To be fair... he has never skated clean Chopin 1.0 inn competition with quad scheduled in the second half. So yeah... maybe he will skate well Chopin 1.0 now.

My slow connection shows it is ok. Your banner and ava are both there.

Some "certain" Yuzuru's fans keep saying everything Yuzuru has today should be thanked to the time he's in Japan, and they keep bashing Orser and CC team as much as possible. Yeah certainly you know who I am talking about. And they totally ignore the fact that Yuzuru's Scriabin SP and Romeo 1.0 got re-choreographed by Russian specialists.
-
So do Mishin and Tarasova... they can be very unreasonable these days. That's why I said I don't care and don't mind them much. But it would be nicer if they don't talk this much though.

Nagoya group has 2 ice rinks... their top skaters can access swimming pool, gym room and everything else at Toyota campus, basically I think their condition is better than many Russian skaters: http://www.chukyo-u.ac.jp/english/campus/f2.html

Frankly Shoma never has a true Flip and Lutz. What he has been is edge jump disguised as toe jumps, from 10 years old. So it will be interesting to see how they address it. One thing, having a flutz but with correct tapping method is better cause you only have to fix the edge (even though it's difficult). He doesn't just have wrong edge, he doesn't use the toe pick correctly. one thing why Jason Brown can fix his Flutz somewhat, even though not totally, because he doesn't have pre-rotation, his toe pick strike right onto the ice. So Jason has learned to leave the ice immediately before he flutz. Even though his lutz still gets e now and then, he can somewhat improve it. The key is that Shoma doesn't strike the toe pick on the ice, he side way it and rotate it on the ice and leaves on the right back outside edge. There is no way to call that a toe jump. Seriously I don't think they can fix it in one summer.

Well, sorry If I have to express this... but this by no mean is the first time coach Yamada has done something like this. She has been trying to hype and boost her own skater by some questionable comments occasionally in the past. Why I know, of course from other Japanese fans who follow media and her comments for years. That Japanese friend of mine even said something like: "I can't stand her trying to do political influence like this, it's so gross." I could look up the emails my friend sent me to show you several the things coach Yamada has said or commented in some funny ways, but wait... that means I am bashing her so I am trying to refrain from that. So yes, you have the opinion that she isn't trying to talk Yuzuru down. But from my experience about Yamada, I don't stand on the same ground with you. So do my Japanese friends an Chinese friends who can read Japanese quite well. Anyway, I don't mind her much and I don't care about her. Unlike other people here. But of course, you have your opinion and I have mine. From all the things I have known, I don't trust this woman to be fair towards Yuzuru. That is my take.

As an Asian, and NOT typical Asian at all, I have to say Yuzuru sounds too humble to me. Oh by the way, Javi and Miki? They're back? PS: Why is he carrying a soccer ball?

More like litter devil boy... lol...

For correction, Yuzuru debuted at the Senior level when he was 15.
-
And one thing, if they want a correct Lutz.... most and foremost they should learn: NOT pre-rotate the jump like almost 2/3 of the first rotation on the ice. Lutz is a Toe Assisted jump, not an Edge jump in disguise of a lutz. They should teach the skaters to NOT pre-rotate it EXCESSIVELY.

An old Japanese coach living in Thailand came back to WC 2014 and saw Yuzuru there and commented that Yuzuru had "very good manners". Many old Japanese people have commented on Yuzuru's good manners. So.... let Yamada be salty on her own. She is doing no good for her own.
-
I will believe when the Flutzer can correct their Flutz when I see it. Because I have never seen a flutzer fix their Fultz completely. Be it men or lady. Mai Mihara also rocks to the slight inside edge at the Lutz take off but was overlooked. Mao at her best of near end of her career did not completely fix her Flutz either. Daisuke never corrected his Flutz either. But he was overlooked. Even Jason Brown still E his Lutz now and then.

Didn't I mention before that Nagoya group is not doing a good job in helping their skaters at all?

This is what Yuzuru's fans have been doing for years... LOL

Which part of you has the most fat? My cats are asking.

It's not like there was any wow factor in Zhenia's programs, yet she still scored well. Commentators can say anything, but when he performs well, they will just shut up. Most commentators have goldfish memories and many of them just kiss the trend as the season goes. Not that I want to talk them down, but they're just that. Most of them frankly. Especially when he is the reigning WC and OGM, they won't talk him down, unlike the season ago when they acted like he's done and "have we seen the best from him already". I am sure this Olympic season when they need a lot of publicity, they will just have some nice words. If you ask me why... been there, done that. I have watched their commentary for years.

He went to Japan Open exhibition as a kid at age 13. But it was just an exhibition. He never competed there. but anyway, it's a commercial event and not a true competition, not even a senior B. The sponsor of that event also doesn't invite him. I am ok that he never goes there to "compete".

Other Skaters' 2017/18 program announcements
meoima replied to CupidsBow's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
At least we can say... Yuzuru is the only one who will use Chopin Ballade this season? Eh... -
Jeff always does SOI and FaOI. But FaOI this season is a bit early. They can always get SP done in May or July. Usually, it's the LP that got choreographed later than SP. But I guess this time, LP is partly done and SP is still undecided. I guess Yuzuru want to do Chopin 3.0 so he can spend more time on the LP.

Yeah I think just a fan blog. Anyway, what she said is just the same as what we have been saying here. The point is not to polish the program, to be frankly, I think the point is just to consider the weight between risks and rewards. But anyway, I think we should not rule out the possibility of Yuzuru adding 4lz, or a new program because it is still early summer and Yuzuru is still practising 4lz and Jeff is still not free for Yuzuru yet. Getting a new program in July is still not out of reach. Or not, he can still upgrade his layout if somehow the 4lz is good.

I remember sitting through the skating competition for 4 days, 10 hours per days, giving out calls and not even know who just performed (like hell I care about their name)... and by the end of the competition, I am sure the judges just wanted to say bye. I doubt that the judges really care who perform to their heart. They only give scores based on their taste (and because the competition is just a low level one, no one did politics here). And if the music sounds familiar and easy to their ears, that's a bonus actually. So Yuzuru does not have to worry that the judges will say: "gezz you reuse this for the 3rd time??" Instead, most of the judges do not care. They might even say: "Oh this is nice music, aha!" Not to mention, there are no other men trying to skate to Chopin Ballade No.1 like Yuzuru. So it is not like they will suffer 29879764738 POTO in one competition.

I am sure judges and specialists won't let Shoma add the 3.25 Flutz and call it 4lz with true lutzers like Nathan, Boyang, Kolyada, and even Vicent around. His team surely is opening a can of worms if they think he can get away with that flutz. as for Yuzuru's layout, I think it's possible that he can go for 115 BV if he can practice that 4T3lo or 3A3Lo combo. He will have whole summer for it. And his 4T and 3A are pretty much consistent.
