I remember Kwan doing a version of this when she lost in SLC (so not the best associations for me). I'm all for Lindsey Stirling, but maybe a fast one like Masters of Time.

I hope he has a fun and lively Ex.

That's cute. Excuse me while I do it anyway.

Fanyu, I understand it as a derogatory term. Kinda like Yunabots. But I personally coin myself a Yuzuber ~_^.

Quotes for truth! Yuzu looks aren't even what makes me a fan. I don't care what he looks like. I care what he skates like! And if he can skate clean and get world records, what's so wrong about admiring that? That's something to talk about! He is one of the best jumpers this sport has ever seen while having the total package to boot. What's so wrong with marveling at the results of that hard work?

ACI was like pretty much any other competition where it's not a full house until later groups skate, IF you're lucky enough to have a full house at all. It's been like that before Yuzu and it will be like that after Yuzu. There was a healthy attendance overall for such a minor event even with a few who decided to leave to do other things. Besides, those benches were not designed for people to sit in them for 15 hours straight. My knees and my butt hurt just THINKING about it... I saw Bruno Mars on Saturday and it wasn't completely full for the opening act (probably 75%-80%), but it was packed when he was there. That's pretty much how it goes for any show I attend.

I agree to this. People will like who they like. Yuzuru has earned his status with blood sweat and tears and he just keeps giving. While I do love skating aside from Yuzu I am not travelling too far to see it unless I have a fave I'm invested in. Helsinki only happened because he was there. Thank god he made it worth it. And then meeting all of the others I have admired over the years was a cherry on top. Olympics, he's a big reason I'm going but this is also a bucket list thing for me so I am killing two birds with one stone. This artificial stifling of his fanbase reminds me of Helsinki somewhat because so many fans had banners for him and yet most never made it to being displayed. I did mine in both English and Japanese so he'd have a good reference. I had a friend help with the editing.

That's how I felt about Sasha and Plushenko. There is still no lady I feel the same about since she retired. And then watching Osmond essentially copying her Swan Lake (both versions - with Dick Button Commentary ~_^) last weekend only makes me miss her more. You guys were hard on Vincent's R&J, but for me this is the scandal . But on the Men's side, I care more about Yuzu now than I did about Plushy then...and Sasha too if I'm being totally honest. And I was a biiiig Plush fan. 2006 Men's podium was actually my dream podium and placements because Stephane and Jeff were faves then. Meanwhile 2006 ladies, the podium was fine but the placements hurt, especially because Sasha went in leading and only needed her skate from 2006 Nationals to get it done. But what is done is done and at least I still have the skating and programs that I loved to look back on. It isn't always about the medals. And hey, there's been no US ladies medallist since her so...you're welcome.

But the lutz wasn't a new jump while the loop was. But otherwise I guess it's hype. Or maybe it's smoke and mirrors, lol.

I think you are correct. Thanks!!

So does Yuzu know any French? It sounded like he was at least trying to make sure he understood the number right when he was getting his SP score and was listening to the French:

