  1. Nah, that old pink Ghana costume wouldn't do justice to Pink Panther. I'm sure that Yuzu would do everything in his might to top Aljona's super skinny and dazzling costume from 2014
  2. He just has to do a practice session with the usual routines. Zipping of his jacket, doing some nice stroking with deep edges, long gliding... and it's perfect. If he can do it in a filled arena with thousands of fancams following him, he can do it everywhere. PS: If he doesn't have any problems to wear this pink monstrosity for Ghana, a short skating session in his favorite training gear shouldn't be a problem either. That's my guess at least.
  3. UA has the ultimate chance to create the most attracting ad in television history, but they prefer to sleep.
  4. It would be so lol, if Yuzu decided to wear 'Freddie-cartoon style' in a future competition but with Pooh-san on the shirt (and full of sparkles of course)
  5. I agree that recycling both LGC and Origin would break with the inward/outward pattern of the past seasons. I really love LGC, it's one of my all-time favorite programs and I would give my salary to see a clean version of it. On the other hand the copyright issues would probably lead to more deletion waves on YT and other platforms and how sad this would be: Yuzuru Hanyu skates the greatest performance of all time... and it's blocked. EDIT: Thank you for the information about Teo Torriatte! Didn't know about the charity album 11/12 yet. That would 100% fit the tribute series of his past EX programs and since it's Queen, I don't think that Japanese lyrics should be a problem. I would really appreciate this song as a new EX.
  6. I thought a bit about Yuzu's costume choices for the next season. If he decided to recycle Origin (which seems very likely), I really wonder how you can improve the version from last season... for me it's just perfect as it is If his SP is Otonal again, I would like to see a costume that reminds me more of autumn than winter this time. I could imagine a top inspired by golden Japanese gingko and colorful Canadian maple leaves. The structure of this gingko tree here looks a bit like the crystals on the backside of the current costume, aye?
  7. I really like the quote and the picture selection with the two medals in the background Maybe it would look even better, if the text was positioned as a block to Yuzu's right?
  8. I listened to some old Queen songs yesterday and found "Teo Torriatte (Let us cling together)" with Japanese lyrics: 手を取り合って このまま行こう (Let's go hand in hand) 愛する人よ (my beloved) 静かな宵に (In a quiet evening) 光を灯し (Light the light) 愛しき教えを抱き (Embracing loving teachings) When I read the line "light the light", I just had to think of Yuzu and the Olympic torch... Now the funny thing is: The American rock band Melee did a cover version of this song in 2010 and released it on the album "The Masquerade"
  9. You can only stop Yuzuru Hanyu from skating, if you heat up all ice rinks in the Milky Way and turn them into swimming pools.
  10. I think it would be smart to come up with a quote from Yuzu, where he said something like: 'A solid technique is the foundation of artistry. It's impossible to separate them.' 1. It's true 2. not offensive and 3. it throws shade on the ISU
  11. I'm really curious, how many skaters are out there, who could deliver Yuzu's full list of senior music pieces from Zigeunerweisen to Masquerade... My bet: 1. Everyone, who might shine with Chopin Ballade No. 1, would terribly fail with Seimei. Those, who could rock LGC, wouldn't have a clue what to do with H&L (and so on). 2. Yuzu could make something great of every program from any other skater, if he had to (as we could see in multiple practice sessions already). PS: I prefer a polished, high quality recycling over an unfinished, sloppy new program anytime.
  12. This is a bit OT, but one of my most important lessons at school This is what Yuzu does, too. Observe top skaters carefully and project their skills (stage 1). Then he incorporates those skills and makes them his own (stage 2) and finally he recomposes them to something new (stage 3). I agree with you that he has even reached some kind of transcendent stage now. It's the fusion of figure skating history and the unique signature of Yuzuru Hanyu.
  13. Yep. I could probably enjoy her, Vincent, Nathan and other skaters much more, if they received fair scores. They are all very talented athletes and it's not their fault. But I just cannot ignore the scoreboard, no matter how hard I try.
  14. I bet my money that she will get higher GOE than Boyang, Kolyada and Yuzu for their fully rotated ones.
  15. I cannot thank you enough for this upload I couldn't be at home this weekend, so I missed the full broadcast. It was wonderful, I really teared up
  16. I think, Scott Moir can relate now
  17. When you see all the hype around him, the stellar success, the countless awards, the media madness, the advertising contracts... Absolutely everything is there to turn him into a conceited celebrity, but he still stands on the ground with both feet, he still remembers and cares for everyone who helped him. He is still this likable person who's core and convictions are unshakable and this makes me really really really happy
  18. It's one thing to get used to a new system, but a completely different story to accept and second it. The truth is: The judging system, the rulebook and the SOV tables have never been the real issue. A well-rounded skater with top-quality execution should be able to succeed in every system from the old 6.0 to the current +/-5. The biggest problem was mentioned very clearly in this year's summer webinars (they do not even deny it): Many judges do not reward their scores according to the written guidelines, but have their own illegal criteria like starting order, flag, world ranking position, past performances, personal favorites... A split into a "technical" and "artistic" program won't solve anything. The corrupt and inacurrate human judging will remain (get even worse for the artistic part) and figure skating will lose its charme as a sport that merges technique and choreography. Lakernik would never admit it, but I'm sure that deep in his freezing heart he knows this.
  19. I can see this coming. Citizen: Mr Hanyu, will you compete in B- Yuzu: No comment. Citizen: And if it's an exclusive handmade sparkling golden Pooh-watch with extr- Yuzu:
  20. Once upon a time... Yuzuru Hanyu has said that he wants to get married at the age of 25. So... The Final Countdown starts at 7th December this year...
  21. Aye, I just checked the currencies, too. It's really affordable actually and I prefer traditional clock-faces with Roman numerals anyway. Independent from that... the event tickets, the calendar, the DVD's and all the other stuff together... That's quite something.
  22. My wallet jumped down from my desk, rushed to the other end of my room, now hiding behind the flower vase and shivering so heavily that I can hear the coins rattling. However, Yuzu looks awesome and that makes my day
  23. My cactus-status: No news = dried out Any news = watered Breaking news = well watered Recorded appearance = very well watered Live appearance = extremely well watered Skating performance = growing strong Live skating performance = blooming
  24. 3 new pages. Citizen campaign, Tour the Tohoku promo, new stellar calendar. Cactus watered.
  25. I know that there's a huge Snooker boom in China at the moment. At the World Championships in 2016 incredible 27.1% of China's national TV audience watched Ding Junhui's semifinal match against Alan McManus and Ding has ~100 million supporters according to this article: https://www.eurosport.com/snooker/world-championship/2015-2016/ding-junhui-tops-tv-ratings-in-china-and-says-he-has-100m-snooker-fans-backing-his-world-title-bid_sto5555898/story.shtml It would be interesting to know, how many Chinese fans Yuzu has in total numbers. It must be crazy, too.
