木洩れ日/木洩れ陽 definitely gives H&L vibe!! When I think of expressions within H&L, gentle sunlight through the leaves is there among with the other natural elements/phenomena that are reminded by Yuzu's performance. I see clear water run through creeks and well polished pebbles as well as breeze blowing through the forests appears in my head while I watch H&L WC 2017. For me, H&L contains the everything that represent kindness/gentleness/light/life/good things/richness in the universe...

Thank goodness we're back!! So they're going to broadcast Music with wings on CS Asahi. I've seen few Japanese fanyu's blogs and all of them are saying the concerts were really moving. There was a video message from Yuzu himself and he's wearing black suit with white shirt no tie but with red pocket square...

What will be Yuzuru Hanyu's EX program for 4CC 2020?

Oh I so miss having 年越し蕎麦!! Japanese new year feels so solemn and that's totally opposite of the western count down happy party atmosphere. I sometime miss cold, dark and quiet Japanese new year but I'm happy with hot, bright and noisy Aussie new year. I think we're going to the beach on new year's day Wherever you are, I wish all the satellites a HAPPY NEW YEAR. 2020 is going to be another super roller coaster ride with our wonder boy YUZURU!!

It is still 2019 where I live so post these from Cazru on twitter looking back Yuzu's 2019. Thank you 2019's Yuzu and hello & happy new year to Yuzu and co. for 2020! THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!

I feel Yuzu's critical view for his own performance/results is a sign of belief towards his own ability. He often expresses he could improve more and that is because his ideal skating as well as the trust in his own ability sits higher than the results. But I also feel that he does recognise his own efforts at the same time and yet because he believes his maximum effort/ability hasn't been reached, he has to mention that he should train more. I have listened and translated radio talk show with Taro Hakase (violinist/musician) where Yuzu talked about his views for many different things including training. He said that most people train 100% and hoping to perform 80% at a comp but he should train for 120% in order to perform 100% at a comp. In Japanese culture, we often say the result/effort is nothing significant out of 謙遜 (humility). But I feel Yuzu's self criticism goes beyond the standard humility level. He really believes that he can still improve whatever the circumstances. So whenever I see his interview and hear "I should train more" or "It's about 20%" then I just take it as he's not going to give up any time soon I will follow this incredible athlete to see how far he can go together with other fellow fanyus. What he's doing is so rare that I only have my own luck to be thankful for living in the same era as him. As for the programs that have special place in my heart: RJ1 WC 2012 and H&L WC 2017 together with SEIMEI NHK & GFP 2015. LGC GPF 2015. Also Requiem Boston 2016 gives me chills. And can't leave out TFTT GPF 2014 and NS WC 2017. Chopin-SEIMEI-NS at PC 2018 are must. PW (single & team) from Sochi 2014 and RJ2 from WC 2014. And so many more that I can't finish choosing from... To me, there's no bad program when it comes to Yuzu. There are absolutely brilliant performance and not so great ones. But when you start to look into why he didn't perform well at a particular time, you'll realise there are so much more drama than you can imagine. I like watching his earlier performances as well. For example, I like watching Zigeunerweisen from 4CC 2011 where young Yuzu ran out of steam. It shows his fresh talent and the way he was at that time. The one I love is with Chinese commentary that the commentator just finds him so cute and can't help but to cooing over him! But I couldn't find it on YT so just put CBC version here with commentary none other than Tracey Wilson herself. ********** I don't like the word recycling as that sounds like you're trying to make more use out of something that are destine to be thrown away. We Japanese use 継続 that simply means "continuing" which is a fact and no negative or positive sentiment attached to it. And as Yuzu had worked particular programs that brought him the 2nd OGM, continuing on polishing programs had worked quite well for him. But I too hope for new competition programs next season simply because I want to see different beauty that we haven't seen yet.

This Christmas our daughter came home from UK and stayed for 3 weeks. She didn’t use roaming with her own network bc it’s too expensive. So I lent her my phone when she wanted to use data. After few times, she’s asked me “The guy on your mobile screen, is.it that skater guy?” I said “Yes” And she just shook her head “Mum you’re crazy” Well...maybe but staying up till 4am watching FS live streaming is crazier so I won’t argue about my sanity these days

Yes it's too precious to use so many of the fanyus end up storing them in a protective folder...that's when you realise you're truly in the middle of hanyu 沼

The weather man said it's going to be 36 celsius on the Christmas day for the part of the world I live. We probably just open bottles of bubblies, get some BBQ, drink more bubblies, talk, have more bubblies, listen to the queen's speech then have more bubblies. And at night, we'll have a toasted sandwich with avocado and prawns. I was born in northern hemisphere and moved to down under so summer Christmas is still not quite natural but I came to love it Merry Christmas and happy holiday for all satellites!! Wherever you are on this planet, may your days be filled with love, laughter and happiness for the festive season.Thank you for being the integral part of my fanyu life. You guys are the BEST!!!

