Another amazing performance on injured ankle and painkillers. He persevered and made history, gifted us with TenChi. Incredible!!!

When she mentioned that he trained alone in the second half of the video and how much mental strength and desire he must have had to do it alone :YuzuPoohSad:

it really hurts every time he says his efforts weren’t rewarded esp since they weren’t. Underscoring is so painful it’s amazing that he can pick himself back up every time but it’s obviously taking a toll on him :(

They can call him king all they like but there is only 1 GOAT.

  • The Universe sucks. Big, BIG time. Why on earth can't it give Yuzu a break? Really threw at him everthing it had, the not skating in last group, a darn hole, a friggin injury (that also robbed us of 3A3Lo, darn Universe) and of course the s*it scoring... really, Universe, what the f*ck?

the only good part about him skate 8th to last was countless of Yuzu moment in the green room. Those were precious and showed his real character.

He may never skate on olympic stage ever again but he may be able to do Team Event like Plushenko if he decides to skate one last time at Milano. We never know. I thought he wouldn't come to Beijing but here he was. What we know is he might go to Worlds like 2014. He skipped in 2018 due to injury but we never know. I'm hoping his injury will heal soon

He won't participate only in team event, then "retire" from individual and "take" the place for the individual event to another Japanese skater. As much as I would like to see Yuzu in Milan (30 minutes away form my home and I'll buy the tickets even if I've never been to a FS competition) enough is enough. Seeing him this past few days was painful, and I haven't been a fanyu for long. How do you all cope with it?

I know just what Yuzu means, he WAS unrewarded officially, for every single thing, but he should know he is the one who wins our hearts every single time. Everything he does wins our amazement and admiration. He takes us along with his thoughts and his feelings and his dreams, and allows us, too, to dream. Medals and numbers are nothing in comparison to that, it is why he is so loved at home and internationally. Our love is his reward, I so hope he can feel it. And that love will outlive his competitive career for many many years to come - he will remain in people's minds and memory. His competitive achievements too are a matter of historical record forever.

I thought the presenter was tearing up too!! (like me!)

Such a pity how ISU or whatever is behind this clown show had managed to build up 4 years of overscored jump GOEs for Nathan so that the win for him here was almost set up and built up for years.

It pains me that ISU had just missed out and robbed 4 years of what would have been Yuzu's golden 4 year legacy since pyeongchang, I think back then

After sochi, between 2014 ~ 2018, ISU still tried to score Yuzu for what he was worth (although underscored), but somehow thought that they no longer wanted him anymore. I look back at 2019 GPF, 2019 Skate Canada and 2019 Worlds, and oh my God, Yuzu was so on fire, and even more improved and better than 2014 ~ 2018 but still ended up losing time and time again to Nathan. I think this period kind of broke him inside, it was that period when we all had to accept Yuzu was not going to beat Nathan unless Nathan was scrubbing the ice floor with his butt.

So true and hearbreaking!.. But I don't think that they succeeded to break him though.. They broke us, as it became cristal clear that there was no way that Yuzu would be scored fairly & Nathan was showered with overscoring just standing on ice and there was nothing to be done about this terrible injustice.. But Yuzu was not broken.. I don't know how he managed to do it, but he went on inspite of everything, true to his philosophy of skating.. they made him doubt his way, but he only came back stronger; as he acknowleged himself - a better skater now than he's ever been before! Incredible!!! Proud of him beyond words!!!!!

I agreed! Yuzu's jumps are more solid and effortless nowadays.

I agree. I think he is more heartbroken because we are heartbroken (when he doesn't know that we are heartbroken because of the judging and not because he didn't win or didn't actually land the 4A - and he is crazy if he thinks like that on the last one). So I do hope that our support reached him last night, the day before? gosh this time difference is killing me! but you get it...

I really worry for his long term wellbeing. He is only in his twenties and has subjected his ankle to so much. I bet when looking at his MRI, one won’t even believe he can walk properly, let alone perform quads.

Very conflicted. I want to see him achieve his 4A goals, but at the same time, I want him to make a wise decision and not sacrifice his health for the sake of it.

My feelings also!.. The picture of his swallen ankle is terrifying to see.. I want him to be able to enjoy skating for long years to come, to feel all the love from the audience during ice shows - and for that he needs his ankle! Evgeny Plushenko in his message of support to Yuzu talks about going to a 4th Olympics maybe.. but he himselt got awfully ingured in his 4yh olympics.. Even today, after skating in ice shows Evgeny needs treatment and had a new surgery just a few weeks ago... I desperately want Yuzu to fulfill his dream and goal of 4A, but also not to sacrifice his health for it!!! 🙏🙏🙏💜

Remember, Yuzu got injured in 2017  because of the 4Ltz.

And injured again the same ankle in 2018 from practicing 4Loop or 4 Lutz.

After the 2017 injury, he doesn't jump 4Lutz in competitions anymore. He can still do the 4 Loop but BV is lower.

But who knows, after he gets the 4A fully rotated, he might go for 4 Flip to complete the list. Be the 1st skater to do all the quad jumps.

Yuzu likes challenges, so why not complete the list :yahoo::dancingpooh::happydance::loveshower::smiley-happy085:

but of course I want him to have two well functioning and painfree legs. :tumblr_inline_nhkezmeBaq1qid2nw:

Same! As a fan I always find myself conflicted between wanting him to achieve his 4A dream and taking care of his health even if that would mean he needs to give up on it. Obvs he has the final choice :dbana:

Sorry if posted already (too many threads, too much info, I cant keep up !)

Anyway, I'd really have loved to be stood at this huge screen with Tenchi booming out like that, so dramatic, seeing Yuzuru skate like that, so committed to the music and the story, and surrounded by people who love and appreciate him and his wonderful story telling on the ice.

Thank you for posting. This man is next to God :smileys-cheerleading-867900:Each passing day I admire and respect him more and more. He is like  warm summer breeze in the middle of coldest November night. There is so much crap in the figure skating world, like giving drugs to a15 year old girl or the way NC's coach spoke about Mariah Bell and NC in a resent interview reflecting lack of respect towards another human being or Finnish coach of synchronized skating shouting young skater that she should go and kill herself....Jeesus :jaw:  Then there is Yuzu among all this crap, he has kept himself crystal clear, untouched and honest, unconditionally striving each day to his life long goal. Yesterday it was so close and in a way he did achieve his goal,  needs just lillbit of refinig and I have no doubt in my mind that he will do it sooner or later if he still chooses to do so.
