Thank you very much @faeline ! I've downloaded Kast and signed in, everything seems to work fine First thing I noticed: I could only follow the download link on my desktop PC. On the tablet it said that the link does not work for mobile devices...?

This is not a full footage either but another version of this very special collab. Alena Leonova has probably framed this historic moment in her memories EDIT: I wouldn't mind, if Yuzu skated to Sean Paul again... Get Busy for example? Another one to remember: Yuzu skating in SUNGLASSES Petition for a revival at next years' FaOI in UA outfit.

I just rewatched some snippets from The Ice 2011 and 2012 and found this *Gomen for the double post

My list grew drastically yesterday, because I found THE Under Armour paradise in my city An entire floor full of UA stuff for men and women. My wallet got 200€ lighter in less than 30 minutes Last year I rescued a Pooh plushy from a cardboard box at a junk market. The poor thing was completely dusty and squeezed between old books, broken toys and rags. The bargainer said 30ct, but I gave him 1€. It was outrageous to undersell Pooh-san like that, he really deserved better... At home Pooh took a long bath and the little red shirt went straight into the washing machine. Today he is an honorable member of our family and watches Yuzu's performances from the first row And finally I purchased this magazine in December 2017, because I wanted to try out this Yuzu cheesecake recipe

As a big Holmes fan myself I really support this I hope I will see a bit more Sherlock in Keiji than in Gogolev last year...
-
Just that I get it right: The photo shows the front view of this scene here from the finale of FaOI Kobe 2018, aye?

Yuzu is the cutest bull I've ever seen in my life Aye, it's a crime to squeeze Javi between the two pages... he deserves better.

2019/2020 Season Program Announcements
Henni147 replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Not to mention her injury around the start of FaOI, when she choreographed Masquerade. I hope she has recovered from it already. I'm not a fan of this mass production either. Just cannot imagine that she has the time, energy and creativity to do all the research work and detailed choreo as she did with Seimei back in 2015... -
To be fair: The Oreo costume looks really pretty here...
-
Didn't we just discuss like... a week ago that Yuzu might lurk here on the Planet and stumble across video links like this one

About V/M: Maybe they hope deep in their hearts for another comeback? I totally agree about the fixed cap. Let's say, Guillaume Cizeron decided to compete in men's singles next season and fell on two jumps. Could the judges really dare to give him lower PCS in skating skills than any other single skater with a clean program? That would be blasphemous. You have to distinguish between pure skating skills and jumping skills (and spinning skills as well). Of course, divine SS can help to generate huge entry speed for the take-off, but they don't guarantee that you rotate and land the jump. Conversely, you don't need advanced skating skills to be a very good jumper (as we could see multiple times last season). These two skills have only marginal relation. I remember that fall from Yuzu at Nationals 2015 transitioning right into an outside-inside spread eagle and he continued as if nothing had happened. That was really pro and shouldn't be punished with more than 0.25 points per component. However, if you stumble after the landing or cannot find your way back into the choreo within 1-2 strokes, that should effect your SS and TR.

I have to ask this: Did the ISU really use YouTube clips in the composition webinar?!? Without any credits?!? I saw the Eurosport and CBC logo with the green recording button in the corner... Does the ISU have no own archive of competition videos? Seriously? And how can you bring EX programs as examples for competitive scoring standards? Of course does an EX program without a bunch of quads and other requirements have more room for creativity and pure skating. Are there no competitive programs that illustrate proper composition? @LadyLou I had to cuckle throughout the webinar how they used half of the FaOI cast as paramount examples: Plushy, Johnny, Jeff, Stephane, Cappellini/ Lanotte, Volosozhar/ Trankov... Aljona and Bruno from last year... It felt like: Yeah, we cannot mention Yuzu in person, because he's still an active skater, so we put in all his idols and supporters to remind of him as much as we can

There are many aspects, where they could have mentioned Yuzu as a paramount example, but there is one particular webinar that literally screams "Hey! Reward Yuzu's effort more next time, damn you!" It is the webinar about the performance component and particularly the section of the personal program choice. Yuzu's intellectual construction and analysis of the program such as his personal motivation and message behind the choice are very striking every season. Especially his involvement and emotion in Otonal and Origin last season was so blatant obvious that it should have blown the display of the scoreboard. Even the least informed commentators knew that these programs were personal tributes to Johnny and Plushy, so the judges can't tell me that they didn't know. As the smart lady in the webinar mentioned: Many skaters don't have any say in their program choice and design. They have to take and convey it as their coaches and choreographers instruct them. There is only a minimum or no personal connection at all. In a program like that the involvement and emotion level can never compete with Otonal, Origin or Seimei, even if it's skated clean. I also have to thank the lady in the webinar that she talked about the intimacy of a program. The projection of the performance doesn't have to be "big" to reach the audience's heart. It can be indeed very quiet and intimate. That doesn't minor the greatness of the program as it happened in H&L or most of Yuzu's EX galas. It doesn't have to be the big fireworks everytime to be a very good program.

