  1. He should come out with his own brand of skating brand/blade and name it like Fly Hanyu or Wing Hanyu or Yuzu on Air lol something like Air Jordan. I'm sure I'll get a pair for myself even if I don't skate
  2. LOL Roman only said Yuzu. He knows whats up. poor Stephen people asked him to speak up
  3. they're all skaters by day and fanyus by night
  4. is this true? haha edit: seems like it. yuzu collecting elite fanboys and fangirls left and right Coaches: His coach (brian), his rival's coach(raf), his idol's coach(mishin), his idol's rival's coach (tat) Idols: his idol (plushenko), his idol's rival(yagudin) ladies: miyahara, zhenya, zagitova, yulia, men: daniel, stephen, camden, tomoki, the whole team japan novice: sasha and the sweeping boy(forgot his name)
  5. I'm with the opinion that if Yuzu skated clean with the loop for worlds, I don't want to see Origin recycled. Maybe try 4a at WTT/gala? I personally am not the biggest fan of Origin. At his current level of skating, I believe any program he skates to would produce this level of quality. I just couldn't connect with it as much as I did with his other programs (possibly because this is the intention of his character portrayal as a remote being -- something you might get from that of Princess Kaguya if you're familiar with Anime, who knows) I'm just more into HL/Chopin or PW/LGC programs. Origin gives off Seimei energy but a bit more hostile. It's always giving me a suspenseful and cold feeling that keeps me on edge. It took a while for Seimei to grow on me so I think it is the same with Origin. I am so ready for it to prove me wrong. But if we get a kuyashii Origin, thats a diff story. I do think we will get a recycling here since he might want to tribute a perfect skate for Russia and Plushenko. I also agree that a familar program might allow him to focus more on the technical elements. But Yuzu, you do you. You want to Origin in 2022 for Beijing? I am going down with you
  6. Media day has the Origin we all deserve to see he skated with so much vitality and passion. the movements were precised For Worlds I pray we can get the best version of Origin. For example, I hope we get the biellman spin in place of the A Spin, get that 4loop from ACI practice where its right on the gong sound, get that perfect 4 Sal from Helsinki, 4T from COR, and 4Toe3A from every practice. Then back that twizzle and TRs from ACI, his aura from Helsinki, and his sharpness and final spin and layback from COR! But most of all, like everyone here, I want to see a happy and healthy Yuzu. 4 years ago at Saitama he carried the weight of his country as an Olympic Champion and this time, I can't imagine how much more pressure he would feel with the depth of the men's field and his condition. So while I really want to see all of the aforementioned elements, I know I will love whatever he produces on the ice.
  7. LOL /dead I remember my dad told me how he couldnt believe Yuzu is a guy because his face is so pretty. He asked me several times to confirm. "are you sure he is a guy? so pretty!" like he kept saying Yuzu has such delicacy in his face that resembles that of a lady. I can totally see this. But to me he has always looked boyishly handsome rather than actually pretty. He's got that anime protagonist looks to him, like a flower boy. But not androgynous like many asian singers I have seen. I also used an app in the past that kinda morphs a person's face into the opposite gender. Yuzu's didnt look as good as I thought as a girl.
  8. that feeling when you saw Helsinki 4loop and realized it's only number 19 on the list. and let's talk about those flows in and out of the program and how they're right on the music and done with a purpose and simply as if they are just part of the transitions throughout the choreo
  9. all of this worlds discussion makes my heart idk how it will be once we start getting the planned layouts
  10. I feel like Alina skated clean whenever she isnt seen as the ultimate gold contender. She bombs whenever she knows she has to be perfect to win and because her health/technique is failing her. Last season, she was the rookie in the senior circuit and so the underdog to Zhenya. she even admitted this herself that it was way easier for her the first season. the reason she started bombing at Worlds was due to being seen as undefeated. I feel like Zhenya's presence/absence was definitely one of the factors but the real factor comes down to having someone else to share that pressure. For example, she started bombing at Worlds bc she was the OGM and undefeated up until then. Then she skated well beginning of this season at competitions where the field isnt that deep. Then she lost at GPF after everyone knew about Rika's scoring potential at NHk. She bombed again at Rus Nats when the juniors were chasing her esp after knowing Anna's results. So at Worlds this time, I think like she would feel abit less pressured compared to GPF or Euro since Rika is now sharing that pressure and spotlight. If she bombs its more so a matter of her health condition/technique failing.
  11. What makes me upset is its not like they are doing figure skating favor by sending Zhenya esp when Worlds ticket sales are not dependent upon their skaters this season. I'm sure there are enough fanyus to fill the arena alone.
