He mentioned in aoi Hono that he was the only young male skater who didn't give up on skater after Sendai Ice rink was closed because of financial poblem... I sometimes wonder if there would have been more skaters from Sendai if their rink hadn't been closed twice ? In any case, they weren't many to begin with... As for Shoma... I'm really mad at judges for never calling his jumps. In the long term, it doesn't serve him well at all - for his health (ouch his knees !!!), for his reputation among other skaters (and fs fans), and for posterity. He's lucky Yuzu is such a wise and friendly guy and don't resent him for the scores he gets, I know I wouldn't be able to hide my bitterness if I was in his place. :devil: And that's a shame, because he IS talented. He oozes charisma on ice. But if doesn't correct his jumps there will always be a Sword of Damocles above his scores... and his health.

Wasn't Shoma's flutz called at WTT ? And weren't Nathan's PC much lower than the rest of the season ? I know WTT judging is a bit of a joke with all the happy candies, but who knows, judges and tech panels might see the light next year ?

Vous avez déjà vu Yuzu en live ? Ahlalala je vous envie, mais je vous envie ! En fait * instant confession sur le divan * j'étais fan de patinage étant petite, fin des années 80 début des années 90, puis comme beaucoup je suis passée à autre chose... Ce n'est qu'il y a quelques mois quand je suis tombée sur des gifs de Yuzu sur tumbr que je m'y suis remise, à un point légèrement pathologique :smile: Du coup en décembre j'aurais voulu aller voir le GPF, mais j'ai pas osé abandonner mari, enfants et collègues plusieurs jours pour y aller. Snif. J'aimerais bien aller au TdF cette année mais apparemment ça va avoir lieu à Grenoble, c'est pas hyper pratique pour moi :( Milan... qui sait ? P.S : merci pour le lien himawari !!!

That's nice to hear I went to Sendai in 1997 for Tanabata Matsuri - it's the only place in whole Japan where we actually befriended people. Well, people were super nice and polite everywhere we went, but there they were friendly. When I think that I may have met a 3 years-old Yuzuru then Btw, perhaps we could make a pinned post for "how to donate for tsunami victims" on the forum ?

@ LienT722 : if you're talking about that article Akiko wrote last week, that was thoroughly discussed on GS btw ( :cry: ), it is not what she said. Some people found it disrespectful toward Yuzuru, but others (me included) didn't. So please be careful when you're landing such accusations, they're serious. Some native japanese speaker said the translation sounded more positive than the original one btw, but aside from that it was correct. And btw Akiko is not even in that picture. And I may be wrong, but I've never heard anything bad about Mao and Tatsuki Machida toward Yuzuru. Dai is clearly not his biggest fan and some of his commentaries are unfair, but he has always been respectful, as far as I know (his fans are another story). But yes, I think Yuzu suffered from the fact that media pictured him and Dai as rivals back then, and that he does everything he can to avoid the same thing to happen again with Shoma. He's always been very respectful of his rivals, let's do the same.

It's clearly photoshopped Btw is there a translation (or even the original) of what Kozuka exactly said somewhere ? Because I've only seen people mentioning it indeirectly and I am always wary of quotes taken out of context. I also remember someone mentioning an article where kozuka was discussing about where skaters could improve... in this case if he only found crossrolls () in the case of Yuzuru, it can be read as pretty complimentary. And silly. Always sily. In short: is there a link ?

Sendai people seem to be very classy, judging by these two representative Seriously, though, am I alone in thinking that Yuzuru and Shizuka have much in common in the way they behave ? A kind of charismatic restraint, eloquence and refined dignity they both share ? I wonder if it's a cultural thing, or if it's just a Sendai rink thing (or if it's just in my head )

D'une manière un peu... étouffante, certes :rofl: , mais néanmoins sincère. Je suis preneuse du lien pour l'interview, je ne la retrouve plus ! Honnêtement, j'ai du mal à la revoir tant j'ai honte pour Nelson et Candel - et le pauvre Yuzu qui doit être en train d'halluciner intérieurement :smile:

The team event at Olympics doesn't work like the WTT - in WTT, singles result weight much, much more than pairs and ice dance, while it's more even in Olys. And Japan are so bad at pairs and ice dance that there is absolutely NO chance that they could get the gold - even medaling is going to be tough. That is, if they even qualify... The two spots for ladies is driving me mad. Satoko, Wakaba, Mai and Marin are such beautiful skaters, and much better than many other competitors... it's really unfai :( I have a very small preference for Satoko and Wakaba (gimme all the 3As !!), but... the truth is I would really want the four of them. As for the third man... that would be cool if it was Mura. Sota is a big question mark, though.

Haha j'ai failli mettre une pique à Nelson Monfort en introduction du forum et finalement je me suis dit que ce serait trop spécifique :grin: J'avais aussi pensé mettre une petite pique à la fédération française de patinage et ses capacités d'organisation de compétitions assez... impressionnantes :wtf: 'fin bref, ravie de voir qu'on est plusieurs francophones à avoir aussi bon goût - car seule les personnes de bon goût peuvent comprendre le génie de Yuzuru :bow: Et merci pour les compliments sur le titre du thread - visiblement, Yuzu rend les francophones lyriques, en tout cas si on en juge par les commentaires de ses performances XD. D'ailleurs au sujet des commentaires de patinage, pour avoir lu pas mal de traductions, je trouve qu'on n'est pas si mal servis en France finalement. - sur France TV, Paul Perret était très bien aux derniers championnats du monde, dommage qu'il n'ait fait que le programme court... - toujours sur France TV, nos trois affreux sont terriblement bavards, mais ils ont un certain enthousiasme communicatif que j'aime bien - enfin, pour revoir un programme seulement, parce qu'apprécier pleinement une performance pour la première fois quand on n'entends quasiment plus la musique à force de bavardage, c'est juste mission impossible. Enfin, Nelson Monfort me fait facepalmer assez souvent quand même, comment peut-il être autant aux fraises au niveau de la technique après avoir commenté le patinage pendant 30 ans ? ça me dépasse :devil: . Annick Dumont et ses "bravos" et "Ohlala" me fait marrer, et ses commentaires sont souvent pertinents quand même - idem pour Candel. Leur commentaire sur Yuzu à Nice en 2012 est quand même un des meilleurs qu'on trouve sur la toile, je trouve. - côté Eurosport, j'ai vraiment du mal avec Nathalie Péchalat moi aussi, elle fait partie de ces gens qui ont du mal avec les patineurs qui ne sont pas assez "virils" à leur goût et pour qui un programme doit forcément être "dansé" :thumbdown: . Mais j'ai bien apprécié Florent Amodio aux derniers championnats du monde, même si ses commentaires étaient un peu répétitifs - ça se comprend, il début. En tous cas il a l'air d'être complètement baba devant Yuzu :rofl: Je ne connais pas les commentaires suisse, ils sont bien ? Les commentaires québécois sont sympas aussi (et je craaaaque quand j'entends l'accent québécois).
