  1. Well, I don't think it's any of those things, but realistically speaking, that would mean him having to learn another skater's program on top of his own.
  2. So, I've been using this website - www.wanikani.com - for a while now to learn kanji. It has a colour scheme. Today it finally dawned on me what part of that colour scheme is. Behold, SEIMEI as learning aid: well, it made me chuckle anyway.
  3. As if. I simply can't imagine the ISU being that altruistic.
  4. probably why he does an awful lot of things, tbh...
  5. 6-quad Origin 2.0 ending with 4A landed right before the face of the ISU's chief judge. For the salt and the burn.
  6. The history associated with the colour is very interesting! All Yuzu has said about the colour choice so far, that I could find from interviews, is that they wanted to keep SEIMEI costume as is, but also wanted a way for fans to tell at a glance which SEIMEI they were looking at, so they had to change something about the costume, but not too much. And that he feels elegant and bright in the green.
  7. I want that bag!
  8. It's one of Yuzu's signature 3As, it'll be back. @KatjaThera I think it's the symmetry = beauty thing that they're talking about. In reality, no human being ever has a perfectly symmetrical face, so someone who comes very close to perfect symmetry would probably make most people feel subconsciously uneasy b/c of the unnaturalness of it. I certainly have that kind of reaction to Pattinson.
  9. And with good reason. I have no idea how they came to the conclusion that Robert Pattinson is the world's most beautiful man but his face has the opposite effect on me... Oh, come to think of it... @Crow - you were asking over in the 4CC thread how it's possible for Yuzu to be so much more handsome in person than on the screen, and this discussion here has got me thinking how to explain it: Yuzu's good heart and earnest spirit shines out of every pore and you really feel it when you see him in person. What's the saying? "Handsome is as handsome does"? it's literally that. Character counts.
  10. And even more people who don't intend to be irritating but have no clue how the things they write sound to their audience....
  11. I heartily approve of this use of my tax dollars https://twitter.com/SkateCanada/status/1225343307921780737?s=20
  12. The satellite is actually the one from the Planet's emoji palette, and the pink bow is literally taken from a photo of Yuzu wearing it at WTT 2017 ( in fact the whole Team Japan had them, image here: So I don't think I should mess with it since it's directly from a Yuzu moment.
  13. I'm still working this one out, so not sure yet. If I do put one in, it'd be a colour or the ice or something like that...nothing complex. I was thinking this concept would work well as a white silhouette on a coloured background
  14. One more. This one is more of a concept than a finalized design. I don't have rights to this photo either so would make it a silhouette or drawing instead I had a whole raft of designs using Origin 2.0 in my head, but they seem rather useless now...
  15. ...but are you going to give your opinion of the designs?
  16. Thanks! I will if it gets out of control, but so far I got it covered.
  17. Yes, I can totally change that. As I was making it, I wasn't sure what the right number would be. In fact I can change it now New link, now with 5 satellites, for the Olympic rings and because 3 was too lonely:
  18. Next design (I feel like this one is a little cute!) And this one is PW, SCI version (final art, because I took the photo). I think we'd either have to print it vertically and let people write their name on the rink beside Yuzu, or add white space to maintain the 2"x3" aspect ratio:
  19. Possibly the reason he's lashing out is because he doesn't have any other resort. I suspect that in the past, he's been able to use whatever skeletons he may have known about to full advantage. the fact that he is instead calling the Minister for Sport names just tells me he doesn't have any dirt on her that he can use. Anyway, it's easy to opine. Who knows what the real reality is. Except for this: if he truly cared about FFSG, instead of his own hide, he'd resign, even if he were truly as innocent of wrong doing* as he claims to be, and here's why: no one has any confidence in his ability to do the job any more. Time to let fresh blood in, so that the federation can recover and move forward. It's exactly the same as running a minority government in Parliament, and failing a confidence vote - you just don't have any other choice but to call an election. *I obviously don't think he is, but just for the sake of argument
  20. I think he's failing to understand that, even if he doesn't agree with the 'moralizing minister' excuse me while I roll my eyes at his BS, or think that he's in any way to blame, he has a responsibility to take action. And since he either didn't take action, or his actions were so ineffective they allowed problems to continue, then he needs to admit he's not doing the job he's paid to do and should step down.
  21. What did I say yesterday? here it goes...
  22. Whoa. I don't know why this makes it all that much worse, since it's already bad enough, but...whoa.
  23. It made the Wall Street Journal: https://www.wsj.com/articles/french-figure-skating-head-defies-call-to-resign-11580927314
  24. It's exactly because it's a sporting organization that someone like DG is able to rise and hold on to power. It's because no one takes it seriously when it's 'just sports', until it's too late .
