So the base value of our wishes 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T 3A2T 4T1Lo3S 3A is 162.27?

what will be the BV for the announced layout 4Lo 4S 3F // 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 4T 3A2T 3Lz?

should be somewhere near 155? :59227c768286a__s: (looking at nathan's possible BV and wow those are some scores)

156.42

Well... I am starting to think that there is no misdirection, and he will just not have the 4lutz.. because from what he has said thus far and his choice of Chopin and Seimei, his strategy seems to be aiming for consistency and comfort with the programs (like doing normal breathing instead of jumping quads )over risking injury and uncleanliness ... The cleanliness in women singles competition when he watched WTT probably gave him much thoughts(and the fact that he got his WRs from clean performances AND how kuyashiii he was after his last unclean olympic FS probably plays into his decisions as well)

Since 4lutz , though not a novelty, will still be a new jump for him, I am leaning towards him not changing his layout from what he chanted to the reporters in that article...no matter how small an upgrade from 3A to 4T is and how large of a BV diffence it is with his competitiors.

I remembered he said last season he could always clean Seimei run through? What he is trying now is to get used to 5-quad program. I feel like he can clean already... now there are still several months for him to try 4lz... considering Shoma's ambitious 4lz comment...

Also who will compete first this season? Yuzu or Shoma? Who will be the first Japanese man to land 5 quads?:devilYuzu:

Yuzu is first at Rostelecom and then next week is Shoma at Skate Canada.

Actually, Yuzu is first at ACI and Shoma second at Japan Open.

Wait, wait, is Shoma doing Lombardia? If so, he goes first.

A little math for fun, with max possible score for each BV possibility (the layouts without and with the 4Lz):

SP BV

SP MAX SCORE FS BV FS MAX SCORE TOTAL MAX SCORE
51.01

TES: 66.61

PCS: 50

Total: 116.61

105.41

TES: 136.31

PCS: 100

Total: 236.31

352.92
    111.26

TES: 143.06

PCS: 100

Total: 243.06

359.67

It is, of course, very unlikely he'd get anywhere near the maximum score for these, so here are a few possible intervals for clean FS scores.

SP BV

SP SCORE FS BV FS SCORE TOTAL SCORE
51.01

TES: 63-66

PCS: 47-49

Total: 110-115

105.41

TES: 128-132

PCS: 96-98

Total: 224-230

334-345
    111.26

TES: 135-138

PCS: 96-98

Total: 231-236

341-351

Note: He is more likely to be cleaner with the non-4Lz FS and maybe consistency may work in his GOEs favor. We'll see.

I don't want to beat a dead horse into the ground but he's going to go for the 4Lz. He can count and is very aware of the situation around him, not to mention the Lz is less of an issue than the Lo was. He has never been the one to wait for other people's mistakes, and even with the Lz, it's tight.

Relax, it's going to be a difficult season as it is, so might as well enjoy his strategizing and trolling now

I posted this in the general chat and now bringing it here since you are discussion the 4Lz

Yuzuru has high standards for his jumps, and I don't want him to compromise his ideals just for a boost in BV.. I much prefer his approach when adding jumps which makes sure that the jump, its entry, and exit are all integrated into the program.

If the 4Lz does not satisfy him, he would not include it, and I am 100% behind him in that decision.

Oh, I'm sure he's considering the 4Lz even if he says he isn't. I just wonder if he'll test the waters on the 3-quads in second half at ACI with or without it.

I don't expect him to bring it out at ACI....if anything I'd expect him to wait to see Nathan's layout or results from the US skate classic (might have spelled name wrong) before he rips it open. It might also be that right now he hasn't quite pinned down the choreography and steq sequences etc that he'll use to bridge the first and second half, and that would influence how and where he places the 4lz (it might go second half for all we know).
