Her SP this year was not the greatest, definitely seemed over the top with the dress, the makeup/hair, the shoulder shimmies, and the music with very little skating substance to match. HHCC last year was miles better and I'm glad she's bringing it back.

I LOVEE ARTICUNO!!! definitely my favorite pokemon! along with pidgeot it was the only ones i trained and so i only had 2 high-level pokemon and so never won against the elite 4 but what's the point of that anyway

toe loop entry: left outside edge 3 turn + step + toe tap. i think i'm getting the hang of it now. your upper body REALLY needs to be completely in conjunction with your hips, otherwise the timing is really off. i've been having a problem where my right arm is not coming forward at the right time so my shoulder is left behind. this may be the cause of a problem i've been having in the last couple of weeks where my left boot (i turn CCW as most people do) would turn on the ice making a mirror-image J shape on the ice towards my toe tap before i lift off; it's supposed to be as straight as possible. Doing backwards pivots helped a little bit with that. sit spin: well at first I thought that the entry (wind up / CW backwards crossovers entry) was different for that than the scratch spin (which I honestly still really can't do). but i learned that it was in fact the same entry and ONLY after the 3-turn do you get into "position" and this really helped. it's not so hard to go kinda low (still not completely butt parallel to the ice yet), because the force pulling on you while you're spinning helps. but keeping my free leg straight is my next big big challenge. re. new boots: have you had them heat-molded?

Hii! Well, welcome!! Figure skating really does give you a good workout, even if you may not feel it sometime because it's always freezing cold in the rink. I've been skating for about 6 months consistently now and I just realized I have quite scary (for me, at least compared to the past) calf and thigh muscles now not even close to what yuzu has, but i've always been a stick before this Well I am not anywhere close to an expert, but just learning to glide for 10-20 seconds on one foot straight without curving, both feet, forwards and backwards is the first step. it may seem hard at first but it's actually really helpful in building the muscles and the ankle strength needed. And your first set of learn to skate sessions will probably be forward crossovers in both directions (in a figure 8), gliding, stopping, and mayyybe mohawks/3turns towards the end! Hi all!! @kaeryth had a great idea that we should have threads for past seasons to rewatch competitions, discuss protocols, and have streaming parties. The threads would be a great reference for new fans too, who might want to rewatch Yuzu's competitions from the beginning! hmm this year, shoma had: SA: 2 falls CoR: 1 fall GPF: 1 fall/downgrade 4CC: 2 falls CdP: 1 fall Worlds: 0 falls WTT: 1 fall/downgrade I guess he's a bit more consistent than other top guys, but this isn't really the bastion of consistency either. didn't count UR's or edge calls which he also had (more than most other guys IMO).
