I'm curious what type of water you need to get ice like that.

That has got to be the worst ice I've ever seen in my life. It looks like they drenched the surface with animal pee and mud, spread it around, tossed in sewer water for good measure, before glazing it over with normal tap water to freeze.

The cracks...that surface looks so hard, it might crack my toe pick, and there goes my toe jumps. :slinkaway:

Are they serious??!

How do you explain having that ice for an international competition? How do you explain letting that ice used for an international competition?

I mean, I hope it just looks bad, and not actually is bad, for the sake of the skaters.

Spoiler

For me, it looks like they take the water from the infamous led-poisoned tap water of the city of Flint, Michigan, USA. I am so sorry my reference is often too political. I can also say, it's the water you usually see in 'the advertisement for water initiative projects aimed at "3rd world countries" suffering from long drought'. In my hometown, there's a specific area where the well water is that colour (some minerals, mainly sulphur). We use it for cleaning the animal stables.