Right. I forgot about the conflict with Japan Open In that case I agree that ACI is definitely the more likely choice. It's in the neighborhood of Toronto and there's some break before SC. I wonder, if Media Day at TCC will be a bit earlier than last year as well (I wouldn't mind... ).
-
I just saw the competition schedule for the next season: Sep 12-14 Autumn Classic Oct 03-05 Shanghai Trophy Oct 25-27 Skate Canada GP I wonder, which competitions Yuzu will attend this year. I don't think that he will do both ACI and ST, but only one of them to test his new program layouts (and maybe new programs). He's invited to the Shanghai Trophy, but those three weeks break before SC might be too short, aye? However, if Yuzu doesn't go and Nathan does, this could fuel negative and unncessary narratives again... How do you think about this?

Common "mistakes" in PCS judging... For me a "mistake" is something that happens accidentally or due to a general lack of knowledge/ ability. In PCS judging this can be: concentration blackout during the performance and missing crucial details (to be fair: that CAN happen after +4 hours...) hitting the wrong button on the keyboard poor knowledge of the PCS rules general inability of real-time judging (identifying difficult entries, steps and turns etc.) The criteria listed in the PowerPoint presentation like "number of quadruple jumps", "starting order", "previous results"... have NOTHING to do with mistakes. This is notorious inaccurate biased judging on purpose by consequently ignoring the written rules and creating own rules. No change in the ISU handbook can solve this problem. What could help (maybe): Every measurable aspect of the program has to be judged by precise and objective measurement tools (especially URs, height and distance of jumps, centering and speed of spins and the ratio of 1-foot/2-foot skating). The 11 judges do NOT judge everything, but are divided into expert teams instead, focus on one or two aspects and judge those properly. After the competition every judge has to defend his or her scores for every competitor and every element that he or she has judged. This defense has to be made public with an extended score sheet including every single GOE and PCS bullet and additional explanations/ justifications. What has to be fixed in the PCS guidelines: Currently there are no standards/ explanations/ examples of the different scoring steps (What should a 9.00 or 8.50 in SS look like?) There are no explanations or examples of difficult or good quality transitions at all (How exactly does a clean or poor Choctaw look like? When is a program overloaded with proper transitions or lacking them?) EDIT: I also thought about publishing the planned step sequence in the program layouts. On the other hand, if certain skaters announce 15 difficult steps and turns in their planned StSq and only execute 5 of them properly, this could lead to even more bias...

It's really a wonderful compilation of the last season. Love the music choice, too When I look around on YouTube, I feel that many videos deserve more resonance than they currently have. Yuzu's SP and EX in PyeongChang still wait to reach a million views. The collection of his Olympic performances on OC counts something around 118,000 klicks. The only Origin video with +300,000 views is the fancam that recorded Yags' and TAT's reaction at COR ... and there are many great competition videos, fancams and MADs with less than 10,000... Of course, view numbers are not everything, but considering the size and dedication of Yuzu's fanbase worldwide it's not that much actually. Sure, the excessive deletion wave plays a huge role in this. My heart still cries rivers that his H&L performance with over 3M views and countless comments has been ereased...

Not even Khaleesi could compete with THIS list of names and titles
-
Or he pulls another Oly troll practice at Media Day: Heli 1Lz Double 3-turn 1F Graceful 1Lo Heli 1S 1T+1A+high kick Delayed 0A aka Waltz jump 4A Bow. EDIT: Thumbnail of the spin collection is ready
-
Same thought I had to gulp, when Tara said "[In the Oly season Boyang] was behind the other quad kings and he was the original quad king." This sentence sounds so contradictory in so many ways.

I'm not sure, if it was in this forum here, but after Olys I mentioned that I need more signature material from him during the next seasons. Yuzu's reaction after ONE season 4T+3A sequence Ice-Kiss-Hydroblading Stag Leap/1-foot-Axel/Saute de Basque (whatever you want to call it) Y-Spiral Up-and-down pancake spin Glove smash 4A in the making ...

Arigatou!! I'm still collecting all the raw clips and working on the storyboard, so it will take some time until the final upload However, I've a nice concept/theme for the clip already. A very sweet birthday present inspired me yesterday

A new video in my BOY* decalogy is on the way! It's a full collection of Yuzu's different spin positions With 'full' I really mean a FULL collection from Doughnut to Cannonball including every position he has ever done in competitions, shows and EX galas. I'm not a spin expert myself and had to do a lot of research to find out all the names, so I think that this collection could be a useful guide for many fans, too. My current list is still incomplete for sure, so if you find any flaws or know other positions (ideally with good video material)... that would be great! I thought about an additional section for special features like entries (Travelling camel, Sit twizzle, Illusion, (normal) Flying spin, Death drop and Butterfly), in-spin-jumps, up-and-down spin and varied arm positions, but I'm not sure where and how to include them yet. _______________ *BOY = Best of Yuzu

Yep, this is my worry, too. They surely won't go after the actual choreographic value or biggest resonance of the crowd but other... criteria...

I talked with my mom about ISU's idea of splitting figure skating events into a technical and artistic program and I had to laugh so hard about her comment
