I think it's maybe a great motivation for Yuzuru, to show just how fabulous and technically excellent he is to those in "authority" who treated him badly, and to show them who it is the fans prefer to watch performing. Maybe that's how I would think anyway lol! Yuzu's so nice I know, but he is also mentally tough and fierce and determined so maybe underneath his mask he might also think these thoughts.

Whatever, he's going to SLAY, that's for sure!

As I mentioned, I truly believe that fans will flock to see Yuzu's new endeavours. Yuzu will be able to demonstrate exactly what the essence of figure skating should aspire to be. Yuzu is the pearl before the swine. He will flourish away from the constraints and burden of competitions. Fans will also demonstrate their commitment to seeing Yuzu perform and it will become very apparent what sort of FS they want to spend their money on to see

 

I was not at all surprised to see the enthusiasm of fans attending the exhibition and the bags of merchandise that they were buying, quite astounding

 

People in power both love and need money in order to cement their status. ISU will see the money diverted from their interests to elsewhere. They will rue the day they chased Yuzu away

A huge amount if money will pour into Yuzu projects. The sponsors and backers will recoup any investment or start up finance and their will be no shortage of ticket sales, broadcasting / advertising space.

The media will soon forget about Yuzu until he resurfaces with a new project underway. Then everything will explode again, the fans enthusiasm first, and then the world will surely know that Yuzuru Hanyu is not a person to be forgotten or ignored because he keeps on developing himself - physically, mentally and professionally.

This is probably because they are English words and mean nothing to them or they assume that they are legitimate English words. This is ironic because these words were used during and after World War II as derogatory expressions, intended to convey contempt and hatred, specifically against the nation and people of Japan.

 

I would suggest using the Olympic abbreviation for Japan – JPN – if you need to use an abbreviation for “Japan” or “Japanese”.

 

Please accept this post in the spirit in which it is given – i.e., as a friendly elucidation  – and  post often!

It reminds me of a tweet by the Finnish Figure Skating Association with the word "JAP" in it... 

I also remember that there was a competition held in Western Europe where they used "JAP" on their result page. It was corrected the next day. I hope more people will be aware of this term

"No, my darling daughter, Yuzu is not the 'winner' of the gold  medal here; that is the yawning youth beside him in the yellingly-yellow shirt, looking like he'd rather be elsewhere. But Yuzu is the winner of all the hearts, like always!"

OMG, I'm sooooo sorry for having used that abbreviation ! I was not aware that it has such awful connotation, and I most definitely did NOT intend it as a slur to anybody, honestly! I was not thinking properly when writing those descriptions accompanying the links, I just tried to make the text as short as possible. My heartfelt apologies to all it concerns.

Thank you Geo1 for pointing out my blunder so that I can avoid repeating it in the future. 

I will go back and edit my post, I definitely don't want that word in it, now that I know of its negative connotation  ... but what about those posts of others who quoted mine ? I cannot edit those.

 

One more time, I sincerely apologize for hurting anyone's feelings, it was unwittingly done.

I join you Turquoise Bleue and how many times I have heard this "JAP" and even out of skating in normal conversation and now (and   to GEO1 for the explanation) I would say that it is necessary to use full JAPANESE and   for this number satellites  and I only offer you youtube and the 1st is what Yuzu carries for its competitions and there is a "hair lacquer" part    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeHld-0j8Zw
