[2017] GP NHK Trophy (10-12.11) - Practice, Fluff & all the In-betweens + Gala

Featured Replies

Back when Adam Rippon trained at TCC, he developed a very close relationship with Ghislain. Even after Adam dumped Brian as his coach, he still continued to train at TCC with Ghislain until (I assume) things became too uncomfortable there.

So I'm thinking that Ghislain probably excels at developing strong emotional bonds with skaters.

literally what I got:

"NHK Cup venue next to the ice rink http://www.nhk.or.jp/osaka-blog/totteokinews/283688.html … seems to have slipped here than Hanyu."

"Hanyu Quad Lutz in final tickets! NHK Cup prospect"

google translate is making no sense for these right now

What I understand from google translate of the second article is that basically he aims to give a performance with better quality than the one at CoR, and ride an upward trajectory, similar to how last season he reached 300 points at NHK.

And also mention of Satoko's injury and her affirming Nationals are her focus but the GP series provides a means to get back to competition first. Then a mention of whether Rika can fix her UR issues from the last competition.

I still want my LGC EX :pouty:

I hated the idea at first but lately I’ve come to love it so, so much. It’s so slick and fast and incredible. It crept up on me without my even realising it and now I have sad dreams about never seeing it again!

So this is my wish for Yuzuru in NHK:

dear :pouty:

I don't even care about what you do in your practices (as long as you don't hurt yourself:hachimaki:), just in competition make all the rotations of your jumps and land them on the right foot (which for would be the left one for the half loop and the right one for all the other jumps. I'm trying to be really detailed here with my wish. :tumblr_inline_mueoe3Yabh1qdlkyg:And this is a wish, not a prediction, mind you).:acceptable: Enjoy!:tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid::tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid::tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:

ETA: I can't believe I'm still catching up from COR, have to catch up some stuff from ACI, I've never caught up with all the open day stuff and I'm something like 30 pages behind in the main chat (yesterday night they were 20:sadPooh:) and now NHK is here. :13877886:

Good, good.

BTW Briand is a jump coach. Considering his Lz/Lo potential issues, it's good he's there.

He didn't have the best of seasons and then apparently there was a difference of opinions on how to continue onward; IIRC, it was because of how he wanted to be paced throughout the season. Then he was with Briand for a while, then switched to Dungien, then soon after that, maybe a year, switched to Raf. Before Orser, Adam was with Morozov but that didn't last long either, maybe a year or so. To me it seems like it took a while to find the right coach.

What I do remember is that since Rippon left after Yuna left, some were predicting the slow, painful death of TCC/Orser and how they were done for now that the best skaters were gone. Looking back, it's hilarious in the extreme.

For a second I thought you're talking abt Yuzuru doing 4Lz-3Lo and I was ready to freak the f*ck out :tumblr_inline_mm2wbbdJC51qz4rgp:

I completely forgot about something when talking about Rippon so had to come back. Old age.

Anyway, consider this. If Rippon hadn't left, would Brian have accepted when a month later he was called about Javier? Maybe not. And if Javier had not joined TCC... life is strange.
