  1. I don't think it's only for exageration and modesty tbh... I think that he's also thinking about his health, when he says that first he has to participate.
  2. Haha that short program was an amazing experience ! And I could watch it live... thanks yo fate, I think ? The thing is, I hadn't put the alarm on - because I didn't want to wake up my hubby, and, well, I'm tired these days, and 2AM is really late. I had made peace with the fact that I would watch Yuzu's short program right after waking up, in the morning. However at around 2.15 AM, my hubby woke up and got up to drink a glass of water and did an awful lot of noise... and incidently woke me up... Just in time for me to watch Yuzu's SP ! He still can't believe tthat, for once, I was so happy he woke me up (I am usually more of the grumpy kind, you see ? ^^) Anyway, that was awesome. on another topic : A quite funny article about the Yuzu craze in the Journal du Quebec http://www.journaldequebec.com/2017/09/22/hysterie-a-la-japonaise - once again, focusing on his japanese fan, ignoring us international fans, but well. I'd be glad to translate, but later - I don't have time right now.
  3. I just wanted to add tat Yuzu turned senior at 15, while Shoma turned senior at 17, so you can't really compare their "first two years" per se. In fact, at Shoma's age, Yuzu was already gpf champion, national champion, world champion and olympic champion... so I wouldn't say Shoma is more formidable than Yuzu at the same stage of their carreers - far from it.
  4. Damn... Some times I wish Yuzu had Patrick's frankness and would tell the ISU his real opinion
  5. I think the french skating federation is the main issue... Because there are quite a lot of rinks here, and they're not particularly expensive (thanks to grants) I know Joubert is trying to open a skating school but doesn't get much support. Candeloro and Bonalt complained about the federation. And, well, everybody knows what happened when Gaillaguet was head of the isu... he's still head of the french federation.
  6. I remember I saw an EX by Shae-Lynn which had the most amazing hydroblade I had ever seen... can't find it, though.
  7. how I wish I could understand what Dai is saying...
  8. If there's red, then yes it should be black and red. White and Red screams "japanese flag" to me, for such a very japanese program it would be too much, imho.
  9. that training gear is so pretty !
  10. This comment about Yuzu wanting at first to do LGC for olympics makes me happy because it might mean that he'll do it again next season, and that we'll perhaps finally see this program in its intended glory one day But for Olympics, I think the decision to keep Chopin was the wise call. His worst ennemy this year will be the pressure, so anything that can help his confidence and comfort is the right choice, imho. Plus, the more I watch Chopin 3.0, the more I love it. I can't wait to discover the competition version.
  11. Actually it's a good thing I'm married with kids - my hubby is perfectly okay with me fanning whatever I want (well, he'd better be !), but he warns me when it becomes borderline addiction and it impacts our family... Still, my daughter is probably coming with me in Milan if we manage to get good tickets, so yay me
  12. Love his skating and music choices <3
  13. Yeah, this is really heartbreaking. I've checked if there was an update on her health, but she doesn't mention the concussion anymore in her recent interviews. Hope she's getting better, I have no idea if you can heal from this kind of injury.
  14. These last days were incredibly cute, Yuzu never disappoints But what amazes me is the media coverage 0_o. How many TV programs have there been these last 24 hours ? (as for people who prefer not being associated with PH... Well, let's say that there are other reasons than the ones that were given here, and these reasons are perfectly understandable - but they were erased, or are in hidden parts of the forum. Anyway, I don't want to spoil the mood, it is a day for cuteness overload after all )
  15. I just came across this article about Gabriella Papadakis, where she talks about a concussion she had in 2015 : http://www.parismatch.com/People/Sport/Un-ange-veille-sur-Gabriella-Papadakis-949480 It's terrifying too. which means more or less :
  16. Dai <3 His best programs are really unique. Few skaters have had so much style and modernity in their skating.
  17. I think Yuzu won't r**** as long as he hasn't landed 4Lz and 4A in competition. So I think we can safely bet on at least 2 more years
  18. Ahem. Shae has done a lot of wonderful work for other skaters, and the glimpses of her work with Nathan we've seen so far are very exciting. And so what ? It's good for the sport when the programs are thrilling. As long as the best one wins
  19. All this talk about his current layout... don't forget that "4Lz" is easy to write to make some base value calculations, but super difficult to perform irl. We're talking about a jump people didn't think would happen in competition just two seasons ago. We know Yuzu is working on it. We also know he aims at perfect performances. The way I understand his current layout and the fact that he's training 3A as a last jump for emergency, make me think that he wants to add the 4Lz (in 4S stead) and is preparing for it - but will add it only if he is consistent enough to skate the program clean. In a way, if I'm right, he's applying the strategy Brian wanted him to use last season with the 4Lo...
  20. Lol when I went home amd saw that the thread had grown so much in a few hours I thought that the FS had been revealed XD
