    Hmm...a quad lutz popped into a triple lutz, if it's a nice triple lutz, could be a +2. Or +3 if the 4Lz was planned with steps in and out of it But of course, +3 for a triple is worth only +2.1 bc of GOE scaling, and the full +3 for a quad. It's hard to imagine a solo 3T being a +2 or +3 but again, depends on if it was performed with transitions/musical structure/effortless etc.

    Rippon: two hands above the head. Tano: one hand above the head BTW I posted this thread, the first one is a rippon and the second two are tanos. And yuzu's is a rippon.     I think it's up to the discretion of the judge? Say if it's a double then it's possible, although I don't think judges ever give +3 GOE on doubles, but it might get a +1 if it's a nice double. Maybe with singles too if it's really exceptional, i.e. a 1A out of an ina bauer-spread-eagle but I doubt a 1T would ever get +GOE just because a 1T for a top competitive skater isn't that difficult even if it's out of steps/has transitions/you tano the hell out of it. A downgraded (>>) jump (not a pop), though, I think never gets positive GOE. For one, a downgraded triple is an overrotated double...

    Hi all, I just wanted to address the little bit of chaos we had earlier today. We didn't mean at all to say that the BV/layout talk was not important enough to be in this thread. We just thought it was a bit inefficient to have the technical talk and the fluff side-stepping each other in this thread, especially since we have an entire forum now and can have as many threads as we want. This may have given the impression that the more technical side of skating is less important than the general fluff that usually gets posted in here, which is not true at all. In addition, side-threads do die out faster than conversations posted in the general chat. As a compromise, I made two pinned general chats, one for more skating-related chat, and one for general Yuzu fluff, so we can talk about both concurrently. Both threads will stay at the top and are equally visible/important. This is just my solution and anyone with any other suggestions can feel free to PM me about it. Thanks~ Things may have gotten a bit heated this morning. Sorry.

    I edited the thread a bit to say "competition chances" since there's a lot of "olympic chances" type of speculation that goes on, including PR, federations, olympic stress, etc. just to make it a bit more clear

    I think they will welcome him, even if he is Japanese. If all of the very favorable news (even more favorable than Japanese news) during 4CC are an indicator. And Nathan is already being heavily promoted. As @Danibellerika pointed out: Nathan doesn't even have a world medal lol, everyone has olympic golds...
