  1. I am sure she is. But she was born in Moscow and grew up there. I am sceptical about her going back to competitions. She was very injured a year ago.
  2. Some very nice pictures from the medal ceremony at Cup of Russia 2011, the competition where Yuzu won his first Grand Prix gold medal. He looked so happy there! (I'm posting it here because we haven't posted here for ages and it's related to RJ1 :D) https://yadi.sk/a/_zRuHDjY3UnBEB
  3. I have seen the original post in German and I'm not sure it is really true because they didn't say which rule it was/didn't link to them either...it sounded a bit vague. We'll see next week but hopefully things will be OK with her papers.
  4. Not sure if we get a stream this time but we'll see. Senior ice dancers won't participate at the test event, I think they are stuck in USA/Russia. I am curious about Ivett and her programs, plus Júlia Láng.
  5. Roman uploaded a video in which he shared his opinion about the GP Series this fall. I am posting this here not the Canada thread because the subject is more general.
  6. We haven't seen him for a month now. We miss him
  7. It took me a second to realise it's not Alexandra Stepanova the ice dancer but an ex-figure skater who has the same name...I was wondering what did Alexandra want to do with Tutberidze?! She criticises Eteri's group a lot although she hasn't really trained with her, she decided not to join the team, or she claims so. But I wouldn't be surprised there was truth in what she says.
  8. Trusova's new free skate is Romeo and Juliet First part “ Kissing you “ by Craig Armstrong ,second part “Gentle night” by Abel Korzeniowski, third part “Montagues and Capulets” by Richard Clayderman
  9. Thanks! The event thread for the junior test skate can be found here!
  10. The event thread for the junior test skates can be found here:
  11. It seems so. After the leg kick she did a very similar movement Carolina Kostner had in her Bolero LP.
  12. Elena could be a good choice for Angels of Plushenko, she had great skating skills as an ice dancer who hopefully will be able to pass her knowledge to the next generations.
  13. It's fair there won't be virtual competitions, and I hope it won't return as an option in case they won't be able to organize the GP series. Many Americans were hoping for virtual comps which I disagree with, it is too risky in terms of judging in my opinion and the format wouldn't make much sense. To record programs at the place skaters practice wouldn't be called competitions and the scores could be easily manipulated. So I've just read Chen thought there would be virtual comps and I disagree with him too (I haven't read the NBC article itself). ISU's decision raised more questions but I sort of understand they don't want to cancel all international competitions in the fall. Skaters need competitons after such a long time and not everyone will be able to compete at domestic events. Some big federations would have it maybe easier, but small feds that don't even have regionals, would be in trouble. I don't know how they will handle some things (Skate America in general, Osaka, GPF being in China), but I guess we will know more by the end of the month.
  14. I am curious if this is one of her competitive programs. Ivett talked about her new programs, her LP will be to Avatar movie soundtrack.
  15. The Disciplinary Commission (DC) of ISU has posted the final decision in the complaint of ISU vs Michela Cesaro (Italy) regarding the violation of the duties of the judges and the Code of Ethics. In short, Cesaro judged at Junior Worlds 2020 in the Ice Dance RD event and while the ISU admitted in the decision that the judge overscored the Italian couple and underscored the French one in the event, the complaint was dimissed nonetheless - they explained that there was 'hidden preference' of the Italian couple, however it remains only at the level of suspicion without evidence of intentional national bias. So since there is no direct proof of bias, malice or bad faith, ISU can't do anything. The funny thing is that one of the complainant in this case was the Ice Dance Technical Committee, and its two members worked at the Ice Dance RD event at Junior Worlds, the Referee was Hilary Selby (Great Britain) and the Controller was Shawn Rettstatt (USA). ISU said that since both the Referee and the OAC (Officials Assessment Commission) evaluated the marks of the judge, but have not challenged them the ISU DC panel has no evidence of national bias. The decision: https://www.isu.org/inside-isu/isu-communications/communications/24798-case-2020-02-isu-vs-cesaro-final-decision-for-publication-01-08-2020/file?fbclid=IwAR1GISS39ZP68gUlRBqfKSIQJVUPBmwnvAcGu2-FtTzZSubKbHOJAL4EOFs Panel of Judges at Ice Dance RD: http://www.isuresults.com/results/season1920/wjc2020/SEG007OF.htm I think such decisions are based too much on politics, and this is the reason I am skeptical about any complaints. If ISU wants to ban someone, they will do it, however if there was enough evidence against someone who they don't want to ban, then I am afraid they won't do that. I also question why there was such a complaint against this particular judging while there could be so many other cases as well.
  16. It can be bad luck because Eteri really gains a lot if her students all have good sponsorships deals. But I thought it was a bit strange all of them (Alina, Anna, Sasha) have deals except Alena especially considering she's got everything to get the best deal after Alina (I mean the success in her first senior season, looks etc). I always felt even when Alena won everything, Anna was favored by the team, mostly by Daniil. Anna got great PR before the World Championships too.
  17. Figure Skate magazine/BB Mook 2020/21 season Vol.1 will also come out, on 18 August
  18. It may be possible she trained the new programs, she realised after a while she didn't like them, then the training of 3A didn't go well either...so she had enough. The new LP was posted on Daniil's IG on 10 July, so a few days before things happened.
  19. Maybe they thought she would come back and waited a bit. I believe more what Plush said simply because it doesn't make that much sense if Alena made the decision in May and stayed at Sambo more than 2 months and let the team make her new programs. That's a waste of time.
  20. They would have denied it if it wasn't true. I think Plush will talk tomorrow.
  21. After Rozanov left I was wondering what would happen to Kostornaia and her jumps, maybe I am not that surprised by the fact that she left Eteri. The timing of this news is strange though. I'll be curious what Alena and Plushy say about this. Eteri mentions a list and Daniil doesn't say anything about it so something is not quite clear here. I guess I'll eat my bag of popcorn that I bought yesterday and wait for Eteri's TV appearance
  22. The new DX magazine will come out on 11 August.
