I love Alina's Rippons and in general they look very pretty when done properly. Rippon's Rippon this season, was it CoR? A thing of beauty. Even Zhenya's Rippons look way better than her tanos but as she said it takes a while to adjust to that. In principle I don't actually mind a healthy mix of everything if done well.

I don't share this belief at all, this last Shoma interview actually assures me more than ever of that. It isn't even that they ignore his URs and that only rarely they give him a ! on his Lz (WTT was the exception but I doubt very much it's a beginning of a trend). It's that flip that should never, never be accepted as a flip. It is so bad that at this point it really is a merger of two or even three jumps, because as someone pointed it out on GS, at which point do we start calling this a creative entry to an Axel? To have this changed, judges must start calling it. It's not going to happen just like that. Yuzuru got his Lip calls and worked on it for example. Unless the system starts punishing them, there is nothing in it for them not to continue as they have been. PCS in general has gone completely bonkers so Marina will simply package Nathan properly and that'll be that. They want it and they don't care how they get it, and why should they? Do you really think anyone but a few skating fanatics will care?

I usually have to stop myself from gushing about Deniss because I'm almost superstitious about jinxing him. He and Stephane get along so well and it is so obvious the progress he's made, plus Stephane is very aware judging from his interviews, that these days what it takes is a quad so I am glad they are working on two. Plus he didn't push him at all this season, which I am grateful for. One thing that I would like to see with Deniss is improvement of his 3A. That's one of those ahh hello 3A set up, goes to get tea, returns, sips ... darn he's flubbed it. The jump itself has improved quite a bit but snip snip that telegraphing Deniss.

Same here. The Li Mingzhu thing is pretty well known and all I can say is hats off for refusing to train under her. Limiting water intake is insanity and I don't even want to think about her food policies then. The doping thing is also very dodgy. If she had refused a doping test, she would be in hot water. You cannot just refuse one, willy nilly and get away with it, let alone two of those. She would be at least under investigation, never mind that consequences would probably be a sure thing.

Oh I love Julian! The only thing I had to cough about was his FS music this past season. When It's a Man's World started I'd groan! So please, please Julian get some good music, with a good music cut! I'm guessing he'll have both new programs as I put a spell on you SP was the one he kept from the previous season.
