r-planning I wonder? It doesn’t prepare him for life outside of competition, but it might be one way he feels a sense of a proper international goodbye to some of his competitive programmes?
  13. Such a thoughtful post. Same. I worry about him too, and how (and where) he will manage a different life. It needs a different skill set to the one he has focussed on. His amazing resilience and ability to adapt will come in very handy though!
  14. Travelling by plane - recycled air - recycled viruses ! The number of times I have come down with a cold virus after flying.... we will have to see how things develop. I’m supposed to be flying to Montreal from UK in 7 weeks, thank goodness I took out cancellation insurance on the flight at least! edit: sorry I sound like I am forgetting the potential human cost here, of course the MAIN thing is that ppl are protected as much as possible, treated well and taken care of, and that loss of human life is kept to the minimum- wishing everyone keeps safe and well, including the skaters who will be travelling, and of course Yuzuru too who has to be extra careful due to his asthma 🙏🙏💕
