Well, they gave  Satoko some extra oomf on some of her jumps... maybe that was enoug home cooking for the day. 

 

That being said, everyone skated really well. It was an excellent competition. 

yes great competition, mostly clean which is all we can ask for

Wow edge call for Kaetlyn...strange. And a whopping 0 UR calls. Ok.

The tech panel screwed my predictions. (And Caro's pop too...)

Not to jinx her, but Kaetlyn with her huge jumps  (and her being rarely clean in the free) will have hard time getting gold. Tbh, if Alina falters I think Satoko will win, because...Well,  she's consistent and tech panel decided that's enough.

Still it was a good event, beautiful programs and I really like the diversity of these six ladies 

alina and satoko somehow have the same ss score of 8.71 🤔🤔🤔 

+goe for kaetlyn's ! call but -goe for wakaba's ! call 🤔🤔🤔 

can the judges even comprehend this judging mess themselves? not convinced they'd be able to tbh

Yes, if Alina falters, Satoko has a shot. Her jumps have very little risk, whereas Kaetlyn sometimes flies uncontrollably up there. If Kaetlyn hits,  i am still unsure how the judges would mark that... it is sometimes hard to guess which way they want to go, but without Med here to give a definite Russia win.... I think they choose Alina. 

 

I never go with who I believe is better... rather, guess who the judges want to win vs that skater's actual delivery and if it is fairly good, they win. 

Wakaba should have won the SP.
