  1. Vincent definitely said something, a tweet of his or maybe on the Olympic Channel. Then there was Kovtun when talking about Worlds 19 said that Yuzu's skate was the one he found the most memorable (or something like that), Nathan's interview where he said that thing about hoping when meeting his heroes they were as everything he hoped - and Yuzu was and more - Scott Moir at last years' FoI when Yuzu talking him and Tessa into axels saying in japan Yuzu is God or King...
  2. Also, Yuzu does have that almost unearthly, not quite human quality sometimes on the ice, a supernatural aura (as some say, almost a living anime) which means he can wear what others can't (Shoma does come close sometimes, and Takahashi, Mura and especially Machida were every bit as ornate at times )
  3. Well, they let Australia in (first as an anniversary one-off and now we're.... part of Europe once a year ) and I believe the Japanese are fans, soooo...... maybe one day, yes. I doubt Yuzu would appear himself but I can see a Japanese singer honoring him in costume or music
  4. This is really exciting, I adore Javi being all Spanish and sexy....
  5. But Eurovision didn't (the priceless sendup by the Swedish hosts in 2016 mentioned him along with a heap of other magic nonsense moments in its history....) Hey, if they ever let Japan in, maybe the singer can do a Yuzu tribute in costume!
  6. Yuzu's bratty bit is just pure sweet-natured mischief and therefore endearing and adorable....
  7. That's it, thank you! Now he just needs to do it again, just for fun....
  8. There's a video with all three Changes shown simultaneously... does anyone know how to find it on youtube? I save it but not its subject line. It is glorious
  9. It is so heartwarming to see the artists in both music and other fields all paying tribute as well as people from other sports, a measure of how special he really is.
  10. until

I hope so, I have just realised that FoI starts on my birthday and watching Yuzu, Javi, Nobu (I so love Nobu) and Stephane would be a wonderful present
  11. There were streaming parties for several shows, it was wonderful, people all over coming together to celebrate
  12. I missed this!!!! Can anyone tell me the date it was posted?
  13. Again, we find out that Yuzu's grasp of the meaning of certain words does not quite match that of normal people.... but surely he knows the audience will understand if he takes it a little easy (not that he understands that word either) I noticed that most of the ecstatic comments on the tweet also begged him to take care and be gentle with himself... the love and protectiveness he inspires is something else.
  14. He could do a COiNTU and just stand there and critique the others.... the audience would ADORE it
  15. Been listening to the Tokyo Ghoul soundtrack, Yuzu doing a program to this would be the coolest and fiercest thing ever.... only problem, who's going to convince him that no he can't wear the mask????
  16. I think it went even further - not only because Yuzu faced violent death (and saw it all around him) at such a young age and had to overcome and rise over his survivor's guilt and responsibility, but also rapidly became a symbol for Sendai, the whole disaster area and all of Japan of that rise. He must have realised very quickly that, sweet and goofy kid or no, he was going to have to carry the hopes and emotional catharsis for thousands of people suffering grief and long-term trauma - that he could help them by being that symbol, being what they needed someone to be, a survivor, a champion, a hero. You see it best in the older people and the children when he visits or skates for them: the old folk make me almost cry when they watch him, he's not just a skater to them, I find myself wondering (as I do sometimes watching Yuzu) "what do you see?" because it's clearly something more. There's an extra gravitas to Yuzu at those times and when he is called on to be that symbol, that few others can, need to, or would want to have. It's wonderful and inspiring, but it's also a hell of a burden as well, albeit once he takes on himself willingly and always has.
  17. Of course, that bot about 'does he walk on earth in skates" immediately made me think of...
  18. We will have time for shows - wonderful shows - when he does give up competition. For now, he has goals to fulfill first...