  12. I sorta expected this results considering how favored Zhenya has been all of these years over Liza both domestically and internationally. But I still feel really upset with the results. Im not upset at Zhenya because its not her choice and I am sure she will fight here at Worlds. Happy for her that she is given a chance and to rise from the ashes from all of these bad experiences throughout the season. however, the truth is she still didnt produce the results throughout the seasons and even when she did not medal, she was still generously helped to get those scores. I remember her URs werent called at GP IDF after that disastrous skate. And I would have honestly supported this decision had Liza been chosen but withdrawn. But I guess RusFed prefers drama and they think a comp with Alina, Evgenia, Rika will be more exciting to watch. And Zhenya is still one of the judges' favorites. Her potential international ceiling is higher than Liza's despite the lower base value because of the PCS inflation. Her techs were rarely called even this season internationally. She is only lower than Alina in PCS if both skate clean. With Alina's condition, it seems like having both Zhenya and Rika in the same comp will be a pressure cooker again for her. So I dont expect her to do squeaky clean. Zhenya on the other hand has less pressure now and is seen as the underdog..If she skates clean in the short, she could def get around 77 pts. So she can still medal. Idk urgh
  13. I agree with you and I think what I meant by "people", I was referring to his antis LOL logically, people should agree a clean Yuzu deserves 10s and +5GOEs but I mean I think his haters would still claim those as home inflation regardless of how he skated.
  14. Yeah I just feel like it's hard to not read from social media (even Yuzu reads tweets about him, doesn't he? and he's someone who doesn't have an acc himself) Nathan bombing at Oly is a big evidence that he's affected somewhat from external pressure. Also, I've caught Nathan often scrolling through his phone and he even said in his post olympic interviews that he got a lot of messages from people congratulating him. And I also think Raf being a coach helps because he likes to push Nathan, just like what Nathan said after his US nats interview. unlike someone coughsTomzcoughs --- RE: Yuzu skating at Worlds I'm interested to see whether he'll bomb in the short and coming back in the free this time like how he did in Helsinki or in his usual fashion, perfect in the short and then miss a quad or combo in the free. People said you can't win with the short but you can lose with it. So which scenario is better? With the depth of the men's field, I find this season there's no room for error because every one is so competitive that they're willing to do everything to beat him, esp Nathan who has the capability to go for a 5th or 6th quad if he bombed in the short. My concern at the moment is how he would be able to handle the pressure in the short program. We all know he's good at handling pressure, but logically, he's human and human has emotions too. It's going to be the first time he skates after 4 months. It's his first time skating at home since NHK 2016 (?) and this time it's for Worlds. He's once again the reigning Olympic Champion, the guy to beat, and people expect him to deliver and get that home inflation. I remember he was so so so nervous at Worlds 2014, you could see it throughout his performance in the short program. Plus ever since 2017/2018 season, there's less room for error for him and much less this season when I honestly honestly don't know if a clean 4 quad 2 3as Yuzuru could not be beaten anymore (call me pessimistic but I have faith in Yuzu just not the judging) if someone else goes for a higher BV and skated clean. All the best to Yuzu
  15. RE: Nathan I agree but I also think it's come with the help of a part of the fandom who, despite of being called haters/crazy fanyus, kept voicing out his skating issues. If everyone else had taken it as gospel truth, he would probably have not been motivated enough to prove himself. But also kudos to Nathan himself because he's got a wise head on his shoulders to receive these constructive criticisms. I've seen a lot of other skaters who responded the opposite.
  16. HOP IN! Join me in @LetsRabbit https://www.rabb.it/makebelieveup *first time streaming I hope this works!
  17. Wait the challenge cup is today until 6pm? Might not be a good idea to do it at 1pm my time. Anyone has suggestion?
  18. Would 1 pm Eastern Standard Time (New York) works for all of you guys? It's my first time doing it, I'm planning to use SkatingPortal.com to load videos. Hopefully that's okay!
  19. I'll join! But I miss Yuzu so much and I kinda want to do a random streaming party maybe this weekend? I'm thinking of doing like his clean perfs
  20. I knowwww! but now suddenly Worlds feels so close. I remember 3 months ago not being able to enjoy anything esp around the holidays. I kept hanging onto those small hopes of seeing him at GPF and then Nationals (tho of course i knew it wouldnt happen) that helped me get by 2018. Now I am actually too anxious for Worlds. I guess these 4 months of him not competing is a blessing in disguise lol I always get heart attack watching him compete
  21. Yeah but still not enough. lots of selective uncalled UR at 4cc and Im scared it will remain that way at worlds. But we'll see
