If it means he spends a few more years after 2018 working on it....

His idol after all went to 4 Olympics ... we'll split the difference here and say 3 is good.

That's it, that's our plan! Someone please inception this into his head, he just needs the full set :hand:

By the time he gets it someone will have landed a 5T so he'll have a couple more years excuse to keep going after too.

The way he talks about it, it wouldn't surprise me if he stays on for another 4 years. He'd only be Javi's current age come 2022, and there are plenty of sports where men in their early 30's and late 20's were still bringing it to the youngsters (Federer anyone?). And unlike a lot of sports, figure skating is one that's more about steady output, and how you pace yourself-you don't have to react to someone else's serve. And I suspect Yuzu still hasn't fully peaked yet...I was reading somewhere that men tend to start physically declining after 26 on average in sports, but the peak age can sometimes still be 27-30.

"I can do 4A, quints are just half a revolution more... sounds doable"

(Please don't, actually. Serious quint talk still sends me running off into the hills screaming XD)

He wouldn't be too old, I don't think age is the bigger problem. But he's always said he wants to r**** young and at his peak, so who knows. I'd definitely love for him to stay for the next quad...

*throws salt*

(but seriously, the Chinese aren't the only ones trying them, the Russians have been for a while and with blade advancements someone will. I honestly hope ISU holds off as much as possible on the BV assignments.)

Before moving on to quints, he would want to perfect 4A and do it from a counter or a standstill.

Seriously though, I can't wait for 4A. Doesn't matter if he does it the year after the Olympics or 4 years after that. He will do it and it's going to be amazing. Tall, long, majestic, surreal... aaah I already love 4A so much and it doesn't even exist yet.

Technically, it does. We just didn't get to see it!

But maybe it does... in the depths of Toronto Cricket Club, there lies the beast. Waiting to be unleashed.

True, true, I forgot it already exists because Max Ambesi said he saw it landed :smiley-sick030:

I still find it hard to believe because it is such an incredible jump :headdesk:

Well someone saw it landed and told Max, but we also have Miki, remember, as she too said she'd seen it.

Overall :smiley-sick030: indeed because yes, incredible and dangerous!

Technically there was a video in the general chat or something with Chinese subtitles and he said he was about 1/4 rotation short of a full 4A back around Sochi time. So the boy has practiced, just not concentrated off season practice...

And a 5T would technically be 4.5 full revs in the air, which is around the same as a 4A, so....

There was that one article saying we don't have people shaped closely enough to a no.2 pencil to do quints yet....but they seem to have forgot we have Boyang Jin, who's even thinner than Yuzu. For some reason Boyang never joins the quad battles at galas...would be interesting to see him and Yuzu do gala quad battles, such pretty jumps!

:headdesk:<---Yuzu remembering it's Oly season and he has to act like a responsible adult and has to be careful with his unsupervised training

:notamused:<--- Yuzu convincing himself that practicing the 4Lz juuuust a bit can't hurt

:sadPooh:<--- us
