So, what does everyone think of Keiji and Satoko trying out a bit of pairs for The Ice, doing R&J? It kind of highlights how few Japanese pair skaters there are, but I also think they look nice together.

For sure it was fun for them LOL. Satoko was not exactly new to pair elements. She was yeeted *to infinity and beyond* (I can't resist adding the reference LOL) by Yamato before, many moons ago. They do look nice together, but IMO it's most likely fun and stuff.

Comments from Gensan Summer Cup:

Mana Kawabe says the theme of her SP is "Snow Queen." She currently isn't considering including 3A in her SP. She says that she will consider it after she becomes able to skate her new SP cleanly with the current jump layout.

Wakaba changed her SP to Your Song choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne. Wakaba says that although Primavera enabled her to show a new side of her, she hasn't been able to "own" the program yet, so she thought, "Maybe now is not the time?" Wakaba felt Your Song contained various feelings such as sadness and happiness, but she wants to express the happy feeling in her program.

Comments from Gensan Summer Cup 2:

Satoko decided to revisit Song for the Little Sparrow SP (YESSS!) because she found the new one a bit difficult and wanted to go back to the piece that would enable her to skate more courageously/confidently. She could not return to her training base in Canada during this off-season. While staying in Japan, she has been working with coach Takeshi Honda to rework her jump techniques. Lori Nicole also helped her remotely by tweaking the program (especially before the 2A and during the Stsq)

Yuma Kagiyama thought about keeping his SP for the last season but decided to skate to a new one thinking he needed to grow in a new direction for the audience and for himself to feel that he has changed. Lori selected the new song so that he could make everyone smile because we were in a situation like this.

Good for him for thinking he needs to branch out, but IMO "When you're smiling" feels like a "been there, done that" for him. It's the same jazzy, catchy stuff he has skated to very often.

"Vocussion" was weird but at least it attempted at something different.

Anyway, going the Micheal Buble route will surely appeal to the audience more easily so good move from Lori, I guess?
