7th of July is 七夕 (Tanabata) - Sendai's Tanabata festival has been cancelled this year because of COVID19. But people can still celebrate it at home with their loved ones. I have made a tanzaku (wishing strip?) 短冊 online. I wished for Yuzu that he can skate to his ideal. You can only write up to 24 Japanese characters (not words) so you can't write much in English unfortunately. If you click grey button (みんなの短冊を見る) underneath green button, you can see tanzaku that have been posted by others. Many people had posted wishing strips for Yuzu. These wishing strips will be printed and put on 笹 (bamboo grass) then be burned.

Boys name number 1 and 4 have 翔 which means fly high/soar. The kanji has feather 羽 in it. Girls name number 6 and 7 have 結 which means tie/knot. 翔 has been very popular name for boys for years (1st & 2nd most popular name during Heisei era has 翔 kanji) and so is 結衣 (6th most popular name during Heisei).

I've noticed this around Perth as well. My niece's kids are wearing UA gears and saw more kids wearing them lately. Not sure it's gaining more popularity because they're becoming more affordable or some other reason.

I've read LOTR and The Hobbits in Japanese in my junior high school days. Don't know about now but back then, they're using rather old expressions and wording so it wasn't easy to understand... (got the emoji button back)

I don't want to repeat the contents so I just refer... @Ririka Please be careful of what you post here in terms of external SNS contents. The OP of these tweets is clearly anti of Yuzu. There's no use in trying to 'educate' these people. You can report the person or the post as harmful or ill-intent but should avoid getting caught up in fighting with them. I'd treat these tweet as if they're doggy pxxs on the street. They are annoying and stinking like hell and most people see it would avoid them. Only ones that are attracted to are flies or other creepy creatures finding it useful for them. Good manure can be made from...pxxs you know?

This is very trashy so called ranking site for anything and everything. It has many different categories and one of the categories is figure skating. Basically antis and fans who want to defend for their fav picking a fight by leaving comments and press likes/dislikes. It could get really low... Don't bother going after it and watch Yuzu videos instead. Honestly...

It's a bit late but 23rd of May being "Day of kissing" in Japan so this OP has compiled blowing kisses from Yuzu I was remembering about FaOI last year and thinking how lucky we're to have had Toshi and Yuzu collaborated like they did. It's probably the best of FaOI so far imo. I pray hard for more moments like FaOI 2019 to come in the future...
