It might be possible that he'll make up his mind about 4Ltz/FS layout after skating Ballade and seeing the SP results... I mean, if he pulls an ACI '17 Chopin or if his main rivals happen to make many mistakes he might not feel the need to go all out in the FS and risk it being unclean

These days every news about him make me panic and this one was no different, but after thinking about it carefully, I think he made a wise decision. By skipping the Team Event he'll avoid some of the worst case scenarios: injuring or tiring himself before the individual competition, the frustration of performing better early on than when it matters; the GPF-2015-esque pressure and high expectations on him(self) in case he goes clean; and if he bombs, the pressure of having to prove himself in the individual event.

In this new article there’s a video interview where Javier talks about Yuzuru, I thought you might be interested so I’ve translated it (sorry if this is the wrong thread for it): “We’re as different as night and day. We’re very different in terms of our personalities, the way we act, the way we train- in absolutely everything. We’re training mates, we share conversations and the ice. (Interviewer: But are you friends?) We’re training mates. But friends… that’d be difficult since our lives are very different and also, he’s a guy who has many things that... I don’t have. The thing is, companionship is often the most important thing because we also share hard times such as our training sessions. So our companionship is high, we get on very well, but we don’t go out to drink or eat together like friends do.”

This MAD gave me chills. I usually dislike when people put a song over his programmes but this one matched perfectly with his skating and the editing was wonderful. The lyrics are beautiful and they really represent him. He should definitely skate to this song

thank you The funny thing is, I never expected the video to get so popular. I only made it because I wanted to have a compilation of all of his K&C reactions to his WRs to watch over and over again by myself since they make me so happy. It wasn't my intention to upload it but I did it so I could watch it anytime anywhere.

my "Yuzuru Hanyu Reacting to His First 11 World Records" video has surpassed 200k views and it seems to have caught the attention of many non-fans. today I saw this comment under the video that made me emotional.

Does anyone know what time the men's individual SP and FS at PC will start? Even if you don't know the exact time, do you have an idea if they'll skate in the morning or in the afternoon? How long might it last? I'm asking since it'll be my first time watching fs at Olys. I'll be busy those days so I need to know if I'll be able to watch live or not

172cm and 57kg?! i can't believe this... he's exactly the same height and weight as me... (i'm a 17-yr-old girl) though a big difference, of course, is that he's 99% muscle while i'm 99% fat lmao nevertheless- Yuzu, just know i'm willing to lend you both my legs whenever you need them

I haven't posted in a long time because the past weeks have been devastating for me. On top of worrying about Yuzu hearing pessimistic news about him, one of the people I loved most commited suicide last month. Jonghyun brought so much happiness and strength to my life. It's been so hard to cope with losing him and seeing my favorite group suffering deeply. The first SHINee concert since Jonghyun's death will be on February 17th... which is the same day as the Men's FS at Pyeongchang- the day the OGM winner will be defined. I'm scared that day will be too stressful and emotionally exhausting for me, and I don't know how I'll deal with everything happening at the same time without breaking down. I know that second OGM is Yuzu's dream and he's worked hard his entire life for it, so it breaks my heart that he's had to deal with many hardships this season. Whether he wins or loses is not my main concern anymore, though. I just hope the pressure and stress isn't affecting his mental health. I hope he knows that his worth and our pride and love for him is unchangeable.

It's finally midnight in Argentina! I wish the happiest of birthdays to our ice prince. He may not be able to receive the thing he wished for most, but I hope he gets an enormous amount of love and presents that will make up for it. He also deserves to relax and have fun on his birthday for once. Since today is his special day, I'll repeat for the millionth time how grateful and lucky I am to be living in the era of Yuzuru Hanyu. He should feel extremely proud of having become a legend at just 23 and having fought so hard for every single accomplishment. I want to see more of his majestic skating and his brightest smile throughout the next year. And I hope that health complications will never get in the way of his ambitions and dreams again.

But can you imagine how much more massive the final Pooh rain will be (the one after his last performance as a competitive skater)... I don't usually like thinking about his r* but it's nice to picture how much love he'll get then
-
i wish H*rsh and other critics would get that... even though a second OGM would be a dream come true no matter the circumstances, I believe that his main goal is ultimately performing his "ideal skate" which would mean surpassing his PB score and ideally, doing it at the right time. I might not be a world-class athlete myself but as a perfectionist I get where he's coming from and I've never questioned his conviction to increase his BV each season. in other words, in his mind, he's competing against himself so surpassing his own limits would satisfy him more than having an "easy win"

I've come across this spectacular fanvid and I can't help tearing up... I swear the song was written about him http://www.bilibili.com/video/av13830020/ "Seconds, hours, so many days You know what you want but how long can you wait? Every moment lasts forever When you feel you lost your way With every step you climb another mountain Every breath it's harder to believe You make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes To get to that one thing Just when you think the road is going nowhere Just when you almost gave up on your dreams They take you by the hand and show you that you can There are no boundaries I fought to the limit to stand on the edge What if today is as good as it gets? Don't know where the future's headed But nothing's gonna bring me down I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line I've risked being saved but I always knew why You can go higher, you can go deeper There are no boundaries above and beneath you Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you and your dreams"

