Kolyada's won't be the first (and last) SP skate that didn't quite deserve to go beyond 100 but did anyways. So, regarding step, for now we have:

1) Clear step = Hanyu, SE into 4L (or whatever he'll put there lol)
2) No clear step = Chen, Kolyada, Uno.

Can someone who understand these things watch Jin and Fernandez, and please tell me if at least they follow the rules? Because if it's unclear with them as well, then... yes, Yuzuru does look like the dumb one.

Not dumb- stubborn.  I'm sure he's well aware of what goes on - but he's a perfectionist, thankfully.

It will be interesting to see how K copes with skating last - if he manages well it might be a real breakthrough confidence wise - might be quite a turning point.  If he doesn't it will be a pity but he'll be in good company.

Kolyada skate last tomorrow. This would be a real test for him.

@Murieleirum : Javi does has steps before his 4S. I think Boyang has it too, although he pause abit before the jump ( I'm not really sure about this, so correct me if I'm wrong).

I just checked. Yes, they both have the step. Well, at least Yuzu has some company! We are 3 vs 3 right now. For me, it's a scandal but okay.

Shoma has some steps, they're just not quite clear and/or immediately preceding. I think the rulebook usually allows for -1/-2 in those cases?

I only saw the last group skate the Men's SP this morning so I just watched Vincent's skate now. Such an awesome start; such a shame about the two falls.

But his overall skating has noticeably improved and I enjoyed his program despite the errors.

I wish he could move to Toronto and train with Brian and Tracy and all the other top coaching talent at TCC. He just turned 17 so he would be hitting his prime just in time for the next Olympics.

Shoma does something - not sure anyone has been able to label it - shouldn't it be a recogniseable step?  If Tanaka has to do it so should Uno - fed up with BESP double standards

Do they give those scores to him though? Mmh. That's the problem. Max and Angelo talked about this in the 4th episode or something, If I'm not mistaken. Especially in the Free, the way in which Shoma racks up points is quite impressive.

it must be the camera angle or something because i find it hard to believe these guys are similar height...?

i always thought javi and kolyada would be much taller (given how tiny boyang is next to vincent and adam)

wow, i always thought mikhail was pretty tall!  well at least he looks pretty tall when i watch him in videos and stuff...

maybe it's because he is slim so he looks tall...

i always thought javi was taller than boyang too

cuz boyang always seems so tiny...

but then again boyang is still growing so...

Boyang was already as tall as Yuzu last year. He has big head and the camera angle is from Boyang's side  :2thumbsup:

Btw, Keiji didn't have the step preceding his 4Salchow. Max and Angelo have made it their goal in the broadcast today to find out which skaters have it and which don't xD

I'll wait for their list, then.

Ah! I should do it for you xD I'm at Max Aaron now. No step!

They started talking about steps after Han Yan fell on his jump preceded by a difficult step. They appreciated his effort and said what we're all saying here now, the system is being applied unfairly yadda yadda xD

@xeyra They are being savage. With Kolyada, right after the 4Lz:

Both: Wow! (Honestly impressed by the jump)
Angelo: Shoma Uno style. (Meaning: no real attempt for step. They are being sarcastic the whole exchange through)
Max: So you should give him +2.
*the score for Lutz comes out*
Max: They did.
Angelo: Voilà. They are coherent.

Misha's 4Lz > Shoma's 4F, tho. Sorry, Shoma!

But omg, lol.

The SP results are just :knc_yuzu1: Misha don't bomb the FS pretty please :snonegai:

Good job Kenji! :smiley-happy105:

I think Boyang's SP is good just not best skate today

Yes, obv they loved the jump, they said technically it was amazing and Kolyada's performance was superb. Actually, Max said it should have taken more on the PCS side. He doesn't see 3 points difference between Kolyada and Fernandez.

He can't do it. If he does it once, it will be an "evidence" for someone to attack or spread the rumor of no T......... , E....And no S....Forever. thanks to the perfectionist, we can enjoy the great performance.<3

I am curious what judges will do in the meeting or dinner after SP considering the interesting GOE of 4lz. Hopefully they won't reach a consensus to give +3 together next time:slinkaway: congratulations for landing the 4lz‼

I think its clearly judges know the rules, but for some reason, they apply it in a selective way. Nowadays even the TES is subjective. They didnt call Han's 4T as a fall too.

Sometimes I wonder why Yuzuru make it hard for himself by adding too many difficult transitions into his program. But who knows, the moment he dare to take it out, they will kill his GOE :slinkaway:
