Deniss got only 3.93 points more for PCS than Daniel and the worst thing is that I'm not even surprised anymore...

The audience knew what they saw. Prolonged and enthusiastic ovation for Deniss. Boy brought the performance. However, without a quad it's hard to reach the very top. Enjoyed his performance. 

 

Sorry, Roman. Rough to watch... I would like, just once, a major international competition where he puts down 2 strong programs... the quality is there, he just needs to show it. 

....did they just get awarded electric shavers ? That's what it looks like

Deniss' performance was definitely my favourite of the evening, but so many skaters (including him) are telegraphing their 3As this season, and the programs really suffer for it...

 

LOL I just saw a tweet in response to someone asking what had happened saying "Deniss fucking glided, Roman...not!"

(rememeber Deniss in K&C with Stephane after a not-so-good skate??) 

Daniel is so sweet, it's hard not to be happy for him...but his skating

Anyway he loves Yuzuru so that counts

The audience were fab, it just shows what audiences like to see - just imagine if Yuzu had been there 

Well I suppose if both Denis’s and Roman went clean in the same competition it would herald the apocalypse or something- I’m very disappointed, but the audience were lovely to him. 
 

I’m on extensive record regarding my opinion of Daniel’s jumps, but what he lacks in technique is amply made up in sheer grit- he ground out one of those combos right in front of me not six feet away and the determination on his face was something to behold - it was as though sheer willpower was forcing his muscles through those two (admittedly horrible) jumps.  And he seems to be a very likeable person - not full of himself like some we could list.

I am so happy that she represents my country  And I have a lot of respect for her; she learned Polish by herself and speaks it SOOOO WELL! 

Both the people who came with me to Sheffield liked Katya - she has such charm that even the choice of music this season can’t diminish her - though I do think Elvis is too heavy for her.  I can’t think of a single Elvis programme I’ve really enjoyed.

As said, for the men, stunning performance from Deniss with a standing ovation from everyone in the arena. He was so relaxed before his skate, smiling to the audience. I feel both so sad for Roman and so happy for Shun.

At the victory ceremony, only Shun had a flag given by his coaches, so Deniss and Daniel got flags from the audience and duly returned them to the fans after the photos were taken.

Deniss fan asked him to hold the flag so she could take a photo and then she asked him to sign the flag.

Shun gave some autographs to fans as well.

Also, Deniss and Daniel got the wrong medal on the podium but they realised it immediately so they swapped them.

Fingers crossed for Mai to win tomorrow.

1) someone played her dirty, 2) her team/David made a terrible mistake, 3) the organizer messed up. 

 

Whichever way, I hope it gets solved soon.

Maybe John Wilson is expanding his business to electric shavers equipped with the sharp edged legendary JW blade. Business may be down since Yuzu stopped competing…

Maybe.  Sheffield is famous for its stainless steel manufacturing, including blades, so I guess electric shavers aren't that much of a stretch...