(sorry for ranting in advance) i'm fed up with seeing the people I love suffering from stuff they don't deserve... on tuesday, a classmate who was one of the kindest and most loved people i've known commited suicide. he was my best friend's best friend and what hurts most is seeing her so devastated. she keeps crying and blaming herself and i feel so powerless... i was counting on watching Yuzu perform at NHK to brighten up my mood a bit. the news about his inevitable WD make me feel just as powerless. i'd give him both my ankles and legs if I could. why is the universe so unfair to the nicest people? i'd give everything to see both him and my friend genuinely happy again. i just want this cursed week to end. i'm so thankful that this community exists- the Planet has helped me remain positive and cope with the stress/worry about Zu. i'm glad he prioritised his health, i'm sending him all my love and wishing him a speedy recovery. i'm positive he'll get through this and come back stronger... hugs to all of you guys as well

Yuzuru Hanyu es el mejor de la historia

I made a compilation of all the times Yuzu's been lifted by other skaters just for science http://skaistars.tumblr.com/post/166696800590/male-skaters-lifting-yuzu

interviewer: why would you want to be a cat? yuzu *in his head*: because cats always land on their feet

I'm used to seeing male football fans cry all the time on tv and that's seen as normal.. As an Argentinian, I remember hearing male commentators cry about Messi and the national team more than once, and no one questions that However, when girls are fans of something, we get mocked for it... It's not exclusively about figure skating, sadly it also happens to girl fans of kpop, boybands, tv shows...

sorry but I need to get this off my chest It's funny that Yuzuru is regarded by some as #The inconsistent male skater when he actually hasn't ended with bronze (or below!) since 2014... In fact, since 2012, he's finished below 2nd place only 3 times: (bronze at Worlds 2012, and 4th at WC'13 and NHK '14 - this last one is, of course, justifiable since it took place right after CoC'14) Meanwhile, let's compare it to the other top 5 guys... (Since 2012 only): Javier (10 times): 9th at Worlds 2012, bronze at Worlds 2013 and 2014, 4th at Worlds 2017, 4th at GPF 2012 and 2016, 4th at NHK 2012, 5th at NHK 2013, bronze at CoR 2013 and Finlandia 2012 Patrick: (7 times): 5th at WC '16 and '17, 4th at 4CC 2017, 3rd, 4th and 5th at GPF '12, '15, '16, 5th at Bompard '15 Shoma: (7 times) 7th at WC 2016; 5th, 4th and 3rd at 4CC '15, '16 and '17; bronze at last two GPFs, 5th at US Classic 2015 Boyang: (5 times) 3rd at WC '16 and '17, 5th at 4CC '17, GPF '15 and Skate America 2016 Nathan: 6th at Worlds 2017, 4th at Trophee de France 2016 Not to mention that no other man has broken a World Record since 2013... It's fine if Yuzu wants to improve his consistency or isn't satisfied with his performance -by his own standards-. But it’s just unfair to push the narrative that someone who has been getting nothing but gold and silver for the past 3 seasons is somehow weaker than his rivals, and pick on his mistakes more strictly than anyone else's
-
i used to kind of blame myself for Yuzu's flops too because every program i'd been able to stream live turned out disappointing... i even avoided watching Worlds LP live for this reason and i still regret having missed such greatness.. because of that i decided i'd never miss a live performance again.. then the recent Chopin WR happened and i realized that being a fanyu is a rollercoaster of emotions but in the end the ride is totally worth it- so i think you should definitely watch the next competitions live
-
I would've never imagined I'd have to update my video this soon Today was not my first time watching a competition live but it certainly felt different than ever before. Actually, I used to think I was kind of a jinx to Yuzu since every performance I'd been able to watch live had rather disappointing results - another curse that was broken today! I'd never watched him skate clean live (let alone break a WR!!) and I'm still shaking. It was truly a privilege to watch his magic live i hope Yuzu keeps delivering throughout the season but first and foremost, that he stays as healthy as possible

This isn't about the possible Seimei costume but it's still related to Yuzu's look: ...what if he dyed his hair for the new season or especifically during Oly's week? That'd certainly be cool and unique. I find it strange that I never see his fans discuss this possibility. I mean, I've never seen a male skater with dyed hair but since Yuzu doesn't stray away from extravagant costumes, I don't think he'd dislike the idea of trying different hair colours. What colours do you guys think would suit him?
-
I couldn't agree more!! as much as I loved H&L, and i think it was a good choice for the pre-Oly season, soft and delicate programs aren't my favorite. i want music more upbeat for his LP this time, but not as a fun performance like LGC. something as impactful, dramatic, intense as Seimei.

hi everyone! i'm Celeste, from Argentina i have terrible luck, lol- i had joined GS only about a week ago so i didn't get to post much there or get to know you guys. it makes me immensely happy that now we have this new place fully dedicated to Yuzu thanks to all the admins for your hard work !!! i'll try to be active here as well as in the spanish discussion thread, it's very nice to meet you all and share our love for our king

another Joe Hisaishi piece, the OST of one of my favorite movies it'd be so beautiful if Yuzu skated to it ...
