  1. Is that really possible? Eteri doesn't even like training tall girls!
  2. Or maybe she didn't turn it into a TV drama, and she needed her details all settled, and to come back from vacation, before she set her future plans straight. It was her club's head that released the first report, not her. The club that Eteri coaches for, yes? Perhaps that should be taken to mean that she had in fact informed the club, and they had chosen to not release the news until then? How is that her turning it into a TV drama?
  3. Yes, she should have taken flowers to her like Adian did, and said thank you and goodbye. That worked out just fantastic. Eteri was full of praise for him and absolutely did not, after all that, call him a lazy boy for saying he couldn't skate when his back was killing him. NOT. And the only interview was from Eteri. Zhenya said she would have a press conference after the news broke. We assume the news broke from Zhenya's camp, and we assume that Eteri and her team knew about it well and good. How did they know? We don't know that. Maybe Zhenya did try to do it right and Eteri wanted no part of it. How do we know? We don't. We only know what Eteri has said and she hasn't exactly painted herself to be a picture of credibility. Not replying to rather rude text messages? Maybe because of whatever happened between them before that, why not? Why assume it was Zhenya being rude?
  4. Chill. All the chill. Zhenya has been trained by Eteri for years. If I had to say who's tougher, I'd say it's Zhenya.
  5. Did Zhenya just casually add Lil Bet when we're angsting and shaking our heads over the interview, because she has all the chill if she did that.
  6. I don't really care why when a coach starts publicly bullying their student for wanting to leave them. This is pretty much bullying. Posting screencaps and revealing on TV something the girl might have said when she was very emotional and had all her defences lowered? It's right out of high school clique mean girl stuff.
  7. Honestly, Eteri doesn't come out of this looking good to anybody except those who would always believe her anyway. She's repeated this particular refrain too many times now. It's only believable a couple of times. Well, maybe the young quadsters can consider just what they're willing to go through now.
  8. Not unless we're throwing it at her, no. These are such cheapshots.
  9. Could we please scroll up, and to the time when Zhenya was injured? That would be nice, thanks.
  10. If Zhenya actually wanted to hang Eteri's dirty laundry out the window, I'm pretty sure she could. And worded nicely so it sounds like concern for Eteri's legacy since she's losing so many skaters and is understandably a little upset.
  11. It was in the context of raising minimum age for turning senior, I think. Something along the lines of Sasha is jumping quads, and it's all exciting, but what about when she's 17 or 18, it could be a short-lived thing. The comments he made about Gogolev after that suggests that he was talking about being very cautious with listening to a young skater's growing pains, stopping jumping for up to weeks if there's pain.
  12. I hope Zhenya spills all the tea now. What is wrong with Eteri? Why can't she ever let her good students go without flinging mud all over them? And you know what, I don't even believe Zhenya would have said anything of the sort except in a moment of really emotional low. In which case it should be treated like one of those unwise confessions, not aired on national TV.
  13. Holy shit, Eteri has decided to go all out, hasn't she! WOW. All right, vodka for folks who'd like that, wine for those who have work tomorrow. Tea for whoever wants to sip it.
  14. Ooooh! I've got watermelon and papaya for snacks, but I can break out the drinks if we want to have a shots bingo.
  15. Ah, I see. Thank you, it's helpful to understand nuances like that.
  16. Doesn't she generally not like Eteri very much?
  17. Yes, but there were multiple quotes and translations and snippets that suggested that it might be a prelude to a more long-term thing.
  18. More likely that Boyang would have a short-term or boot camp thing, wouldn't they want him on home ground before Beijing? ETA: Sorry! Double post! My mouse is acting up and I can't go back and change it.
  19. I don't know... At that age, you feel fine after doing all that and icing after cooling down is enough to take care of most aches and pains. You feel invincible, and 18 or 19 seems so far away. Unless they have parents or guardians who look at it and decide that they want their wards to be skating and competitive for more than a couple of years as seniors, I doubt the quadsters think that way.
  20. Oh, that is so true. The injuries last season were terrible. At least coaching changes don't break bones or tear ligaments.
  21. And perhaps be rewarded by a pop-up Yuzu.
  22. Well, nothing's ever completely sure until there's an announcement from all parties, but not outright denying that a foreign coach will be involved is a pretty big sign from the Russian fed, isn't it? We'll probably have to wait a while for the formal announcement.
  23. I mean Fed response seems to be that Zhenya will be with Eteri or BOrser, and Zhenya's side seems to have said pretty definitively that she's leaving Eteri. That leaves BOrser. There was some earlier statement about how they need to talk/figure it out/something along those lines, wasn't there? Seems like a follow-up statement but actually mentioning an outside coach. It's not a formal announcement, but it would be very very surprising if that didn't mean that it'll be BOrser.
  24. Olga Ermolina, the press spokesperson for the fed (if I understand correctly) narrowed it down to Eteri or BOrser according to quote. Seems pretty sure now.
  25. Maybe she'll have off-season boot camp, too. Or some kind of arrangement. Her current team did a great job with her last season, really (ETA: Except for insisting on keeping that flip in the SP, though maybe in the end it helped her because she didn't get called on it at her Worlds free skate!). Her programmes were perfect for her. JSF just let her PCS sink. But now she's a World medallist, so hopefully the only way now is up. Hopefully. Even if she gets the year and a half treatment from TCC - all total speculation - she might have solid enough basics to stick her performances through all that. We have no idea if she will end up there, though. It's wishful thinking because we know TCC can help her get that 3A and make her skating skills better so she can have more complex programmes. Seems like a good fit.