Dec 22nd is winter solstice in northern hemisphere. I hope Yuzu gets good result and enjoy yuzu-yu (柚子湯) after a hard day in the office tomorrow

This is NOT Yuzu...it cannot be... it's like a character in Westworld... I can ignore the hideous costume but the photoshop just destroyed the beauty of Yuzuru Hanyu. I'm gonna have a nightmare with cyborg Yuzu jumps 4A and at the landing, his head comes off and headless body lands the perfect 4A and the head still spinning on the ice saying "4A +5GOE complete"...
-
I really hope Maia's speedy recovery and good biopsy result. Take care love...

Axel-n (name of the jump baby) is trying hard to land 4A. When Pooh saw it, he's decided to get rid of all Bisko which is Pooh's favourite cream sandwich biscuits. Don't know if western country have this but in Japanese culture, you give up your favourite thing (food, drink, hobby, etc) for the sake of your wish to come true (願掛け). And when Yuzu saw what Pooh's doing, he's told Pooh that he doesn't have to give up the biscuits assuring him that Axel-n will land 4A because he will be there. Yes we all will be there!!

I've just found these tweets and want to share them with you. He is a medical doctor who is into marshal arts and also admires the artist Prince. The thread is about Yuzu and he's comparing him to what Prince did through his music/life. Post1 : He's describing the way things turned out for both, Prince and Yuzu that: "After their big successes (Purple Rain for Prince and Olympics for Yuzu), that had become their standards and anything less than that, they're criticised being failures by the medias and such. But we know better that their strength is being 'never give up/not to be defeated' by those media's critical responses" Post2: "I'd imagine if you set a goal at very obvious 'success' such as chart no1 hit or gold medal/winning, then you perhaps cannot draw the strength that's needed to reach the goal and go beyond. The vision that cannot be shared with anyone else as they're the forefront of the field would be greater. Their struggle for trying to forge ahead through difficulties inspires us and shows the true awesomeness" Post3: "As for Prince's case, his true purposes, was not about creating hit music. He aimed to master all kinds of music styles in order to create music that transcends all differences - race, gender, rich or poor, countries, regions, and social systems, to overcome the divisions of all sorts. For this purpose, he had to have the US and the worldwide success in sales of his music because that would warrant him of accessing the rest of the areas as he wishes" Post4: "As the world already acknowledged that Hanyu-senshu has reached many milestones of his competition career. But despite the fact, he continues to strive in the very severe world of competitive skating aiming to reach even higher level. That means, it is inevitable that he must compete against himself with the past records. To have such a heart to challenge the hardest and that is the most courageous thing therefore is brilliant" Post5: "Prince used to show the same courage through his struggles for overcoming many setbacks that crippled him at the time. He showed us the way not the 'How to be successful in life' but the 'How to tackle life'. Do you know the words he said at the last concert in Japan? He said 'Thank you. I'm alright' Post6: "The song that Hanyu-senshu chosen for his competition music Let's Go Crazy is an agitative song. 'And if the elevator tries to bring you down' then 'Go crazy, punch a higher floor'. We say 'No' to the demons and 'Go crazy'. We're gonna run crazily!. Prince agitated the audience" Post7: "There will be an opportunity to choose after an obvious result, that is, to 'live with the result' or to 'live for a new challenge'. What Hanyu-senshu shows us is not 'living with the past records' but 'living for the current challenges'. Prince once said 'Courage creates new bloom'. The brilliance of Hanyu-senshu's courageous spirit shines brighter than the gold"

I believe Alina's decision had to come eventually in terms of her mental growth not just with the physical side. When she's young, being taught what to do and follow the instructions were easier without questioning too much. But as you're growing up, you'll develop a sense of oneself beyond what the current environment is allowing them. It's a real shame that we don't have many female skaters left to show how maturity can add more depth to their skating/performances. The essence of ladies figure skating that I adore is vanishing rapidly as more and more jump focused styles are rewarded unnecessarily. Doing big jumps in programs is great but the quality of skating itself should also be raised to have the overall effect more balanced and complete. Otherwise, squeezing a mop then wiping the floor with it theme continues and that's really not a pretty sight.

New Lotte gum CM videos (follow the link on the OP to get to the official site). There are "Fact" version & "Why" version YT videos and also making video as well. I love this all black Yuzu. His dominant aura is just so irresistible...
