  1. I thought it was 6 jump passes in the new FS ? Edit : or perhaps 7, as Xen said.
  2. Wow. Sorry, but the guy in black, on the left, is GOOD !
  3. I was a big fan of this program at the beginning of the season. I couldn't wait to see how it would develop... I've been disappointed, to say the least.
  4. I... don't understand why you don't understand why we couldn't love several skaters at the same time ??? We love the sport, and those who excel at it, how is it difficult to understand ? It's true I think that many Yuzu fan love Boyang too. At least on tumblr. I think that it is simply because Boyang visibly strives for the same cocktail of technical perfection and artistry as Yuzu, in the long term. Technically, his jumps are great. Artistically, he's not quite there yet, but he visibly wants to improve, and he gets kudos for it. There's also the fact that Yuzu visibly likes him best amongst the yound skaters. It helps Also, Boyang never got any help from judges, so there's no bitterness involved regarding his scores (contrary to Shoma or Nathan). As for Nathan... There are fans of both. But I think the fact that he abandoned artistry and transitions for the sake of mass jumping, this season, when he had such great programs at the beginning of the season, was a big cold shower for many Yuzu fans. It was for me, at least. And all the politicking around Nathan has iritated many Yuzu fans, even if it's not his fault. As for myself, I'm ready to love Nathan again if he puts back artistry and transitions in his programs. And a real choreo sequence, FFS !
  5. many great photos of team France on this instagram account : https://www.instagram.com/obrajon/ (and apparently there was a gala next to my home a few days ago and I didn't know it )
  6. Just putting a message here to say that this thread is amazing and that's a pity it hasn't been updated for so long. I wish I could contribute, however I'm not very knowledgable about figure skating history
  7. Yes !!! Thanks a lot
  8. Ah, by the way, - it's not directly Yuzu related but I don't know where I could ask : there was this wonderful thread a while ago, showing "classic programs" in figure skating history, with a lot of context, explanations - it was absolutely great to know more about figure skating history. But somehow I can' find it anymore ? Where is it hidden ?
  9. It looks great ! (Iwas talking about the manga )
  10. Well, whether yuna was "robbed" or not is not even the question here. Skaters are not responsible for their scores - the judges are.
  11. [Admin edit: response to deleted post] I'm not even her fan, but if she likes skating and competing, who are you to advise her against it ???
  12. When are the assignments for gpf made official, usually ?
  13. Omg apparently GPF 2019 would be held in France ??? Is that confirmed or is it just wishful thinking from the french fed ?
  14. 2 olympic golds and many, many gold and silver world golds ?
  15. I won't lie, even if I know that the french Grand Prix is the worst of the six grand prix, I would really love if the rumors were true - as it would be the only opportunity to have Yuzu in Europe in the next two years probably . And, who knows ? I hate Gaillhaguet, but perhaps if he knows he's got Yuzu, then he'll find sponsors to do the grand prix in Paris, in Bercy, and buy a new podium and real medals - even flags ? Please let me dream even if I know the probability is very, very low
  16. Well, skaters are usually children or teenagers when they begin to need serious training, and leaving family and country is not something everybody is ready to do. It's a big sacrifice. And, well, France is a good country to live in, appart from that I don't know if a gofoundme campain would work ? Would it be allowed by the french fed, Idk... I think they still finance some of their champions (too few) - as far as I know, Gabriella, Guillaume, Vanessa and Morgan must get some real help from the fed, still. The most shocking for me in Bruno's story is that he was treated as a "property of the french fed" - while they did nothing for him (and even prevented him to compete in Sochi when they screwed up with his partner's papers). And it's telling than none of the former french champions became a coach in France once they had retired from competitive skating - except Brian Joubert, who'se trying to open his own skating school, but it's not easy. A little voice in my head tells me that Bruno could be the best person to change things, since he's totally independant from the french fed foundings, and knows very well of all the issues. A girl can dream That's why I'm usually quite bothered by the french-bashing you can read about the "french planning event" while, really, it's just people doing their best with litterally no money. As far as I've heard, yes there were plastic stars at TdF last year (and plastic medals at skate america too but nobody never nmentions that), but people at the venue were very nice and enthusiastic and the atmosphere was very warm - which is the most important, I think ?
  17. I've just read on a french forum (passion-patinage) "Si un concurrent essaie de monter un staff, il coupe les subventions à ceux qui se sont associés et empêche ceux qui ne sont pas en club d'exercer des fonctions de juges ou d'être dans le panel technique." Which roughly means that when someone else tries to build a team to become president of the federation, he cuts their subventions, and forbids people who are not in clubs to become judge or tech specialists... Then later : peizerat has paid for his fight since he's lot invited anymore in club's galas because the fed pressurizes clubs... Candeloro has talked openly against gailhaguet in the past. But that's about it...
  18. I think Ghaillaguet has singlehandedly killed figure skating in France (well, with nelson montfort on the media side.. ). We used to be so passionate about figure skating. Now our successful skaters all skate abroad. And I don't think Brian Joubert got a lot of help to build his skating school. Surya Bonali was a star and now lives in the us. Candeloro seems quite bitter about the french fed too in interviews. So sad.
  19. The thing is, Patrick has a bad habit to say a bit too loud what he thinks (how do you say it ? a habit to put his foot in his mouth ?). Winning only silver in Sotchi was a huge disappointment for him, and he let his bitterness show in interviews. For instance he said back then : So basically, in Sotchi, the gold medalist was ashamed to have won gold medal with a flawed free skate, and the silver medalist was bitter because he thought he was the most deserving one (but he's always acknowldged that he screw up, and never contested Yuzu's win, as far as I know). The wole free skate event was quite a disaster tbh, and the podium was far from being as happy and warm as the fantastic one we got in PyeongChang. But more recently, we could see Yuzu and PAtrick bond a bit in competition, especially in 2016-2017 season. And Patrick mentioned in a recent interview that once he had admitted to himself that he had hated Yuzu back then, he made progress with himself and could begin to apreciate Yuzu's skating, while before he was blinded by rivalry. I can't find the reference, sorry. So, well, that's Patrick for you. I must admit I find his lack of diplomacy quite endearing
  20. I certainly can't And I'm pretty sure Seimei will stay for the ages. Don't listen too much to Candeloro, he skated when figure skating was super popular in western countries, and he was a superstar in France then - now nobody in France watches skating anymore, Candeloro is a bit seen as a has-been, and I think he just misses those times. He's always been a bit condescending regarding japanese audiences tbh, which is sad since they love him.
  21. Have you seen this kickstarter for a seimei-inspired enamel pin ? It's very cute (I must precise that I don't know the person who did this kickstarter and I have no personal interest in its success - I just happen to like this project)
  22. I must say I quite like Raf's frankness in this interview...
  23. For what span of years have these data been collected ? Because if it's for all the senior years, then youngsters are disadvantaged...
  24. Gachinski was 3rd at his very first senior Wolrl Championships, just the year after Yuzu became junior world champion and GAchinski was his bronze medalist. Yuzu told in "Aoi Honoo" that he was really, really MAD that he couldn't do as well as Gachinski on his first senior year... even if Gashinski was then 18 and Yuzu 16 (Also, Kanako confessed that she used to find Gachniski super hot, that might have been a factor of Yuzu's jealousy )
