If you read all the quotes that were published, you'll see that he does have concerns about Stephen practising quads as well. He said - I'm paraphrasing - that he does have Stephen, who is jumping quads, but training for him is so carefully done, with attention paid to his growing pains. 'Growing pains' are the words he used - that the moment Stephen feels pain, he stops training, until he's feeling completely fine and ready, which could be a couple of weeks. Stephen is used to/okay with those breaks as well. It's a bit much to expect an elite coach to not let his students train quads at all when they need quads to compete. But it sounded like Brian is trying to make the best choices within the constraints of what he has to do. I don't think he mentioned Lil Bet. I do worry about Lil Bet because she was obviously injured, even if she managed to get better by the Olys - enough to perform cleaner than she had in a while. She had a hip injury, and she looked uncomfortable. We don't know how her training was handled during that time, but she did not have a good runup to the Olys. From what I remember, Brian did get Lil Bet to slow down on quads. Gabby, however, is rumoured to have a 4T now.

What part of she did in fact inform her club are you not getting? Do you know how these hierarchies work? Are skaters supposed to inform feds directly, or are they supposed to go through their club? She informed her club. She informed them, and then gave a date for her press statement. So everybody could prepare. What exactly should she have done? How could she have arranged synchronised information for her club, her fed and her fans? 'Instead' because she cannot be in two places at the same time? The timeframe between the club's announcement and her planned statement is literally only one weekend. You know what, I'm not responding to you anymore. I've basically said the same thing three times to you and you're either not hearing it or don't want to, so, bye.

Imagine if she did that - instead of telling her club as she did, just hold a press conference and say she's leaving. That would make it clear all right, but imagine the backlash. What exactly was the viable option here? Maybe things have become so bad between coach and student that they can't even have a real conversation. I don't blame Zhenya for not wanting to hear the poison that we heard today being said to her face, tbqh.

Because Eteri went on TV and gave an interview, and that's Zhenya's fault? How is that also Zhenya's fault? Apparently she informed her club, as she was supposed to. The club released a media report. Zhenya said she would make a statement on Monday. Eteri went on TV and called Zhenya immature and revealed details of an alleged definitely private conversation. And they're both at fault? Why, exactly? Maybe when more facts are known, we'll see that Zhenya might have done better. Maybe. But so far, there is absolutely nothing except Eteri's TV interview to suggest that in any way.
