I think your analysis is right... I had the same worry and that's exactly the reason why I kept insisting I'd have been proud of him no matter the color of his medal. I was so scared that he'd look as devastated as in Boston if he got Silver.. I'd have been genuinely proud of him too if he had gotten 2nd or 3rd place because that'd have been worthy of praise and a very impressive achievement due to his condition. But the fact that he managed to get the OGM was an almost superhuman feat, he's beyond incredible and admirable
