That's so sweet, she really loves dogs, doesn't she! And the pup looks like a very good-natured fellow, too.

It's so odd to think of Tracy in tears, she's usually so composed and in control. I love them for doing whatever it took to make sure that Yuzu didn't have more pressure on him than he had to. It wasn't an unfair advantage, it was only negating an unfair disadvantage, when he was already at, what, fifty percent? Oh dear. Where are those fifty buckets? I need them now!
-
I absolutely agree, but he's still a lying liar. I would absolutely have done the same in his place and it's a good thing I wasn't in his place because it would've been very difficult to be convincing when crying fifty buckets.
-
I know he had to do it. I appreciate everything he did, I love him for all of it. And yet he is a lying liar.

I love Brian but he's a lying liar.

Oh for heaven's sake! The BV of 4A is still complete BS though. ETA: According to how they've scaled all other axels, it should be valued in the same bracket as a quint, under a 5T.- 685 replies

Three stable quads is the most anybody has, if you're really talking about properly stable. Yuzu has the two landed edge quads and the toe loop. Nathan has the the toe ones. His edge jumps are not dependable, he stumbles on his 4S and has landed the 4Lo the way Yuzu has landed the 4Lz. But it will encourage Shoma to focus on the 4S which is good, his 4S is decent. This, combined with the GOE range, really won't hurt Yuzu much as it stands because he has +4 GOE 3A even on most of his bad days. Even if he only does three quads and two 3As, making up the last two with his 3F and his 3Lz, it would be very very difficult for anybody to overtake his score with his quality even with five quads and two 3As consistent with the quality we have seen from them so far. Odds of Yuzu skating clean also goes up if he does, say, 4Lo, 3Lz and 3F in the first half, 4S, 4T and two 3As in the second half. With his current level of stamina, he can put that 4T and two 3As in combo in the second half. Even if he moves the 4S to the first half to give him room for all that in choreo, bringing his 3Lz back to the second half instead, he'd still score well because his second half 3A combos are wonderful. I don't see these proposals, even if they're passed, hurting Yuzu unless feds put all semblance of unbiased judging on a rocket and shoot it out of the atmosphere. I do see some of these silly rules hurting figure skating as a whole, but they don't seem to care much about that, so.

Figure skating is injurious to health. I mean, being a figure skating fan can ruin your liver. Where do I protest to get justice for Nessie? JUSTICE FOR NESSIE! AXELSTANS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!- 685 replies

Life was simpler when I knew Yuzu wouldn't jump, honestly. Ah, CiONTU. I know, we worry for nothing. What will be will be, he's in good hands and he's a smart young man. I know. And yet.

Forbes's credibility for these net worth figures took a big hit a few weeks ago. Wouldn't trust their estimate for Yuzu, either. Or anybody else.

Gotta admire his commitment to character even when it's doing the sexy look with fries.

OMG it's just a few days and we'll definitely have Yuzu sightings on SNS! OT But Fanyus would be great cryptid spotters.
-
And yet it gave me a heart attack, despite having seen it before, so I'm soooo not ready! (I'm still not ready for the Olympics, either. Yes, the last one, the one he won.)

Something about how the schedule for the shoot was pretty tight but Yuzu came in and asked if there's a shower and can he take a shower, and the staff said that it's pretty impossible to say no to him when he runs in and smiles and asks something, so they managed to squeeze in a shower for him despite the tight schedule. Off the top of my head, I don't remember the exact details and stuff.

Now it feels like off season again but it will be FaOI soon. Where are we on those spycams? We have the spies, what about the cams?

Proposed changes for next season

But I forgot, Shoma has great 3A, so he should also be able to count on good positive GOE 3A. I guess we won't know how it all works out until we see it applied. And even then, in three years, we will see the same thing as last season but amplified. -

His 4F is never called, though. I like his 4S better than most of his other jumps. His 4Lo has the worst leg wrap on a small jump I've seen all season. I suppose those would be what they mean by the -5 jump under the new rules. -

That it definitely is not. Without GOE candy it might work a bit but there's no world without GOE candy. If GOE was applied properly, then if Yuzu can jump perfect positive GOE 4T, 4S, 4Lo and 3A, and we know he can, he'd benefit. Five jumps that can get 3-5 points on each. Those who till now relied on the added BV bump of Lz and/or F without the positive bullets would find that not repeating cuts down on that BV advantage. Two scratchy axels and borderline UR, no steps, no creative entry/exit Lz/F should knock at least a whole 4S worth of points off the new GOE scale. But GOE candy, so. ETA: If a really great 4T/4S got as much as a mediocre 4Lz/4F and skaters could actually count on that scoring being done properly, they'd have incentive to go for GOE on the jumps they're comfortable with instead of going straight for 4Lz/F, too. As things are, this, combined with how UR (often) is ignored, will help the US skaters - Nathan and Vincent. As long as they manage to land the quads. -

I don't see how this and the potential for -5 for bad landings/falls actually helps anybody. Sure Nathan has landed five kinds but his 4S and 4Lo are weak, he doesn't repeat the flip and lutz only for points. Yuzu has landed four, but his 4Lz is still new, all things considered. Shoma has landed four, but his 4Lo is all over the place and his 4S is dicey. Boyang probably can land the loop too but it's not a sure thing. I dunno. -

*sigh* Well, we'll see, I suppose. I hope Yuzu won't rush the Lz again because of this. That rule, if passed, would only apply to quads so his two 3As with new GOE would still be like quads. On the bright side, we would be guaranteed to see two 3As every free skate! If the -5 is actually applied, only the really good quads would be a true advantage over the 3A. -
2018/19 Coaching changes

Still no news about Jason Brown? I suppose that means he's probably staying with Kori Ade. He really needs a jump coach, I was hoping at least that would change. -
