  1. I think it's because Kurt Browning worked on it with him LOL
  2. I figured out why his 4F is unimpressive. It's not because he PRs (it's within the textbook amount), but because he doesn't get good vault on it, and then rotates very quickly to get 4 revs in. This makes it look empty and "not full" -- it fizzles and filibusters instead of sizzling through the air like Boyang's 4Lz, or Yuzuru's 3A, or Kolyada's 3Lz, or Javi's 4S.
  3. I think Shae Lynn has choreographed interesting movement . He and Shae Lynn seem to click. Of course, I don't know what he'll end up doing with it, but the choreography itself is pretty good. If he keeps it, it should aid the effect he wants to create, even if he personally ends up not being too joyful.
  4. Yep, either of these, or the slight perception of tiredness I had from that performance. I do think there was an attempt to be serious in a few parts, so I think he's trying, but it's also an Ice show, so maybe he decided to just go ahead and play to the audience mostly. This is something I'll be waiting to see in competition, because whatever the reason, the program seems like it needs work, so all of them ought to be all over it for the next few weeks.
  5. Agreed. It's also actually (to my perception) a difficult performance to deliver maturely. Someone could do angst easily, but this particular song needs a lot of maturity and control along with it that he needs to grasp. It's a good one to grow with, though, so if he succeeds, that's a great look on him. It will help him with depth. Perhaps that's what he and his team have in mind. There seem to be nuances that a proper performance will bring out.
  6. Actually, watching Nathan's SP from here, it looks promising, too. Not sure what it will end up as, but there's some nice stuff there in terms of choreo.
  7. Clearly needs work there... But it's quite promising. More interesting movement than the others I've watched.
  8. It's because it specifically makes his arms look disjointed from his core, make him look like he's moving them through mud, and make him project downwards, almost, or into his arms, at best
  9. There is nothing special or new in this program. Where is the gentle sway of love? The whirlwind romance? Meh. He's moving to the music, but not with it.
  10. We... I... We... already knew he could do this from before
  11. I need someone to take her away from Eteri and fix her legs. It would just make it all look SO much better.
  12. They did do that schoolboy skate in the Korean Ice show. Aaaaah. Strange.
  13. Oh. Maybe google translate is doing a shoddy job, because I don't see how anyone can sing and dance to a dog
  14. https://twitter.com/kujichan3310/status/1025635783997251584 Does anyone now what "Masaru" means? He sang and danced to it, apparently. And I've read that he did his new LP at the new show, too! Are they the same?
  15. Because he choreographed three olympic winning skates, and this masterpiece: He's done a few others, but very few others. The reason people go to DW and LN is because they have a track-record, and this means the judges gobble up their choreographic output and give the programs high PCS, deserved or not. I don't believe DW in particular might have the time to work with skaters for more than a week (though I can only guess). It's sad. He did this piece: And this is the work he put into it: Now he seems to use the skaters' greatest hits. I do blame at least the way judges score partly, however.
  16. Also, I need someone to skate to this: And then argue with the judges if they don't get 10s in PCS.
  17. It's the French Fed. The ISU probably reasonably asked them to have a semblance of standards. Not agreeing or disagreeing with anything you wrote, but just pointing out that knee bend and ankles affect jump landings a lot, too.
