Zhenya got high scores today for that performance. And with Kostner's mistakes, her first place was secured anyway.

Polina's jumps really heal my hear  The best of them resemble Yuzu's ones sometimes.

Zhenya at least got her TES score over 70, so even with 70 PCS, and her 10 points over Polina, she still would have won with Polina getting 70 in PCS. No way would Caro had gone anywhere near silver with that 63 TES if they hadn't given her that monster PCS score. Which was the point.

Camera showed Polina's 3Lz-3T from a good angle today (unlike yesterday...), if this high, perfectly executed combination, with wonderful distance, flow and landing didn't get +3 GOE, then I don't know what should, really.

She might actually be the equivalent of Yuzu in the ladies field on the jumps. I haven't paid that much attention to her, unfortunately, so I'm not aware if she has any weaker jumps. But gosh, those jumps, she nearly hit the boards on those toe jumps, the vault is amazing. I also wish for better choreography for her--she's probably more my cup of tea, in that she skates and flows with the music rather than go for drama character pieces. I think her posture is fine, and paying attention to how she holds her limbs, she would be so striking on ice. Her presence on ice is already quite good!

Even if Ashley places second at Skate America, Wakaba's in. If Ashley wins it, and Polina's second, then Polina is the one to tie break with Wakaba in total score, so we'll have to see. Only issue would be if Osmond melts down in France and gives Maria a chance for silver.

I know, Polina had absolutely no chance against Zhenya today. I think Medvedeva got higher points than what she deserved today, but no one could have beaten her anyway.

I think Polina was underscored in PCS and should have won the silver medal.

Darn injuries  

I hope Zhenya will recover, but it's worrying that whatever she had got worse since COR. and just when I was starting to appreciate her skating more...
