  1. He was also quoted saying that he appreciates the fan support and it's never a burden to him. But I do think there are levels of fan dedication that can possibly feel like too much for him, as it would for anyone who tries to remain grounded. Like, despite appreciation for the fans, he knows very well that he can't really go out when it's competition time. Always needing security. And then sometimes some fans overstep their bounds. You can't always predict people's behavior.
  2. Resident Sasha fanatic here. I tend to agree with you. I won't miss it if he removes it as it doesn't add or detract anything for me. I love that the high kick banner from ACI made it to Russia as well. That was one of my fave banners from the event. So clever.
  3. Well I will say, even though they have the Nathan propaganda, Johnny and Tara were very good about Yuzu too pointing out how he doesn't need 5 quads, and that it's impressive that he continues to push himself doing things like trying the lutz. They preferred his program today too and noted he is clearly ahead artistically. Johnny also liked that Yuzu brought back Seimei.
  4. I agree with this. Honestly I'm just choosing to ignore most of the media. Yuzuru is doing everything he can to get the results he deserves on the biggest stage...well, for someone who chooses to up his technical ante instead of coasting and resting on his laurels. I find what he is doing astounding and inspiring. But I am his fan and I have my own opinions that I've formed from watching him these past 4 years. As long as he delivers, he will get what he deserves. And he is now including content that makes it harder to deny him that. Win or lose, he does have legions and fans, and we will continue to support him. They can go ahead and make fun of us, rather than be grateful that we're practically bankrolling the ISU these days by filling seats. Whatevs. Believe me, we are doing what makes us happy and we're not gonna stop.
  5. His security detail has definitely increased. When thinking about some ACI incidents I think it's necessary.
  6. I just mean her reaction, not the words because I don't know either, haha.
  7. I just watched TAT react to Yuzu's lutz and it was reminiscent of the loop save at GPF. I want to know which one did you guys like more? I swear it reminds of a those soccer (or football) commentators going wild of a goal. I think I might be partial to the lutz reaction .
  8. Watching all the skating on the Olympic Channel right now (well I missed the mens but the free airs live). The Planet Hanyu banner is in a great spot, I'm seeing it on tv all the time! So many banners there for our boy. He is so loved. Several were from ACI, I can tell. I know right. So dramatic.
  9. This is what I keep trying to tell myself.
  10. I don't know what it is with his quads being so all or nothing kind of jumps.
  11. It was for comp, but it was not ANA. But at the very least he did have the leg room.
  12. Oh it was a long flight where he didn't. I was a bit shocked. I HOPE he does. I know the Shibs travel in style for the long haul, so why not a national treasure?
  13. I have it on good authority that he does not always fly first class...Maybe with ANA he does... So yeah, if you want to be impressed then by all means... I sure as heck don't look that good.
  14. I need alcohol or it's not happening. I honestly still think I am insane for going to the Olympics. Helsinki was agony. I mean, I would do it again for the euphoric end result but still sometimes I question my sanity knowing what it does to my nerves. I may smuggle in a wine purse... The men's team SP is the next day so he might not do it because it could hinder his performance. I bet a number of the men and pairs will not be in the opening for this reason.
  15. I rarely watch these competitions live even if I follow results. This will be no different. About the only way to get me to watch live is if I'm there.
  16. I think Yulia would have probably done better without the overnight fame she had from the team event. It spooked her and put her head out of the game for the individuals. That's completely understandable for a 15 year old. I think they would have given her the gold with those team event skates if she did them in singles. Also, Plushy's score in the team event could have given him an individual bronze. I do consider the efforts of those who had to skate both events and consider their contribution greater than someone that only had to do one. Like, some skaters only did 3 jumping passes and get to call themselves an Olympic medalist. At least someone like Yulia skated both. This time around the team event benefits me because I'll be there and it gives me more bang for my buck so I can see more disciplines (because I was not paying individually for all of them). Part of me thinks the team event should be after the skaters have done their individual competitions, but it could also give them a chance to get the jitters out and skate better. Yuzu's individual PW SP was better than the team event one for instance. But generally I just think it's a chance for Russia, Canada, and the USA to give themselves pats on the back for having strong federations. No other feds can really challenge.
  17. I was thinking the same. Chan technically has the same content planned as Javi now and if both do the same content I think Chan should be ahead. Shoma mention makes sense as he is a reigning world silver medalist and currently has the highest total score this season. We don't know who will bring what on those big two days. That much is for certain. I just hope Yuzu does. Button also seems to not care for the team event one bit.
  18. So much new stuff today! But can I just say that watching Yuzu and Jeff choreographing together is what puts me in my happy place? Gosh, it just does something to me. Instant warm fuzzies. While of course Yuzu is a big reason why I am his fan, I'll be eternally grateful to Jeff for giving him dynamic and interesting material to work with that accentuates his strengths and challenges him. I can totally see how this has evolved into a collaboration. I don't know where I'd be if in late 2013 I didn't glimpse at this whipper snapper in blue with loads personality, snazzy footwork, and breathtakingly beautiful quads out of nowhere. They're my fave duo and I'm so NOT sorry to fangirl about it. #MyHeartGrewThreeSizesThatDay #Can'tGetEnough
  19. My next question is "ikura desu ka?" I haven't had a G-Shock in forever (I had a metalltic Baby G actually) but I would wear this one. It's really nice.
  20. Continuing the conversation from the main thread. Someone mentioned that Yuzu would do an upbeat program because he has Chopin and Seimei, but he did skate to Requiem the same season as those two so something upbeat and fun isn't a guarantee.
