2012 Worlds (Nice) FS | ESP ITA [Max says ESP did not broadcast the Men’s free skate live because of snooker] M: So we have decided to show you the best three FS of the competition, a competition of the highest level; programs that earned their performers a medal. Let’s start with Yuzuru Hanyu, who came back from 7th to 3rd place, with a sensational performance. We had said multiple times that this was one of the best free programs of the season and today he proved it to us in an incredible way. A: yes this boy has limitless (immeasurable) talent, exceptional, an incredibly soft knee-bend, wonderful jumps…when he can skate at his best, he’s truly competitive and in this free he did achieve a stellar TES. Now, we are going to analyse it in greater detail. This is Romeo and Juliet’s soundtrack. M: Music by Craig Armstrong, so, the modern arrangement let’s say. A: He starts with this extraordinary 4T. And now look, spread-eagle and 3A. 3F. 3Lz-2T, in spite of a flawed landing on the 3lz he did great by attaching the 2T to it. Then the circular StSq. And here - incredible - a fall on a transition, that came just before the set up for the second axel…but he is able to complete 3A3T anyway *Angelo is chuckling here*. We’ve seen things like this only from Chan. 3Lz2T2T. 3Lo is magnificent too. Extremely competitive on spins too. The last jumping pass. 3S. He managed to land this one too, even if with difficulty. At this point he was a bit exhausted. The program ends with the flying combination spin. A truly stellar program. M: Yes, in spite of that…trivial fall. That makes a fine pair with that missed lutz in the short program. A: Obviously this is a minor mistake [if compared to that one]. Unfortunately it might have disrupted a bit the flow of the program, and he needed a bit of time to recover/get back on track, but little after that he managed to gain enough speed for a fantastic 3A3T. And you can witness his emotions. We’ve said more than once that he has a hard time training as much as he should, because of his asthma- M: he is asthmatic. A: yes…but when he is able to skate at this level, well, this boy’s talent is really, crystal clear. M: he has great flow out of his jumps, and the jumps are always done after particular elements, his axels are at Plushenko’s level, if not even better. Considering his age we are seeing an incredible prodigy. A: We shouldn’t forget that he isn’t even 18 yet, fantastic. That mistake in the short had relegated him in the background/rear, and he lost a lot of points and was far away from the podium, but with this wonderful performance, exquisite from a technical perspective and really solid, he managed to make a come back, similar to the one we saw among pairs, by Volosozhar/Trankov. M: In the men’s field it had never happened that an athlete had managed to come back from 7th place to make it to the podium. Hanyu managed to succeed in this feat. It seemed difficult after the short program, but let’s not forget that this boy had five triples - and an axel among them - in the second half of his program. And this means racking up a lot of points that can really make a difference. A: In the meantime we can check again that moment, a backcounter that was meant to be a transition, coming just before this fantastic combination, 3A3T. Yes, lots of points with those triples, a great quadruple to start and a lot of quality in terms of choreography too. Great spins too, besides the last spin that did not reach the maximum level. He truly is a complete skater. M: The score that is coming up is really extraordinary, as you’ve all understood by now. Let’s start by saying that in history - because we can already start talking about history - only Patrick Chan - current world record holder - Kozuka, Plushenko and Takahashi have achieved higher scores. So hats off to this boy, who’s just a little over 17 yo. A: And look - the expression on his face when he sees the score. Fantastic…and this boy definitely has room for growth, because he can improve for sure, but his quality is already incredible and exceptional, indeed. M: And 90 points of TES have been reached only by Chan, Kozuka and Takahashi, so…superb performance by Hanyu.

No vabbè, tua nonna è un mito, posso rubartela?

I guess Satoko would have a chance as well, if she's back in good shape. I think a lot will depend on GP assignments, considering that Wakaba and Marin might be the darkhorse for a place on the podium. I would have seen Polina as a potential finalist, but considering her physical conditions I don't think I should place my expectations on her  I don't see Elena as a candidate yet...we'll have to see what Buyanova manages to do, because she had problems on both jumps and spins this season so... Yes the canadian girls aren't that consistent, but I do think that this season might help them improve their mindsets tbh. On the other hand, Eteri has a chance to place 4 juniors in the jgpf.
-
Well, I think I trust Russian girls a bit more but I hope Japanese and canadians girls do well so we will have exicting competions next season :D The other russian girls aren't as consistent as Alina and Zhenya...I think at least 2 japanese girls have a chance, depending on GP assignments. Wouldn't surprised to see Gabbi or Kaitlyn make it. We need to see what happens with Anna, as well as Elena. It'd be easier to see 4 russian juniors at jgpf imo.

I really can't keep up with this thread (so fast c.c) but popping up to say that actually, as Max said, Yuzu is the best for average score this season. So, not as inconsistent as most people say

I think I read somewhere that Shoma might reveal his programs at the next ice show (so FaOI?)...hopefully someone else will as well.
-

I knew I could trust you with not leaving me alone in the Tango & Flamenco appreciation camp :yee: And I think [link=https://twitter.com/Iron_Klaus/status/859813999357112321]this translation from a quote from Mura[/link] wasn't shared yet. So  (PS: Gio, when I said new program I didn't necessarily mean competitive ones. I just count new EXs as debuting new programs too. Sorry if that was confusing, I only realized ^^) Oh yes, sorry, I thought new program = SP or FP  I count EXs as separate ones, that's why I brought up her recent interview! (I also wonder who's the choreographer of her new EX...maybe Nanami again?) *wants to test new emoji* :space:

I'm honestly happy about flamenco being an ex and not a program. I like more on different music Last time I saw her it was at nationals, I don't know anything after that
-
Try to look for them here http://m.weibo.cn/status/4100789796698935 I found the post on tumblr again and that was the source  I hope they're there ;)
-
Actually I wasn't aware of that! Where did you see it? they were on tumblr a while ago...a week ago perhaps?
-
They did one in their Blues for klook costume too right? It was gorgeous
-
It might have been Fiesta Flamenca. I've seen a tweet tho, so I'm not sure it's reliable. And I have no idea about what it is
-
I doubt it just because in a recent interview for Canon she said she will likely keep the same choregraphers...so it does not seem like the programs were already done?
-
Lol okay, gotta ask, is she doing tango or maybe flamenco/paso doble because... that costume. Flamenco? I think I saw a tweet about it being flamenco, but isn't it too early for a program? Might be an EX?

No one I think. Rika Kihira will reveal them this Saturday (I think?) but I don't think anyone has announced them yet. Thanks! Seems like prince ice world is today? I thought there will be quite a number who announce their programs haha I hoped so too...if not here then maybe FaOI? Since there will be also Rika, Marin and Kaori...I hope we won't have to wait until DoI c.c The only thing I've read about PIW is that Mura tried a 3lz-4t<< combo but I have not seen videos or anything so I'm not sure

Not sure if this is the right place to post it (this place is so huge XD) or if it has already been shared, but some fans did a clean LGC edit:

People who saw her live usually say she is quite slow...and her programs are quite empty after all. It's hard to judge when it comes to "performance", I do think she's not bad when it comes to interpretation. She definitely deserves a bit more, but how much more? She's a lovely skater, but she definitely has her weak points there. Yeah I did see her live and she is slow. Her skating really lacks any power. But I agree...if she lands 5 triples and 2 > triples, she deserves more than 102 ... I think it'd be less evident [the underscoring] if the judges weren't ready to throw PCS candies to many others. I would definitely score her a bit higher, but as of now with PCS it's hard to find a skater that is judged fairly.
