  1. Even Hersh goes out of his way to say that Brian didn't ask for permission but told him about it. I bet there's a whole lot of nuance missing from that quote.
  2. Nthing the Hersh doubts. He wouldn't misquote, of course. But he'd definitely cherrypick and slant things. Well, we'll see how it all turns out.
  3. (The Harem should be included in the H section, shouldn't it? )
  4. But hasn't put Chopin up on its own on YouTube.
  5. I think it'll be even more focused on preserving his body now, after the last injury. It would be more doable to have a handful of top skaters who all get enough attention if they don't all train for five hours a day with the same coaches. Skating and stroking drills might be done with training partners but if intensive individual training time is limited anyway, Yuzu's training shouldn't suffer because of all this. Gotta say, Ghislain will be really putting in a shift now, though.
  6. Yuzu's asthma means he can't train as long as many skaters can at a stretch, doesn't it? Maybe it means nothing but his number of hours of training per week on ISU bio is not as high as most others'. He's probably had to really make those hours count from the time he was a kid, so not much will probably change as far as Yuzu's training is concerned. Plus I think they will also focus on not burdening his ankle too much from now on, so his training might be far more quality than quantity now.
  7. Something like that, but there are lots of robot animes where that happens, too. Let's not forget the Gundam Dory, either. But no, it's a joke, I'm pretty sure he watched zero anime then. He denied himself video games and headphones during that time to focus on only recovery and image training and preparation, I doubt he made an exception for anime. Or Captain Planet, he's a hero... ETA Great now I can't get it out of my head. Captain Planet, he's a hero, gonna take pollution down to zero... AAARRRGHHH
  8. .... How much anime do you think he watched when he couldn't train?
  9. That Twitter thread said not everybody at TCC would be staying. The rest is speculation, maybe because Lilbet didn't have a great season. Maybe Gabby?
  10. You know all those times I posted wondering if anybody knew anything about Jason's coaching situation? NOT WHAT I EXPECTED TO HEAR EVENTUALLY!!
  11. What? What's happening here? What? The only solution I can think of is that TCC is expanding its team. What next? Raf to TCC? I feel like Yuzu has no intention of staying at TCC for the next four years. A couple of years maybe - land the 4A, get it stable, set a couple of records with the new BV and SOV, win 4CC, Canadian gold, a fifth GPF and Worlds - at least some of those things. After that, even if he's up to skating on, I think he might go back to Japan. Another four years away from home? I don't think so, now. That would mean, for the next quad, there could be two TCC contenders for 2022: Junhwan and Boyang. They must figure they can handle that. Jason, too, will be there to do well for the next couple of seasons, and maybe get on the Olys team if the field allows him to do that. I don't know about US juniors, but... Krasnozhon and? Nate and Yale? If he stays fit and gets his jumps figured out, he could get on the team, maybe. Not direct competition to Junhwan or Boyang. For the ladies, I suppose Lilbet or Gabby might leave. It's only Zhenya being added there. SO FAR. HAAA I forgot Stephen. So has there been any insider tips about age limit coming in for 2022? Who knows, maybe there's more to that than we thought.
  12. That's the most noticeable thing that has changed. She used to pull her arms back. Apparently ladies don't do it as much because inertia of getting arms into position when jump needs faster than usual rotation anyway. Yuzu is just magic when it comes to the axel.
  13. I'm chuckling because Yuzu did bring all his friends home for dinner. Some stayed for a while, others have been adopted.
  14. I love his hydroblades and IB. I can usually tell which programme it's from even watching UA clips without music, because each is distinctive. I prefer his Biellmann in ex programmes, he gets much better extension and keeps speed better when he doesn't have to expend energy on so many jumps. But it is pretty awesome that he can still do it at all. I'd be very very sad to lose his hydroblade or his layback IB! And I love that new variation on the hydroblade he did, without changing foot on exit. It was sooo cool! (I do also think that his hydroblade has definitely evolved. His edge control has improved, and how he touches the ice with his hand has changed drastically, too. He can hold that edge without touching the ice at all now for a large part of the curve and that's incredible.)
  15. I'm beginning to feel like a degree in international relations is necessary to understand skating feds, tbh. And political science too, possibly.
  16. I forgot Gabby. (ETA: And Gogolev!) Add Canada to the list. That's... Every influential fed represented except one!
  17. Says Brian said they'd be giving the direction and guidance they gave Javi. That has to mean Brian and Tracy will be training him.
  18. You know, this means TCC has major skaters from Japan, China and Russia skating feds (especially when you consider that Wakaba spent a week there, too). Now let me put my tinfoil hat on and consider: They must have discussed the arrangements with respective feds at least unofficially, and, well, this would be one way to make sure politics for TCC skaters don't get dictated by the US Fed's influence. Disclaimer: I'M ABSOLUTELY NOT SAYING THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE DOING! This is me tinfoiling, and that's it.
  19. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be wrong! WOW!!!!!!!
  20. But this might mean Boyang will never fix his board problem!
  21. Holy pumpkin, I was so WRONG and I AM SO GLAD!!!!!
  22. I think this past season made her a much stronger competitor. Fingers crossed that Wakababy is now mature enough to handle the inevitable pops and falls on the 3A. It would be amazing though, she has the Midori Ito build - short, powerful.
  23. And Stephane and Caro, and... Just realized I'm going to be disappointed no matter who they cut, after all!
  24. Looks to me like she has changed her takeoff technique.
