kaeryth
Not surprised with Nathan's 6 quad plan (he might even go for 7) since he is going for broke with this Olympics, so of course he's bringing out the big guns. I pray for his hips and knees and overall health.

Could you do a calculation what would Nathan's realistically, average GOE, not yet clean SP and FS with a little stumble or two marks he would get

I would like to remind people that Nathan's issues at Worlds were partly due to his boot problems. It's impossible to know what would have happened if he hadn't those issues and if he could manage that 6-quad program, but I wouldn't put it past him. MrPudding
Am I terrible for lowkey hoping that Nathan could pull off a clean-ish skate both SP and FS at Cup of Russia so we get to see what the starting point for him there for this season. And to somehow awake the demon inside Yuzu for that 4Lz.... I'll excuse myself now.
Neenah
I just hope Nathan gets a good FP this season and stay healthy... last season's free was quite disappointing for the athletic feat that it was.

Here. Basically uses the best GOE each got for each element in each segment to extrapolate possible scores. There's this one as well. Not sure if it's what you wanted. I think the cleanest Nathan went all season was US nationals, and I don't recall the layout anymore. Nathan is just....he is more yolo layout changes than even Yuzu, which makes the stability of his quads a bit iffy. But the boy's hips and knees and ankles....he's not looking at 2022 is he? Honestly, the only one who I trust to actually land a 6 quad FS when he says he'll try that is Boyang....and Yuzu (but he's not insane enough yet to do that, I think...). I don't count nationals for anyone, including Nathan, for obvious reasons. Nationals scoring is always suspect since it's not indicative of international judging. Yeah, most of the GOE I used in all of these tables are from 4CC where he had his best programs outside of Nationals.
lilsailor
if he does manage it, i can't see yuzu not doing the 4lutz... he must be aware that nathan/patrick are going to get extra points purely due to the fed they skate for?

I've got a feeling that 2nd jumping pass 4S is a placeholder for the 4Lz. But, again... depends on what his competitors are doing. who ever thought once 4s will be a placeholder... How do you compare the situation of4s in Sochi season and 4lz now?

If that happens, some fed will inflate his score like rocket ...No...Light speed...From beginning Yuzu is the only one who is expected to be perfect/clean. Shoma and Nathan can do whatever they want to increase the BV. Upgrade at the beginning or in the middle. They don't have that pressure. they just to be lucky enough to land them all and their score will be inflated... I think Yuzu is practicing/aiming 5 quad with Lz run through ... Hopefully... Nathan's SP was really good last season too, Marina did a great job so I am not surprised by a good SP this season either. I don't like commenting on snippets but I actually love what Shae seems to have done there, am quite eager to see the whole thing. The FS though is a whole different matter. That's where the issue was last season and this season, an additional quad (if not two). I hum at the idea of having to fit in 5, with Yuzuru's good quads in terms of set ups, but 6? Of course, Nathan will get an additional boost this season too and at some point the BV may simply rail-road any PCS advantage. We'll see. There is quite a lot to be said about being a great overall skater too.
