  1. Just choreograph something for yourself, Yuna
  2. https://goldenskate.com/2019/03/mona-adolfsen-on-being-an-isu-judge-and-the-new-scoring-system/ But it's not
  3. Choreographer is something else IDK about, strictly talking about non-elite skaters. I doubt most of them have the money to afford a coach AND a choreographer, so I assumed the coach + skaters work together for it.
  4. Cool, thanks. It's a hard task thinking about proper skating music cuts, and so I wondered if anyone tries to do it themselves. No everyone would be able to afford a sound engineer after all.
  5. Generally though, do the test-takers cut their own music for a test that requires a program?
  6. We all know we want Masaru as 2019 WC.
  7. Do you have to skate a program? If so, do you have to cut your own music?
  8. Boyang was foreshadowing Scorbunny, obviously.
  9. She was 7th in junior nats iirc. For the rest of your post, well, yes, that's part of why I've stopped believing Eteri and her coaching deserve to have a black and white view. Mishin did have Samodurova as a junior up until last season. Interested in seeing how that one junior girl who did the Russian snow fairy LP's coach ends up doing, because that skater had nice basics for her age, but not great jumps in terms of quality. (ETA: Kanysheva, and she's coached by Panova)
  10. Wish she'd ditch Wilson. House of Woodcock was boring.
  11. What's the female equivalent of "good boi"
  12. Yeah, please delete if you see fit. Sorry, shouldn't have brought it over.
  13. The rumour that Zagitova wasn't going to get sent for worlds turned out untrue. But I did think at the beginning of the season Kostornaia might leave Eteri. Why now, after the rest of the season she's had, IDK, but it is certainly true that she doesn't have a quad, that she doesn't have her 3A stabilized, and that she wants to be competitive next season as a senior. I shouldn't have brought over this rumour though. Maybe the mods should delete it as they see fit. Quite unsubstantiated for now.
  14. ... and there are rumours that she's leaving Eteri.
  15. Kostornaia out of JWC due to sickness.
  16. We as fans might get over that. It's easy for us, it's not our careers in jeopardy.
  17. Yes! It's still quite a young dog. Someone on this thread said they grow up to 65-70 cm from toe to shoulder iirc.
  18. It's very close to worlds now, so I'll just voice my hope that Karen Chen makes a good comeback next season.
  19. Will there be a Universiade thread?
  20. I guess yagudin doesn't count because he was still with TAT?
  21. I do not know if Lipnitskaya knew about her. But she has similar talents: neither is the best jumper, but both have great extension and spins. And Lipnitskaya somewhat resembles her. It could be that Eteri also noted all this, and then gave her some of the music Cohen used (Malaguena, nutcracker, R&J), but this could also just be me projecting I had no idea about this. That's cool! Nah, I agree they're still very good, I was just comparing out of curiosity. And of course she's inspired many others. Her flexibility is still talked about to this day for a reason.
  22. Haha they defo tried to make her look like Sasha Cohen as a junior. I agree juniors will be more flexible and faster with spins. For the transition into Biellmann, Lipnitskaya did go straight up into the position which itself is hard, it just looked like Valieva made a hard position during the transition, but I could be wrong because it's too quick!
  23. Haven't watched Lipnitskaya in juniors, but this Biellmann seems faster than hers, and the way she transitions into the Bielmann seems especially harder. ETA: She also holds it longer, and accentuates the note with change in the position of her torso