Now to begin the epic master post by yours truly. See him whenever you can. I almost skipped out on Helsinki because I'd just returned from Japan and Singapore after nearly a month and the thought of booking another flight sounded horrible. Thank. God. I. Went. I would have regretted it for the rest of my life. I had the time of my life, truly. Not just as a Yuzu fan, but as a fan of this sport for nearly 20 years seeing so many people I've admired for that time. Yuzu was the mega though. The rest of it was icing. Yeah that's me. Pooh ears and all. They were like a beacon for people to come up to me . That's fine. I'm a proud Yuzuber. I actually interviewed in Japanese as well but the English flows better with the group, lol. Part of the group is also here at 1:09 https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymotion.com%2Fvideo%2Fk2Q1VCe6qRmT7GoLEX5&h=ATPWxegkZLwQtXM4S6AwVuBJbJv_IOc-9vmHac1SxZfaDyZCjfxjmO79Cm-YaAHldKitIam3Z_ZrabZAmocargntzRVCSZfhuGtBMZRXY3k-EW5JudG6y2SIFVC2lFf17iW2BgFV Also, you guys can do a where's waldo of me here: https://mobile.twitter.com/saho_3a_4a/status/912518652762636289/photo/1 https://mobile.twitter.com/saho_3a_4a/status/912518652762636289/photo/3 Yuzuru is the definition of a Type-A personality. If you look the word up in a dictionary, you'll see his face. Javi is more like a B+ (because, despite his willingness to settle, he did still work very hard to get where he is). I'm honestly more of a Javi type myself and I work around Type-A's all the time so I have to be on my game. But it's effort to do. Like, things that are worth my energy and are really important to me will get my energy, but I am not always that way about everything and I don't lose sleep over it. But Type-A has its rewards. Yuzuru is completely committed to excellence, nothing else. And because of that my eyes benefit as a fan. But my wallet sure doesn't . I can see the analogy too. Very true. An Asian girl in front of me had a Genki book, Genki I at that. Pretty sure if she was Japanese she wouldn't need it. And then I heard her speaking with her friend...and it was not Japanese. I can't tell the diff between Mandarin and Cantonese, but I'm sure it was one of those! As for seat snatching. I can attest to this. I was practically pushed out of the way so a Japanese lady could grab her seat (see, another example of my Type B+ personality where I just didn't care QUITE that much ) I heard a lot of Japanese, some Chinese, and some Korean. I was also not standing outside all night when there is really no bad seat in the house. I needed a bed, and a shower. I am still feeling the effects of not having a restful weekend. But I do appreciate some of us satellites that were able to snag the better seats for fellow satellites. Well said. Of course, one has to weigh if it'd be nicer to have two Olympic champions as opposed to one 2x Olympic Champion. On this end, I want a 2x champ so GO YUZU!! Dave and Shiho. We met in Helsinki (I have a pic of all of us in our ears), and we got to hang out here too which was awesome. We were all sitting together for the SP when Yuzu broke the world record . Yep I ran into so many familiar faces here from Helsinki and Boston. and then some Japanese ladies I've seen on TV. Me too! I love the mutual respect between the two!

I've turned my mom onto Yuzu's skating. She's watched his worlds performance multiple times. I've never commented on his looks but she thinks he's cute too, .

Love spread eagles! And he has great turnout so they always look so nice!

I did notice that Yuzu gets around the ice at a nice clip, even in competition. And he has great ice coverage, though maybe I'm biased because he hit that gorgeous 4 Loop and 4 sal/3 toe so close to me so he gave me some memorable moments on my end/corner. He also maintains speed very well. I didn't notice him running out of gas at the end. You can tell in person quite easily when you're seeing them back to back to back...- 6,825 replies

To be quite honest, when I saw him do it even with a fall in the free I was like O_O. The attempt itself is impressive to see. I totally agree.- 6,825 replies

True and it makes total sense! I just need to go over these things so my mind is prepared for more contextual situations.

Thank you. Since it didn't end like a question (with a ka or ne or something), I was thinking it was an exclamation. This language remains impossible

I'm a big sister to everyone in that regard , but Javi I think is the most swoon-worthy. I'm closer to Miki's age so he seems to not mind an older woman. In general though Daisuke for me is the MOST swoon-worthy, and we're less than a year apart in age, I'm taller than him though. But for the rest of you I think Nate, Shoma, and Yuzu are pretty cute. Patrick and Boyang, it depends. Yuzu and Javi are the only one (barely) taller than me. For NON men's singles skaters...Alex Shib really does it for me, AND he's tall, AND he's really nice. I did behave myself around him though . My knowledgeable Japanese speaking friends, please help. In the first video here (I can't hear it very well), the caption says "上手じゃない" but everybody is clapping. Doesn't 上手じゃない mean "NOT really good?"

Well, at 4CC Nate got better GOE on his 4 lutz combo than Boyang did. After seeing them both do them in front of me in the same spot in Helsinki practice, the quality between them is like night and day. You got "good" (Nate) and then "WOW" (Boyang) and yet the points didn't properly reflect that at all. So I still think judges will do what they want. Yuzu has a better 4 loop than Shoma (not to mention Yuzu makes it hella harder by spread eagle sandwiching it) but the scores haven't always reflected that. So I would not bank on anything in that regard.- 6,825 replies

And we also definitively know he reads manga (probably watches anime). We knew he liked games but that's not always the same thing. Yuzu would be a fantastic coach.
