  1. Something is going on. First Mishin says it'd be the best to combine Lutz and Flip, then the BV changes and then Bianchetti's words...but his reasoning doesn't make any sense.
  2. Javi showed his Olympic medal
  3. Pj Kwong's live video interview with Javi begins now
  4. She posted other pictures as well and since Stephen is on one of them, it is an old picture, probably from last year. Nice picture anyway!
  5. Nice! https://www.marca.com/deportes-invierno/2020/05/06/5eb292e3ca4741ff538b457d.html
  6. Rafal gave an interview, I post here the parts about Chen. https://russian.rt.com/sport/article/745674-arutyunyan-trusova-plyuschenko-tutberidze
  7. Rafael Arutunyan gave a long interview to Elena Vaytsekhovskaya https://russian.rt.com/sport/article/745674-arutyunyan-trusova-plyuschenko-tutberidze I'll post the bits about Chen in the Team USA thread, but here's the rest, mainly about Trusova and Russian skating.
  8. Interview with Plushy https://rsport.ria.ru/20200512/1571294491.html He says Trusova and her parents called him and he didn’t persuade anyone. The decision was made quite a while ago, they're now preparing official documents which can be finalised by 15 May. He wants Trusova to become an all-around skater with good technique, spins, step sequences and charisma, and to achieve that, they plan to invite several Russian and foreign choreographers and specialists to work with her. There are two groups at Plushenko's Academy now, a joint one that consist of Plushenko, Rozanov and Mikhailov and the other one is Alexander Volkov’s group. He mentions Yuzu: He promises more big news this off-season.
  9. It sounds like they won't solve the problem with it but the results will be the same with perhaps less overscoring. So that in the end the result looks less bad. Yes, Boyang can be punished with the new changes the most. And skaters like Shoma or Daniel Grassl could benefit from them a lot.
  10. Everything will go down how the tech panel and judges will apply these changes, anyway I am not too optimistic as long as there is no real accountability and the technology, the tools they use remain the same. - New Lakernik interview on Sport Express, google translated:
  11. If there's any GP Series next season then the announcement could be some time late June I think. Last year we had it in 20 June, before that on 29 June. In 2017 it was announced earleir, in May, because of the Olympic season.
  12. Yes. If you click on the link you can see she deleted her whole profile.
  13. Wasn't she the one who quickly deleted that post?
  14. She had a foot injury after the Olympics, they skipped the 2018 GP series, and then she returned at Nationals at the end of 2018 but I haven't heard anything about them since then. ETA: she was on partner search last year! I think he also had some injury. He is well into his 30s so not sure they'll return.
  15. I've got Savchenko/Szolkowy's Send in the Clowns costume. Her costume was nice, his was too fun...it is a melancholic piece after all. And the face paint...but that looked probably good from afar in the arena.
  16. Zheleznyakov sounds angry in the interview, it sounds as if Eteri told him what to say here. Strange. And why drag Yuzu and Johnny into it? Unnecessary.
  17. Interview with Volkov: https://sport24.ru/news/other/2020-05-07-trener-volkov---o-perekhode-trusovoy-ne-dumayu-chto-u-plyushchenko-yest-tsel-sorevnovatsya-s-tutberidze Trainer Volkov - on Trusova’s transition: “I don’t think Plushenko has a goal to compete with Tutberidze” Alexander Volkov, Academy coach Evgeni Plushenko, shared his expectations of working with Alexandra Trusova after her departure from the group of Eteri Tutberidze. Volkov coached Trusov before her transition to Tutberidze. “We ended up working with Trusova four years ago. Since then we have not talked. I am pleased about Trusova's transfer to Plusheko. Will I work with her? Each athlete has the right to decision. Trusova needs more stable quadruples. Still need an emphasis on skating, because if she fails the jumps, she gets on the second mark lower than Kostornaya and other girls. And, of course, a triple axel. Still, adult skating is slightly different from youthful, it should be more feminine. Trusova was given the disposition to jump, here it is necessary to improve the cleanliness, glide quality, and beauty of her skating. If the child decided to go, then there is no catch. I do not think that Plushenko has a goal compete with Tutberidze. He does his job, and does it well. I think Trusova will be the number one because she will be the strongest athlete in our group. Do I want to work with her again? Of course, it'd be interesting. Time will tell, working towards this."
  18. I betrayed Gorshkov because the ghost of Alois Lutz told me to. It sounds dark lol Yes, Rozanov was one of the coaches who was responsible for quads, 3A. I am curious what will happen to Kostornaya who said she worked with Rozanov very well (her 3A was thanks to him). And yes, It sounds Plush wants to do less shows, and focus more on coaching/competitions. It really makes me think that something is going on with Eteri. The first source which said Eteri barely has contact with her students online also raises questions...especially that she's so far away from Russia.
  19. It's really interesting how things will continue. I think Rozanov leaving Team Tutberidze is more surprising and maybe a bigger loss in the long term than Sasha leaving Eteri. I am also curious if it is really true that Eteri has barely any contact with her students lately and she's been in the US for a long time now
  20. Yes, I agree, they depend on the federation a lot and there are only very few skaters who are so established who can/could pay to train abroad (one is Medvedeva the other would be Zagitova - but she won't). Trusova is a different case. He wasn't really known to be good at details when he was a skater. Tutberidze knows IJS very well and uses the system while Plush is at disadvantage there (at least now). I think Sasha's GOEs and PCS will go down especially if she loses consistency.
  21. Yes, definitely! We'll open threads for it
  22. Plushenko and everyone else will talk as soon as the documents arrive to Gorshkov/RusFed and it becomes official.
  23. On a long term, maybe yes, but now there wouldn't enough time to Trusova to adjust to Raf's training methods, there is less than 2 years before the Olympics. And who knows if Trusova continues after that. Nathan has been skating there for a very long time, it's hard to compare anyway... And what Lunna said, I doubt RusFed wanted to send one of their good skaters to abroad, and she doesn't have that many sponsors/money unlike Medvedeva. I think Marin's ship has sailed a while ago, tbh
  24. Alexander Volkov, Trusova's former coach works in Plushenko's group so it is possible he will be Trusova's coach there. http://angelsofplushenko.com/trenerskii-sostav.html ETA: Russia Today's article https://russian.rt.com/sport/news/695119-trusova-zayavlenie-uhod-tutberidze
