I always thought the person wiping the tear from Yuzu’s eye in 2013 was David too since he was with him in the Kiss and Cry after the free.

I checked for FS/sporting mags when I was in Osaka's conbini - not for NHK magazine specifically but conbini mags are pretty limited in range esp when it comes to sports so tbh you're better off trying to find a bookstore (I know there's a Kinokuniya in Honmachi around a 5-10min walk from the St Regis Hotel).

Yuzu really is a sweetheart. Pushing himself during the free while sick. I never knew that the three Olympic spots was at stake.

I think there WAS a bloodbath for Sochi for the Japanese men, even with 3 spots. They had so many contenders then.

Yeah, and they weren't young and hungry contenders apart from Yuzu - they were all seasoned veterans, confident in their skills, though ailing from injuries. Some have been working forever for those spots - and never got them.
