October 21, 20214 yr I still can’t get over how cheerful Kihara looks with Miura compared with the way he looked with previous partners - wish them well, also team Japan as a whole. Interested to see how Tarasova and Morozov get on. I might get to watch the pairs on Friday but otherwise this is a house clearing weekend so I will be busy with the steam cleaner.
October 21, 20214 yr Nathan’s FS music is so……uhmmm….. strange and that’s the most polite word that came to my mind to describe it. I hope Shun is Okay edit: But Nathan was really underwhelming and the awkward upper body moves were not helping at all (I know he does them to cover his average skating skills). I’m not sure if it is because the judges and his fed always have his back so he is not really trying except for “landing” the jumps. Recycling his 2018 Olympics SP is such a lazy move too. He had performed it in the previous Olympics for the god sake.

I hope Shun is Okay I think the back to back competitions really taking a toll on Shun.Hope its not serious ..he is trying so hard.Regarding Nathan fs...i try to watch with an open mind but still its not tolerable for me.He is using the same formula as before ...jumps after jumps wihout any transition or choreo then suddenly a sort of 'break dance' in the chore sequence/stsq?.That is after finishing all the jumps then there is choreo..and people on the twitter are buying it..saying its a perfect program for the olympic and in the interviews he is saying that he is trying to cooperate his balletic style with modern contemporary style.Sorry but for me there is nothing balletic about the performance/choreo.One thing that i noticed also Shoma fs program has also become a sort of jumping fest since the Japan Open...Barely any choreo in between the jumps.I guess the trend nowadays is in order to jump 5 quads u have to sacrifices the choreo but u still get rewarded then why bother with choreo at all?And is 4lo is the new trend now?before its such a novelty jump now more is attempting it
October 21, 20214 yr Mixing Lacrimosa with some hip-hoppy/techno-y music at the end At least he is letting his personally show a bit more again which I take as a plus if I force myself to be positive about it and not judgy. But jumps, jumps here, jumps there, jumps all over the place. The twizzle+spread eagle after the axel made me feel overprotective of Yuzu. I know it's not an original move but his in Ten to Chi to is so wonderfully placed and timed and perfect and beautiful that I felt offended. Side note: I finally realised why Nathan's (and Nam's ) feet movements bother me so much. It's because their skates have very high heels and the boot is so thin. ETA: Twitter is saying that Sato went for an MRI after training and did not return to the ice. I'm worried for the boy.

His program is not Olympic worthy at all. Well, definitely few people will buy that, just like how they defended his controversial comments. But not only his programs are always so empty but this time, the music is so bizarre too. He should have kept his previous program. All these quad packed empty programs are so underwhelming but at least, imo, Shoma and Vincent are more musical compared to Nathan (what a problematic line up tho lol). I wonder if SLB is his hater in disguise because I can’t believe he is going to Olympics with such programs. I predict Jason’s programs will gather more attention than all these empty ones, even with no medals. Where is Figure Skating heading to though? Someone pull the brake pls.
October 22, 20214 yr Apparently Shun had an MRI and it didn't show anything so he's still set to compete, but I really hope he's careful. Seems like this has been a recurring issue and makes me think he's pushing himself to compete on the GP series and hopefully qualify for the Olympics
October 22, 20214 yr Practice Photos from Oct 21. Best of luck to Team Japan - Kaori, Satoko and Yuhana, Team Koko (Ice Dance) and Team RikuRiu (Pairs)! (One of these things is not like the other...🎼 )
October 22, 20214 yr This reporter says that according to people concerned, Shun had an X-ray. It turned out the injury apparently wasn't a serious one, so he is planning to receive some care and compete tomorrow. Hope Shun and his team take good care of his shoulder. Satoko's FP run-through I could find many of the Team Japan members' RT here
