I think it's just a form of release of stress and frustration especially when you see a comforting and familiar face.

He said in the video he does not like to cry in front of TV but (I can't be sure of this and certain a translation will come out later) he knows Shuzo-san for a long time.

Thanks for explaining

I think it's healthy to let out all the pent up emotions Yuzu was obviously holding in all this time

It's such a high stress situation and with his injuries and the pressure of everything else, he must've held the emotions in for a long time

Yuzu used to cry a lot in front of camera but I guess he's trying hard not to these days...

I agree.

I'm not denying Yuma, but Yuzu is irreplaceable.

There was and there will be nobody like him.

I never could enjoy Nathan's skating because exactly as you said, rock hard.

No fluidity and no artistry (I don't care what hyped up crap others say)

In terms of skating skills, the other person from Yuzu's era who I thought was really good (apart from Yuzu) is Patrick Chan.

His jumps weren't great, but his skating skills and artistry was truly top-notch, especially the later programs of his career.

Back when Patrick vs Yuzu days I was in my teens and I had no idea why Yuzu documentaries kept talking about skating skills. It was all about how Patrick skating edges were deeper, and that was the success to him winning. Yuzu really worked on his skating skills back then and that is what I thought figure skating was back then.

I think when Patrick was King, PCS judging was more strict because the King himself was an artist.

Then comes 2016 ~ present Era and it becomes an entirely different sport. Documentaries no longer emphasize skating skills but just jumps and more harder techniques blah blah.. and PCS were given out like candies to mediocre skating skills. I much rather prefer the days when Patrick was hyped up because at least PCS judging was more fair back then.

Isn't it very sad that skating skills are so neglected these days?

Patrick was well known for his deep edges and I remember a documentary that showed one of the first things Yuzu had to work on after joining Brian, was to improve his skating skills.  I will watch Patrick any time over the currently soulless inflated artificial skaters of today.

Yuzu worked so hard on skating skills and it made such a huge difference to his performances.

If only others cared more to improve skating skills (foundation of everything), but of course why would they bother if they already got their freebies handed to them?

[NEWS]

Sorry if already posted.

I don't know if I watched the same performance as others but Nathan's 4S was UR with wonky landing and his Eu was also UR. Not to mention his 1F. But anyway, thanks heaven I won't have to see them ever again.

If ISU hypes up Yuma's scores, I wouldn't be as mad tho. Yuma's skating is smooth and the way he exits his jumps is smooth, not rock hard like Nathan's. Although I do think ISU and JSF hyping Yuma as the next Yuzu is a big mistake

I would mind, OTOH. A lot. For me, even Nathan has more musicality, more expression, a bit more charisma/star power, and less robotic skating. Watching Kagiyama feels to me like going back to the Chan era, only with multiple quads now. A new skating star cannot come fast enough, though I'm going to enjoy watching Yuzuru yet while I can.

But I agree that JSF thinks they have a new generation Yuzuru, they're delusional.

All these videos of him crying. I hope jmedia leaves him alone for some time and won't broadcast his most vulnerable moments to the nation and world.

sorry if this has been posted - I think it's Yuzu finding out his 4A is certified as a 4A - a happy and overcome Yuzu :sorrow:

Oh my, he looks so relieved. I feel like he had given it his all, emptied his tank and was somewhat resigned to the result that was less than ideal, especially in regards to the 4A. Really given it his all and not gotten the results in this particular instance, and although he knows his efforts aren't in vain, he still looks so relieved that his hours and dedication to the 4A had finally resulted in something. Finally gotten somewhere, rewarded. :) So happy for him.

Hope he gets some more time to be alone/with close confidantes and friends so he can process this entirely. Pretty complex and intense emotions building up from a long time during this journey.

Hate COVID. Want someone to give him a hug.

Hello pain :YuzuPoohSad:

Personal observation, based on his very delightful reaction on hearing his 4A was certified, I believe he will continue to finally land it with positive GOE. Probably ACI 2022.

honestly, the 4A was so close to 90 they should have just marked it Q :emoticonaci2019_2:
