Slightly off topic @Anabel that is good news! I have unused flight tickets to Japan from 2020 which are just sitting in my refunds. I was hoping to catch one of Yuzu’s ice shows if the pandemic didn’t happen. Hopefully, we can all travel next year and watch Yuzu’s ice show. I’d love to meet fellow Satellites in person!

My whole family is very much into the sport. Despite the ugly side of this sport, we stay and watch because legends come along. In my time, there was Yuna, Mao and then Yuzu who have all revolutionized figure skating. I’m still staying to support some of the Japanese ladies. Had my family and I turned our backs from the sport, we would never have discovered Yuzu. Hearing him talk about what we fans always knew is a hard pill to swallow.

I’ve been a longtime fan of FS and not just Yuzu alone. Unfortunately, politics, corruption and the trend of “retiring” skaters is not new in this sport. It has been happening for a very long time even before Yuzu was born. For a sport that’s so beautiful, it’s very rotten to its core. I’m very happy and glad that Yuzu allowed himself to step away from an environment that was not only unfairly treating him but also where they’re forcing him to forgo his values. For him to continue skating and go through all that mental, emotional and physical turmoil must have taken a lot of willpower.

Just finished watching! It feels so weird watching this now with everything that we know so far. It feels so much better and lighter to watch than what we initially started with. At the end where Yuzu is being asked to pose and look at the cameras, it’s peak comedy to me

Watching it again. Ever since its debut in JNats, Rondo has been added to my list of favorite Yuzu SPs. I’m just so happy I have a new memory of it now after that blasted hole in Beijing. That 4T+3T is gorgeous.

I held my breath when the Sal came up. Tbh I teared up a little watching this. Finally a better and happier memory of Rondo for Yuzu and all of us. Miura’s story also made me cry, I hope better things await her and her family. Such a really fitting place for Yuzu to heal himself from his Beijing experience and at the same time provide healing to others too.

The only Yuzu items I got since becoming his fan were the Phiten necklaces. I don’t have the latest wings one though. I’ve been a fan for years and I definitely don’t need a plush tissue cover but my Yuzu Pooh tissue box is on its way. I regret not getting a similar Old Man Pooh-san case when I saw it being sold years ago. This impulsiveness is going to be the death of my bank account. RIP. However, apart from the Aoi Hono books, I do not have interest in the photo books or clear files because those tend to gather dust on my shelves.

July 19 actually very much felt like PC again! It was much sadder and bittersweet in a way ofc but the gathering of fans and media and the outpour of love and support really took me back to PC days. I never doubted it one bit that media would continue to follow him around especially now after emphasizing so many times that he isn’t actually retiring and that this is the beginning of something new. I’m so happy he’s continuously gathering the interest of the media which is really much more important now that he’s turned pro and this time there may be less tears (I say less because he’s only human and he will still have his own bad days!) to hide when being interviewed.

How wonderful it is that Yuzu is giving a whole new meaning to Rondo by skating it in a charity show after Beijing. I’ve always known he wouldn’t leave it at that but I didn’t expect him to skate it again so soon. I’m so excited
